Had seafood chowder & brown bread. Cost €7.50 Chowder had very poor ingredients. Not nearly enough fish variety or enough vegetables & too much cream. It contained a few pieces of fish & not much else & on a few occasions I had to remove fish skin & fat from my mouth whilst

Hi Patsy, I definitely will recommend Cactus Jacks to you. I have dined in several restaurants around Galway over the years and this is consistently our number one. The food is so full of flavour, fresh & delicious. Secondly the Oslo at the top of the promenade in upper salthill is a really class place. It’s full of character & great atmosphere. they do an amazing selection of draught beers, like 20/30. The food is also fantastic, they do a daily specials board, it has a huge selection on it along with the menu. Galway is a fab town, the kings head & the Quays are brilliant for live music. Across from the kings head there is a cracker of a small pub, open fire, great atmosphere & character. Every night there are 8-12 traditional musicians playing some savage tunes in the corner. It’s called Tig Coili. Hope this is of some use. Enjoy
