Normally, I wait until after my full stay to write reviews. However, it is obvious that this B&B is hands down the best of the best in Galway! A short walk puts you where the action is in the city center whether you crave the bar scene, shopping, fine dinning or simple people watching. Our host, Mike, met us at the door and graciously offered to park our car within the free parking spaces outside. Although limited in space, as Mike said, "the angle is critical" and he maneuvered our rental car expertly. He then immediately pinpointed places of interest on a free map which we used to guide us to Hyde's restaurant, an excellent dinner choice indeed.
Our room for three had very comfortable beds on the second floor. Although streetside it was exceptionally quiet. The en suite bathroom was fully appointed and all fixtures were immaculate and function as expected. The TV, which we never use while on holiday anyway, was not operable during our stay because of some problem with the service provider. No great loss.
The furniture throughout the house is beautiful and well taken care of. I can't begin to imagine the work required to keep things as they are. If you wish to retreat to a quiet place after strolling the streets, their parlor is a warm and comfy place to enjoy a glass of wine which Mike graciously allows you to store in the dinning room fridge.
Breakfast, prepared and served by Mike and his lovely wife, Breda, was fantastic. A wide choice of cereals, fruit, juices, jams, as well as items ordered from their tastefully crafted menu were delicious. And don't pass up the opportunity to have a cup of their full bodied coffee!
While I could go on, it could bear no more forceful testimony than previously mentioned. If going to Galway...you simply must stay at Ardawn House!

We spent the last five days of our trip at the Ardawn House. The House was situated so that we could easily walk into town every night or drive to sights in and around Galway. A special surprise was that our bedroom was located on the top floor and during a Rugby playoff game, we could open the skylight and have a close view of this exciting event! The hosts were wonderful in supplying us with material, maps and directions for where to go and what sights to see. They suggested excellent restaurants and pubs which made each night special after spending each day traveling to the beautiful countryside, cliffs, Aran Islands, etc. We met other wonderful guests, many of whom have revisited the Ardawn House because of the hosts and attention that you get here at this guesthouse!

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights during our road trip around Ireland. We could not have asked for a better B&B as it ticked every box you could imagine for a first class B&B. Despite being located on a busy road and next to a greyhound and football field, our room at the back was quiet and comfortable and had all the amenities you would expect from a B&B. But what made it really special was the owners, Michael and Breda, who really made us feel welcome and "at home" with them, while Michael was the perfect tourist information officer in giving us directions around town, answering our many queries and making recommendations on places to see and where to eat. He was a font of information for us. There are a whole row of B&B's along this road and the location is just 7 minutes walk into the centre of Galway. We definitely would stay here again.

We stayed for a couple nights in September in room #2. The room was clean, comfortable (though the two twin beds were more comfortable than the double bed) and fit the four of us pretty well. The water pressure in the shower was nice!

The innkeepers were great, friendly and helpful!

The location was good. Easy walk to the train station, coach station, Eyre square and good restaurants.

The breakfast was very good with a good variety of hot and cold options and accompaniments.

Overall, a great short stay!

We stayed at Ardawn House for two nights. Breda and Mike were outstanding hosts. This location is close to Eyre Square and many retail shops, pubs and restaurants. The room was tidy and comfortable . The breakfast served had a lot of variety and was excellent. Breda and Mike answered any questions we asked and had suggestions on 'must sees '' and they were 'spot on ' This is a 5 Star B & B
