This hotel had some of the best service I’ve ever experienced, and I work in Hotels in the US. My boyfriend and I were staying visiting the country and we ran into a couple problems, we lost our rental key, and my passport. With the Help of Carly and Marie, who were outstanding, we were able to locate both! What we thought was going to be a costly nightmare turned into a non-issue within hours. These women did everything they could think of to help us out and make us feel as calm as possible. Not only this, but the housekeeper, whose name I do not remember she was working on the 2nd floor on Tuesday 2/19 had asked if I wanted my room serviced. I declined but each day we had a bag of fresh towels on our door simply because they were thinking of us. The day of our troubles they even included a couple candy bars! One night we asked the bar to heat our food, not only did they do this but they said our pizza looked dry and gave us some sauce! When I asked about bottled water the overnight attendant gave us a couple of pints to save us a couple dollars! You’d think the property would be loud due to the bar, but you really can’t hear it at all. I would tell anyone traveling to Galway to stay here. Clean,friendly, and some of the best and most kind hearted people working here! You can tell their only goal is top level service!

Great hotel and in the perfect location for exploring galway on foot, right outside eyre square.
The room was huge and the ensuite bathroom was great, they also validate parking for the multistory carpark round the corner which is a great saving.

We had a great stay at the Skeffington Arms Hotel. Perfectly central location in the heart of eyre square. Very reasonable rates for our double room. Parking is subsidized, and we didn’t hear any noise late at night. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and there was a great atmosphere there and plenty to choose from on the menu. I would definitely recommend this place and I would stay again.

Skeffington Arms was such a wonderful place to stay. The location can’t be beat - right on Eyre Square, and a block’s walk to the coach station. There are so many options for food and shopping nearby. The hotel was able to grant my requests, and the room was huge with a window overlooking Eyre Square. The room was made up daily, with little treats left on the bed each time. The staff was so friendly, and we loved chatting with them. The pub/nightclub nearby did cause some noise at night BUT we were warned about it in advance, AND the hotel provided earplugs. It was so thoughtful. I will definitely be staying here again in the future!

If you are looking for somewhere cheap to lay your head for a night this hotel is sufficient. You get what you pay for, as they say. We were warned about the noise from the nightclub when we checked in but it turned out to be the noise from staff accessing the service closet next to our room that was the most disturbing. Throughout the night it truly sounded like someone was opening the door to our room every time someone would access the closet. I must say the beds weren't terribly comfortable either. The location was ideal, walking distance to the main shopping district and a variety of restaurants. We were very disappointed with the lack of service we received in the hotel bar/restaurant. There was no structure to being seated or served, when we asked a server about getting a table she told us to sit down anywhere, when I protested that there weren't any available seats she advised we should just wait for someone to get up and sit down when we could - very unsatisfactory. I would say to anyone considering this hotel to just manage their expectations. Yes, the price is right, but just know what to expect. The women on reception were extremely kind and friendly.

Location of the hotel was outstanding! Right in a pedestrian area across the street from a nice little park. Parking was in a secure lot about a 5 minute walk away and was only 10 euro per day when paid through the hotel. For our family of 4 we got 2 double rooms. We were on the 2nd floor and our rooms were across the hall from each other. Each room had a queen bed (also had the option for 2 double beds). Rooms were comfortable and adequate. We booked the rate that included breakfast and the breakfast was just downstairs in the restaurant - a full Irish breakfast with some delicious brown bread, fruit and juices. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again - we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go in Galway!

We go to galway every year if not more then once we have always visited the skeff so decided to stay at the Skeffington arms this time it was by far the best hotel we have stayed in. Customer service above all! We arrived early in galway and they had our room ready by half 12/1 o clock. Will definitely be staying here again!

We booked at the Skeffington Arms hotel hoping for an interesting room and expecting to have to deal with pub noise. Neither was true. The rooms are all small and plain. Although perfectly clean, our first room had a window that faced a wall. We were able to move to a room with a front facing window (The Christmas Market was in full swing over Thanksgiving), but it was still cookie cutter basic. The one advantage to staying at the Skeffington Arms is that we had priority seating for the music through a private entrance. Breakfast was OK, and then the kitchen closed, and we had to eat nearby at a diner with a voucher. Parking is in a nearby garage and subsidized. Travelers going during the holidays need to know that the street in front of the hotel is closed to traffice exept for early morning delivery times.

The hotel literally faces Eyre Square and is excellent for shops restaurants bars etc. The restaurant /bar hotel serves pub grub at a very good price. There is no breakfast currently with covid however there are plenty of places nearby. Fresh laundry bags are left to the room daily. After reading the reviews and now visiting I can understand why the staff are well thought of. Everyone was helpful and friendly and very accommodating for any requests be it hair dryers, directions, food advice or drinks. I was worried about the parking situation but q Park is round the corner. You park then pay at reception very smooth no hassle. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved our three night stay here. The hotel is very centrally located and it has a pub/restaurant downstairs for breakfasts and nightcaps (good food and drink). The shower is probably the best I've had anywhere in the world - great water pressure. Beds were comfy and everything was clean. Staff are friendly and go out of their way to make sure your stay is a good one. It can be noisy because of its location, but they've even left earbuds in the room in case you are sensitive to noise. We'll definitely stay here again.

We have no on-site parking and the street outside is pedestrianised. We do operate a reduced rate with a carpark around the corner from us.
