Only reason I gave this hotel 2 instead of 0 was the dinner...really good fine dining in Gigi Restaurant. How it is rated 5 star is totally beyond me. Trying to have our room cleaned was a battle in itself...shocked when we returned after our first day away to find it just as we left it. When this was repeated the second day, I asked at reception if our room could be cleaned, please. I was told no, they would leave new sheets and towels outside our door. So I said " so I have to clean it myself ", they said yes! Afer an epic battle they did change towels and sheets but left all used glasses and cups in our room. Again...a request to rectify this. So they removed but didn't replace them. Not a glass or cup for us to use. Another effort to get a vessel to drink from! We went away for a rest and ended up coming home for a rest! As for the so called spa...of the small offering they have, steam room and some of the shower experiences were not even working but we were charged the full amount even when we were booked un for treatments. My husband's head massage (shirodhara) consisted of 1 min oil pouring on his forehead. End of. No massage. And this was part of my Christmas gift to him for being such a great, hard-working father and grandfather. Never again!

During our stay we booked into the Thermal suite at the spa having seen this advertised in the room. We were extremely disappointed with our visit to the spa, which is definitely NOT a 5 star. The steam room was not in operation, which we were later told was due to Covid restrictions however we had not been told this at the time of booking, most of the jets in the jacuzzi were not working and the mist shower did not work also. It is very clear this has not been maintained at all. Worse thing of all was that there was 9 people in the thermal suite when the menu in the room had said only 4 people were allowed in with Covid restrictions. There was no separate restrictions on the sauna or the areas within the suite and so at one point there was 5 people in the very small sauna room… not allowing for any social distancing at all. We ended up leaving the spa early as we did not feel safe during the current climate and environment. Further our room was very outdated with scratches and holes in the furniture. Our room was not serviced during our time there even though we had specifically requested this and told reception we would be vacated for the day. We ended up having to wait to get fresh towels when we arrived back later that day. Extremely disappointing and over priced and definitely not worth the money at all!

Our Daughter got married here on New Years Eve and I just wanted to compliment the hotel on their professionalism and expertise. Especially the Manager Martin who was an exceptional host. The food at the wedding was excellent as was the service. The other staff were also most helpful. Breakfast was also very good. I want to thank the night Porter for all his help. We will definitely Return.

My husband and I stayed here for one night on December 28th, it was a wonderful experience, the room was beautiful and the bed extremely comfortable[great nights sleep]. We used the thermal suite that evening which was very relaxing and then we had dinner in the restaurant at 7pm, [this had to be the best part of our stay, thanks to Maurice Ryan], Maurice greeted and brought us to our table and he was so friendly and made us feel very relaxed and we knew we were in good hands. The attention we received was fantastic and the food was outstanding from start to finish,[huge compliments to the chef], So nice to have such a wonderful meal which can be hard to come by these days. The waiters were also very efficient and very friendly. Breakfast was also tasty and wonderful. Thanks again Maurice for your professionalism and friendliness, you made such a difference to our stay and the g hotel are lucky to have you, we are already looking forward to going back soon, Grainne and Gary Barron.
