A spontaneous weekend trip, two married Americans in their 30s and a college kid budget. My husband and I stayed at this hostel during our weekend trip to Galway City in January. The location is excellent, being just a block away from the train station. Totally convenient for those coming in by train from Dublin. It is also at the...

Stayed 3 nights in 6 female dorm. Staff was friendly enough and let me check in fairly early. The toilets/ showers are co-ed with 3 toilets and 3 showers which are kept clean. Everyday each other shower broke by becoming stuck on boiling hot. Breakfast was basic, but decent. Beds were like rocks with a barely there pillow. I slept...

Great hostel, so friendly and comfortable and clean. Brian (the workaholic :)) and Lauren in particular made my stay great, organised activities were fantastic to meet other guests and mingle. The room was clean and comfortable, showers and toilets on each floor were great- fantastic water pressure and hot! Some steps to get up to reception and rooms, but manageable....

A friend and I went to this hostel on the start of our Cross Europe trip and nothing we have been to yet has come close to the standard since, from the fun and charming staff to the great social atmosphere this place is nothing short of amazing, you must go to experience this hostel!

Galway City Hostel is a great choice when staying in Galway. I went with my friend, so there were two of us. I felt very safe there. It's small enough where you can meet people, but big enough where they have an array of services. Staff were very nice and helpful. Rooms were clean and relatively spacious. There are chargers...

If you have been traveling alone or with a small group I would recommend this hostel very highly. It has a great feel with a nice common area on the second floor that looks out over the square. People tend to congregate here chat, have a drink or just relax reading a book so is a nice hostel to meet...

I just stayed at GCH for 3 nights, and I must say they deserve the highest praise--for their excellent breakfast, including freshly-baked bread and freshly-brewed coffee; extremely clean rooms and bathrooms; beds with curtains &a charging stations; considerate guests and very helpful & friendly staff; and central location. You usually have to 2nd-guess reviews that heap on too much praise;...

An extremely good hostel for how much we paid for it. The breakfast was great, the bathrooms and toilets were clean and the rooms were well kept. As a tourist from England I especially like the code to get through the door. May as well be 'guilt' 😂

Really cozy with really good people to help you out. Really nice and clean both the rooms and the bathrooms. Free breakfast and a really cool place to hang out with free computer use and board games. It's on the dead center of Galway which is also nice. Free tours and cool discounts from the people working-volubteering at the hostel.
