I recommended to bring my relatives from America and England here last evening. What a pleasant surprise, a once very dated and tired hotel/bar has been transformed by a local couple during these tough times into an ‘absolute gem‘. Hidden in the heart of salthill just off the promenade, in the quite residential area of Rockbarton salthill, you will find a beautifully transformed building. From arrival you are greeted with a warm welcome and directed into a very cosy bar/restaurant. The decor resembles that of an antique Chique venue with new freshness meeting old school in boutique style colours and furnishings, giving an immediate sense of warmth And coziness. The food was fantastic thanks to head chef Jay, I had hot chicken wings with a perfect blue cheese dip, a taste of the yummy black pudding croquettes and a perfectly cooked medium steak With all the trimmings, washed down with a fabulous Merlot served at perfect temperature. The kids had the best garlic bread EVER! Apparently! I Can’t wait to go back and try more of what’s on offer, and our visitors felt the same. We had a lovely secluded area of the bar which gave us the privacy we requested yet The enjoyment of Being in a vibrant energetic new venue. The owners where there serving food and clearing tables being extremely attentive yet not overwhelming to our service needs which reflects their commitment to quality. So wonderful to see such positivity during these very strange times. Now more than ever we all need to support or own people and our local businesses. If it’s a staycation your after Please take the time to visit, eat or stay in this lovely hotel as I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Booked a double for 1 night, rate was reasonable enough but room stank of damp the whole time, also my pet hate in hotel rooms is someone else's hair in the room, in this case the shower, long black ones.
The bar is nice and also the food but it's not cheap, e9.50 for a small tapas, but it's served on a cricket bat so that must mean it's cool.
Staff were nice but overall needs some work.

We weren't sure what to expect as our student son booked and paid for two nights for us. The hotel is in a quiet residential area a few hundred yards back from the seafront. We needn't have worried, the room was very clean, great shower and good WiFi. We ate there both nights, the food was very good and the pints of Guinness superb.

Would not recommend. My friend booked a quadruple room for 4 adults for €108 when we got there we were told they don’t do that room anymore even tho we had it booked and confirmed and in writing. They wanted to give us 2 double rooms and not for the price of €108. They wanted to charge us €190 and wanted €100 deposit each off me and my friends. There was no warning or were we advised before arrival that the hotel wanted a deposit. We refused to take that as we went up to galway with just enough for hotel and food and a few drinks in the city, we are in the middle of a pandemic what girls in there 20’s have 100’s on them for deposits that they weren’t advised of? The manager came out for all of 60 seconds with his hands in his jacket pockets and walked away rudely. The lady we dealt with looked down at our bags as well and said people have trashed the place while drinking before all this lady could see was multi packs of hunky Dorys and 6 bottles of lucozade. We declined and the lady was very shocked and said so you’re not going to take the room for this price in Galway city?!? It was in salt hill. We kindly said no and booked into the western tavern in the actually city and in that hotel we were welcomed with open arms and not asked for a deposit and had a lovely stay! Just goes to show what some hotels are like. I am so appalled with the way me and my friends were treated!

Recently renovated, this hotel is located in a perfect location just off the promenade. The whole place has recently been restored - The bar is superbly decorated and the food was top class. I'd strongly recommend the mussels and croquettes!

Great new hotel, in a great quiet area of Salthill, close to Galway city centre.

Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly and checkin was quick and efficient.

No breakfast being served which advanced notice could have been given.

I booked this hotel even have photos not happy says hotel more like B&B real let down over priced coffee and tea to signs saying reuse your towels to save water (they probably don't want to keep washing) to no kettle in the room for tea to shower been small and having to pay extra for a larger room you can hear every sound in the place even in the bar below my room to the bedroom bext to me to the room across the hall not to mention your in an estate we had electrical problems with sockets to loose handles on the window as for breakfast it's cheaper in Lohans restaurant than in this hotel

This hotel looks like it hasn't had any significant investment in a couple of decades so it looks dated but it has been maintained well. It's really clean and neat and cosy. The welcome was really genuine and warm which made us feel very much at home. The owner couldn't do enough for us. Getting up earlier than normal to make us breakfast 2 mornings and making sure we got the best rate possible. The breakfasts and evening meals were great. There was free wifi and endless sport on TV.
The dated decor wouldn't put me off staying again. The fantastic service is worth it.
