Cappa Veagh represents the best of Irish hospitality at a very reasonable price.
Pat and Catherine welcomed us warmly when we arrived, showed us to our beautiful, immaculately presented en suite bedroom and then served us tea and cake in the lovely guest sitting room. The service and presentation was on a par with a five star hotel, but didn't appear as an extra on the bill at checkout!
Pat was both helpful and knowledgeable when we asked about cycling locally and his suggestions meant we had a much better day than we would have planned by ourselves. We also appreciated that Pat offered secure out of sight storage for our bikes before we even had to ask.
The bedroom was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. We appreciated that Catherine provided a summer weight duvet in view of the warm weather.
Breakfast was superb! It was served in the dining room, overlooking the garden. Each guestroom has their own table. There is a well presented buffet with good quality granola, fruit, yoghurt, etc. Tea, coffee, toast, homemade bread and cooked breakfast orders were served at the table. The choices available, quality, service and presentation could not have been better.
Pat and Catherine know how hospitality should be done and they maintain the highest of standards in a friendly and relaxed way.

We had an amazing 2 night stay with Pat and Catherine. Their home is so comfortable and welcoming. Pat greeted us at the door upon our arrival and showed us around and made our dinner reservations to a nice Italian restaurant in walking distance from our B&B. For the second day we walked to Galway center, it was an easy 30 min walk. Our bedrooms were immaculate and comfy. Breakfast was so delicious, try the portage, it is so good. I highly recommend staying here, it will make your Ireland Vacation all the more memorable.

Excellent hosts . Very well suited to a tired traveller. Lots to do in walking distance. House is immaculate and very Irish. Restaurants, shopping and sightseeing all around the area. Patrick was a wealth of information. Nice to see some books around the house for browsing as well. Enjoyed the B& B immensely. Thank you to Patrick and Catherine.

My husband and I booked in this BnB and we were hoping to stay in a non smoking room but instead we were given a room that smelled of smoke from the previous guests. It is not the owners fault as it is illegal to smoke indoors in public places such as restauranst, hotels shops etc... On the plus side, the owners were very welcoming and they served a really good breakfast.

My husband and I recently visited Ireland for our 1 year wedding anniversary and stayed at Cappa Veagh for 2 nights. Catherine and Pat were amazing. I had emailed them the night before letting them know what our plan was and what time we were guessing to arrive at the B&B. Pat gave us some tips on the route to take to arrive to their B&B, and we are so happy he told us, as it was not the way we were planning on going, but saved us a lot of extra driving. The house is very clean and adorably decorated. We stayed in room 5. Always ask for room 5!! In the 3rd floor of the house, the attic, they have 2 rooms. Our room actually slept 3 people, as it had a double deb (maybe it was a queen?) as well as a single. It was wondering to be able to use the 2nd bed as storage. The room was very large, and there was an amazing breeze. We barely had the window open, and the breeze really cooled the room down. The room was very chilly in the middle of the night, that made for perfect sleeping weather! The bed was very comfortable, and the comforter on the bed was so toasty warm! (I believe it was a feather comforter, and I just loved how it consumed you when you laid in bed) The breakfast was great, and the dining area was set up very nice. We were able to mingle with the other guests which was very nice. Catherine and Pat told us some of their favorite places to visit and eat at. The B&B is roughly 2 KM outside of Galway city center. There is a Promenade that you can walk that runs by the water to get from Salthill (where the B&B is located at) to Galway City Center. It took about 45 minutes to walk, but it is a very nice walk. Also there is a bus stop in front of their house, and for 2 euro you can get on the bus and take it directly to the city center of Galway. (A cab was between 6 and 10 euro to get into Galway)
We really enjoyed the city of Salthill, as there were quite a few places to eat there as well as pubs. We did go to O'Connor's Pub both nights, as Catherine told us about the Pub the first night. The 2nd night we were in Galway at a pub, and left to go back to O'Connor's as we enjoyed it much more than the pub in Galway.
Overall it was a wonderful stay, and we will be going back to Cappa Veagh next time we visit Ireland!

We received a very warm welcome on arrival and were offered tea or coffee and a piece of cake. Our room was medium-sized with a double bed, clothes rack and shelf unit, and a 32” TV. The adjoining bathroom had a shower, sink and toilet. Everything was very clean, neat and tidy and nicely decorated. There was a good wifi signal.

The B&B has a beautiful dining room for breakfast which includes a variety of cereals, fruit, yoghurt and a choice of several cooked meals.

The B&B is about a 30-minute walk into Galway. There are many restaurants and pubs in Salthill which is about 10 minutes on foot from the B&B. Off street parking is provided.

Just found the answer to my question on another travel website. How nice to see a B&B welcoming to children :) That's usually not the case unfortunately in the U.S. Hope to stay here!
