Warm welcome. Room nice but small. Nice walk to town. Breakfast was good. Location perfect for walking. Nice hosts. Water not far from the place. Good recommendation for dinner, Hooked. Wonderful fish.
We received a warm welcome and a very comfortable bed and room and we will certainly return. We arrived on a stormy dark night for our stay in Galway. We were delighted to see that Chelsea Clinton had also stayed at Roncalli House several years ago. Thank you Carmel, Ann and Mercia
Stayed here for one night with my daughter. Extremely warm welcome given on arrival and lots of information regarding things to do in Galway. Room was spotless and everything very well organised. Breakfast was excellent and I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast and would most definitely stay here again. Thank you very much Carmel
We had B&B vouchers. I booked this place because of the good reviews. But it’s more of a hostel. Our room and bath was so small we could hardly turn around and the breakfast was lacking. There wasn’t any soap in the bathroom and the shampoo was L’Oréal.
Two lovely ladies were filling in for owners and could not have been nicer to us. Helped us locate someone we met 25 years ago! It was a reasonable walk to town where we spent most of our time. Room was quite small and a little too warm but we and our grandson managed. As with a number of b and bs we experienced, the bathroom was tiny. The toilet was difficult to flush until we realized it took a long time for the tank to fill. Full bed was up against wall making it difficult to get in and out. Otherwise would have rated five stars.
Town's not a far walk, but not super close either. The owner is very nice and sweet. Space is tight, but that's not unusual. It was a good place to sleep for the night, but hopefully you shouldn't be spending much time in the room during the day anyways. You should be out enjoying Galway.
We stayed 3 nights.. the ladies there are fabulous! We met new friends, had dinner together with 4 other guests downtown. Breakfast was hot and fresh, room is clean and comfortable. Location was wonderful. Will come back and stay if I get the pleasure to return to Galway!
Having stayed here with a friend in 2005, I thought it would be an ideal place for my girlfriend and I to use as a base in Galway. The room was a reasonable size and very nice , however the bed was a bit on the firm side. The breakfast and the hosts were lovely and the location spot on. This is not a criticism, but in this day and age when almost everyone accepts card payments without question, having to make a special trip to the bank to withdraw a three figure sum in cash so we can pay for the room is not ideal. Once again please do not take this as a criticism, we enjoyed our stay,
Small room and small bath with nice owner/manager. I am sure this B&B was lovely 20 years ago but they badly needs improvements now. Carpeting needs cleaning or replacement, as well as light fixtures. The TV in our room did not work. Location is good.
This b&b is amazing! The next time I'm in Galway I will be staying here again. It is in a lovely part of town near the bay; it is very quiet and clean. The breakfast is wonderful! My only recommendation to future guests is to pay any outstanding balance due in cash, not with a card. The b&b Ireland company this house belongs to made an error and charged me incorrectly. Carmel, the owner, was so helpful and quick to call them and rectify the problem. She is awesome!
