Detailed Reviews
Decent stay. The staff were really friendly. The free breakfast consisted of bread / toast, butter, jam, milk and cereal (cornflakes, oats, chocolate hoops). Also free tea and coffee all day. Rooms were ok but quite dated and only had 2 plug sockets which were located at one person’s bed. So really inconvenient for charging phones overnight. Room got really humid / stuffy easily and we had to keep opening the window so think some better ventilation and general modernisation are needed. Some simple additions like a rubber bath mat, some wall hooks in the rooms to hang coats or bags etc, and a small shelf in each bunk would make a huge difference.

I stayed in a individual double room on my solo trip for 4 nights.
The room was clean and big enough, with en-suite toilet and even a small table with chair to eat/write, very useful.
The only thing is that my room had a window on the roof and to open it you need to use a very long pole, a bit difficult to open/close at the beginning but once you're used to it, it's quite easy. But if you want to ventilate the room and it's raining you can't do it otherwise you will flood the room xD, same for leaving the room with the window open, you can't do it for the same reason.
I wasn't expecting it but in the middle of my stay they entered in the room to change the trash bag in the toilet, very thankful for that!
Sometimes other guests are noisy at night but that's what you get in a hostel, you never know.
People at the reception are absolutely fantastic, very friendly, funny and helpful! The hostel has a big common room with kitchen and that's a big plus, they also have a room for laundry.
The position is ok, very close to the center but in a secondary street, it's not dodgy or anything, it's just not as central as I thought it to be, but it's very close to everything anyways.
Breakfast was very nice and they always have tea and coffee available. Wifi working great and towels available for rent too.
I had a very nice experience and I would totally come back and recommend this hostel. Thank you guys, you're the best!

I stayed in a private double room with a bathroom for four nights. The hostel is about a five minute walk from the train station. The room was spartan, but suitable for my needs. There was some noise from the hallway at late hours of the night, but that's to be expected though annoying. They provide a light breakfast of tea, coffee, cereal and toast in the morning. Just enough to get you going. Be advised this hostel does not allow alcohol and has strict rules against eating or drinking in the rooms. The Latin Quarter and Market are about a 10 minute walk away.

This hostel was in a good location and felt safe. However, it is requires a big refurbishment or a deep clean. The bathroom was a major issue as there were no hand towels or floor mats provided this meant that anyone getting out of the shower was leaving water all over the floor. This is also a major fall hazard and someone could seriously injure themselves in these conditions. The power points were also in one space in the room and not specific to each bunk bed meaning that in order to charge your phone you had to leave it on the floor where anyone could steal it. Putting in charging ports even small hangers along the walls of the bunks would be very beneficial for this hostel. Overall, it was a safe place to sleep and the staff were nice and welcoming.

Central location but noisy at night as other guests return from pubs. Breakfast is good and will fill you up for the morning. The hostel has a good current setup with covid regulations in place. 24/7 reception is helpful if you have questions

Showed up on a bank holiday weekend with confirmation email and was told I the reservation was cancelled which was impossible.
Staff here were laughing at the fact they cancelled our booking on their side and didn't have a room for us.
This ruined the entire weekend, had to pay over 300 euro for emergency accommodation.
All staff knew they messed up yet still blamed us, shocking service.
Avoid this place at all cost.

It’s not bad place . Kitchen nice area. Expect it to be noisy on Friday and Saturday nights as I found with plenty of room parties and people drinking on the cheap. Mattress cover was quiet dirty. It’s secure tho and that’s a plus. Not too far feom city centre. I’d stay again but would try to get hostel in town first

I am an English cyclist, who made a lot of demands on the staff (mainly due to a change in my travel plans caused by a rail strike in the UK). I was very impressed with the professionalism and the patience of the staff who went out of their way to help and accommodate me despite all the aggro I caused them. A special thank you to Conor, the guy on the front desk, who was incredibly kind and helpful. Thanks, mate!

Great hostel, compared to any other hostel. Kitchen area is lovely and the rooms are nice and warm. Just obviously can be noisy at night being outside near a main road. I highly recommend staying here as it is close to everything in Galway too!

Straight forward check-in, good security, high-quality rooms. Staff were nice and flexible. The other folks staying there were safe and respectful. My only complaints are that the floor-wide male bathrooms were very messy, and in the mixed gender room I was in, the bathroom shower doors were straight up transparent. Other than that, I was happy with Sleepzone.
