Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After an overnight flight into Dublin, there are several bus lines and regular services to drive you to Galway (expect about a 2 hour drive). From the bus stations in Galway it's a 15 minute cab ride (less than 20 Euros). Galway Bay Hotel has a great view on Galway Bay within walking distance of the suburb of Salthill restaurant and bar area. You are however a good 30 minute walk from the Latin quarter of Galway city and its historical venues. Galway Bay Hotel has its charms with vast rooms and dedicated staff. I can not however give this an "Excellent" nor a "Good" score. First there is no AC. First night there the weather was unseasonably warm, and it was uncomfortable. Although the room was clean, there was lingering musty smell (I suppose it was coming from the carpet). Overall it's a good stay but manage certain expectations.

WONDERFUL property with great views, staff, food and drink. The B&B breakfast add on is a great value. We enjoyed our walks along the beach, right across the street. The rooms are spacious and well appointed.

We stayed here for three nights for a wedding. The hotel has a great location in Salthill. There is ample car parking. Check in was quick and friendly. The room was good, spacious and had a partial sea view. The breakfast was excellent with a great choice. There is also a cafe in the hotel which is a good option if you want a quick and reasonably priced snack or drink. The bar is nice with a good selection of drinks. We did not use the leisure facilities.

We stayed in many hotels while in Ireland. This was by far the best. It is in a beautiful location. The dining room was well organized. And all hotel personnel with whom we made contact was warm, friendly, and professional. I would recommend anyone travelling in this vicinity to stay at this hotel.

On our recent trip to West Ireland we have experienced the warm hospitality and wonderful , personable service in this beautiful hotel . The immaculate grounds and bedrooms with fabulous views over the Salthill promenade are unparalleled, even more so on a stunning sunny day !!!Our bedroom was recently refurbished and spotless ,cudos to all housekeeping for maintaining this standard . The heated indoor pool is perfect for an early swim , unless choosing the Atlantic waters right in front of the hotel . Breakfast was very tasty with cold and hot buffet and excellent service from attentive staff. Thank you all for wonderful memories 🤩

Had a 3 night stay - as requested had a room with a sea view, well worth it for the experience and outlook. This hotel has the number one requirement for a successful business - its staff. Friendly, obliging and efficient. These characteristics and skills were necessary given the number of customers that needed to be caterered for. The restaurant is huge but ran like clockwork - no delays nor lack of staff assistance. Of particular note was the inhouse 'wheaten' bread - really unique and traditional . Given the really good weather we had - a real bonus, made for an excellent experience. Galway at its best. Maurice M

Back again to one of the best hotels in Ireland . Had a wonderful time . The hotel is beautiful with great views of the sea from some of the bedrooms . Breakfast is amazing with great choices . Most importantly all of the staff in every section of the hotel are so friendly and helpful . Must make a special mention for Mary who even when busy always has time for a little chat.
