Flannery's Hotel Galway receives commendations for its value, offering satisfying breakfast options and clean, well-maintained rooms with the added perk of being well-connected to transport. Guests enjoy the hotel's prime location, close to popular tourist attractions, despite occasional traffic noise. The amenities, including live music and commendable food and service, contribute to the hotel's vibrant atmosphere that guests often appreciate.
Though the rooms are generally celebrated for their comfort and cleanliness, a few guests have noted the smaller bathroom size and the timing of cleaning services. The staff's friendly and professional demeanor is widely acknowledged, even though some guests have encountered inconsistencies, particularly in the restaurant and bar area.

Detailed Reviews
I had the pleasure of staying in Flannery`s Hotel on Friday night the 14th August 2020 and what a fantastic experience it was. From the procedures in place for Covid 19 to the excellent staff and luxurious surroundings Flannery`s far exceeds its 3 star rating. Amy at reception was a pleasure to deal with on arrival with her friendly and welcoming manner. Rod the manager also gave us a warm welcome. There are clear instructions when using the lift complying with Covid guidelines and a no touch hand sanitiser located both outside and inside the lift with numerous other units throughout the hotel. On arrival at our room we had to tear the seal on the door to enter as the rooms are deep cleaned and sealed before arrival. The family room itself was spotlessly clean and decorated beautifully. The coffee pods for the coffee machine and the bathroom toiletries were sealed in individual sanitised plastic bags. We had booked an evening meal in the hotel and were greeted and seated by Lauren who checked our temperature before showing us to our table. She was very pleasant and professional as were Aimee and Luke who served us. The meal itself was divine, we choose three different starters and main courses and all were presented beautifully and tasted even better. The cutlery came in sealed paper envelopes and we got a new set of cutlery with every course. Martin at the bar was also very nice and friendly. Nicola the manager was on duty during our stay and I wish to thank her for making our time in the hotel so enjoyable. I highly commend the management and staff of Flannery`s Hotel for the Covid guidelines they have in place to guarantee the safety of their guests and staff. We will definitely be back for a longer stay.

Stayed with family for a few days and I was so impressed by the measures put in place, all staff wearing ppe might be a bit off putting for some but made me and my family feel really safe, sanitisiters around the hotel and the staff cleaning down all tables and chairs after each guest and the bedrooms were immaculate. We met siobhan the manager and did express our thanks to her but felt it was appropriate in these difficult times to write a review. The menus did offer a great variety of options and there was plenty of space in the bar to have our evening meal and the food can eout piping hot. We availed of lunch as well since it was good value for money as they had a sandwich option as well as hot food so plenty to choose from. All staff that we met from accommodation to reception to bar stffa to management couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating so we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Truly a gem of a hotel a short walk from galway city

Stayed in Flannery’s Hotel for 2 nights and once again it was great. During our stay we felt very safe with all the precautions they had put in place for Covid. All staff were wearing PPE, sanitizers placed all over the hotel, plenty of social distancing in bar and restaurant and as per usual bedrooms were spotless. The staff as alway were very friendly and really make you feel at home. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will certainly be back.

Pre Covid this was my hotel of choice for one of the best Carvery Lunches in Galway City. Today accompanied by my wife and 2 kids we had the misfortune of experiencing their attempt at table service. There must have been 9-10 staff members on duty or standing around together inside with nothing to do. There appeared to be nobody senior giving guidance. After we ate our main meal it appeared as though they forgot there was an outdoor dining area and nobody came to check on us. Eventually after what must have been 30 mins after our main meal had finished i went inside to ask a staff member to come out and clear our plates and take a dessert order. The order was taken but further delays were to come as 10 minutes later we were informed the order was lost. At this point we wanted to walk but for the kids sake we stayed. We spent 1 hour and 50 minutes on site eating 2 courses (€62). Not much of a turnaround for the hotel. Staff appeared to have little to no experience, A sign on the table says that all tables and chairs are sanitised. This is not the case as when customers left in our vicinity only tables got a gentle wipe down with a purple spray but arms of chairs were not touched. The level of service we received today should not be blamed on young new staff but extremely poor management that could not bring them up to speed. I shall not return until the carvery returns.

Dear D5963GCkevin Many thanks for your recent review of Flannery's Hotel Galway. As you can imagine with the last year we have had such a high turnover in staff and trying to train everybody at the same level at the same time is very intense due to covid 19. Please bare with us while we come to terms with the new systems we now have to follow strictly. Kind Regards, Aishling Carey, Guest Relations Manager

We stayed for three nights prior to St. Patrick's Day.
I booked by telephone and got a good rate, I added another night at short notice and also got a good rate for the extra night.
We liked the location, a 15-minute walk to the city centre or a €5 taxi ride. The free car parking is a big attraction for us.
The hotel is quite large and generally ticked all the boxes in terms of accommodation. We were pleased with the room and bathroom cleanliness and amenities.
We did not have breakfast at the hotel but we had an evening meal on one night. The quality of food and service was very good.
The staff were so friendly and helpful and is the unique selling point of the hotel.
One slight aspect I would like to point out, I found the radio in the dining room very loud and annoying and also the bright lighting did not make for a pleasant ambience. It just a small thing but I do think it would make a huge difference if both were toned down.
We stayed just as the Covid 19 crisis was about to break. I'm sure the owners and staff were very worried about their business and jobs. I must say they kept the good side out and were still dedicated to outstanding hospitality in what must be a very worrying time for them.

Having returned from a few days away with the family I must say flannerys hotel really delivered, the staff from the moment we arrived couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. I understand it must be very difficult have to work all day wearing a mask or a visor but that didnt stop these staff excelling at their job. A special mention to alana, nitisha, Amy, Thomas, Matthew. One would feel very safe with the staff cleaning the surfaces after each guest and the number of santisiers dotted throughout the hotel. The only downside was that the menus were limited but as a pizza lover these were absolutely scrummy. We will definitely be returning

I would just like to write to you to express our gratitude for making our 4 night stay so comfortable and safe. In these uncertain times we were apprehensive about going away. But from the moment we arrived at the hotel we felt very safe. The room was incredibly clean and as a family of 5 it was most certainly the largest family room that we have stayed in. The bar area was so well spaced out and you were always a very good distance away from other guests. We ate there every night as the food was truly beautiful and very reasonably priced especially for children. High praise for all the staff who were so friendly and helpful at all times. We would have no hesitation in recommending Flanaghans hotel to people. Many thanks The Malone Family, Kilkenny

We decided on a short two night stay at this hotel to celebrate our anniversary. On arrival we were checked in by the very friendly Niamh at reception. The room we were given did not have a walk-in shower so we requested such a room. This was not a problem & Niamh very quickly arranged that we transfer to another room. This was an early indication of how accommodating the staff were throughout our entire stay. We were also impressed with how Covid protocols were in place with sanitizing stations in place throughout.
We dined in the bistro bar both nights & the food & the service were excellent & again the staff were very friendly & good humoured. Our entire experience was one of complete satisfaction & when we next visit Galway, we will try to stay at this hotel again.

Stayed here with a couple of friends in mid-July. Rooms were spotless and the food and drinks service was fantastic. Staff were excellent and were very helpful with guest services. The only downside to this though was that room cleaning was optional and we asked multiple times for our rooms to be cleaned , however it was not done. We did however receive fresh towels , soap shampoo tea coffee etc every morning. Not much else to say other than the cleaning issue, would stay again!

About 30 minutes. An easy walk particularly if the weather is good. The local buses pick up and drop off near the hotel and are reasonable making change for you if you are close. Small change helps!
From memory I think there was.
