Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is literally directly in front of the train station making it very handy!! No figuring out where on earth you're going with your bags, you just have to walk across the street. Main street is less than 5 minutes walk away. Galway is a great city, there's always loads going on and I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere to stay. It was clean, relatively quiet especially for being right in the city centre and super easy to wander into town. We really enjoyed our stay!

Stayed here for 2 weeks and it really felt like home. There was always something going on which as a solo traveler is super important but everyone was also really respectful of sleep hours when I didn’t feel like going out. Perfect amenities. Made so many friends here.

I would never stay there again, but if one of my grandchildren did I would be very happy. The reason I have given a 5 star rating is that for only 25 euros they offer a very clean warm welcoming place in the heart of Galway. I am sorry that I cannot remember the name of the blonde lady who checked me in, she could not have been nicer and helped me with my luggage, but this is the first and last time I stay in a hostel, I had to get up at 5:30am to make my bus to Dublin airport, the showers were really good, but trying to ensure I had packed everything while using my Kindle for a light, and so aware that there were 2 others trying to sleep in the room, I so hope they were not too annoyed! The only downside to it was trying to check out at 6am, I tried phoning the number for security 4 times, I tried looking for kitchen or any staff,I tried looking for some kind of a gap in the security shutters to post the entry card into, in the end I kept it and it is now shredded and in the bin. I did not like to leave it on the counter. I so recommend this place to younger people, it was also very quiet at night.

Overall the basic facilities were great, bed was comfy, showers decent and hot water was not an issue, common room was nice. Thing I’d note about the general space is that everything was cramped in, rooms should really be a room of 4, not 5 as you can barely move in them. The common room was the same, can barely turn around without knocking into someone in peak times. My main issue with this hostel is that it is very clicky. Most of the staff appear to live here or if they don’t they definitely hang out here all the time taking up common room space or creating the most noise in the evening. On my last night here there seemed to be a guy packing up who had worked here and was now off home, he had his stuff laid out all over the common room, with other members of off duty staff sat around the table making it difficult to move and makes you feel like you’re intruding. This guy then also had an early 2am bus leaving from outside the hostel and I was unfortunate to be in a room that faced the bus compound and you could hear him and other members of staff outside in the early hours of the morning screaming and shouting, having no regard for their guests sleeping opposite them. This was also a running theme in the common room late at night too. So just a warning to other guests travelling that although the hostel it’s self is great and a great location, the staff there on duty or off duty do seem to take over and can be very loud at times! Not sure I’d stay here again, might try out one of the other greatly located hostels in the city before I do!

I had a brief stay at this hostel, but it was great. The staff was very friendly and willing to store my bags since I arrived early morning. The location is convenient to both the bus station and the train station. The noise level isn’t terrible, but being on the second floor, you can hear the door buzzer. Facilities were clean. No one in my room was friendly the first night. Once the three girls left and new people came in, it was lovely. I would stay again.

Breakfast provided, very clean and wonderful staff at the front. Provided us a map and tips of places to go. I also left my bracelet there and the staff sent it back home to Australia - above and beyond service. Highly recommend.

This hostel is great. Its clean, friendly (but fairly quiet) and has plenty of living space with a kitchen and outdoor space. Good location, 5 min walk to the town centre. Only downside was the showers could have been a bit better.

it’s a nice place to stay, the location is comfortable also for those who don’t have your own transport. the staff was kind, friendly and very helpful. breakfast was good with large variety. there was loud music playing below us during the night but it was bearable. the room was fine, beds are equipped with personal curtains, different types of plugs & personal lights to read. showers and toilets were very clean. it’s a great place to know and meet new people everyday, especially in the common room which has also guitars, computers, free teas, coffee and sofas.
