This beautiful 4-star hotel is in a great location for visiting Eyre Square, Salthill and many local tourist attractions. The automatic power assist door at the hotel entrance, along with three accessible parking bays make it ideal for a wheelchair users’ arrival.
A modern accessible room is located on the second floor with an elevator close by. This consisted of a double bed with suitable bedside space for an easy chair to bed transfer. Room features included a low-level keycard wall slot, bedside lamps with reachable light switches and sockets, a mini fridge and kettle. A narrow desk ensured adequate space for a wheelchair user to access windows and blackout curtains. Desk mirror was quite high, although a full-length mirror was also provided.
Regrettably to allow access to windows and curtains, a large room chair was repositioned in front of the wardrobe, rendering this unusable during my stay. Carpet also made wheeling around this room difficult and challenging. Reception advised they will look into possibly replacing this carpet with an easy roll carpet.
The accessible bathroom was spacious with a wheel-in shower, removable shower head and reachable shower controls. A shower chair is available on request; however, this should be supplied prior to arrival. The bathroom mirror was at a correct height with a reachable towel rail and toilet grab rails.
We enjoyed an evening meal in the Bar and Bistro; staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, this hotel is in a great location for visiting Galway City and I would happily stay here again.

So refreshing to find a hotel that exceeds expectations at every level. This is a 4 star hotel with 5 star attitude! From the warm welcome at reception, and great staff attitude overall, to the food and room quality and the cleanliness throughout, this was a great place to stay. The quality of the fitout in the superior rooms and bathrooms is a credit- the rooms are designed to be restful spaces, bed and linen first class for comfort. The bathrooms are luxurious with with Handmade Soap company and Rituals mini toiletries, fluffy heated towels and extra large shower cubicles with choice of rain or regular showerhead.

Since my trip to Galway was literally a last minute decision, I didn't have much time to research hotels around the city, and since I only needed accommodation for one night, I really didn't need to read reviews and experiences of other guests. So I ended up at the Menlo Park Hotel quite by accident, and one of the several reasons why I decided on the Menlo was the most affordable price with breakfast included on the day I made the booking (mid January), provided free parking and location very close to the city center.
Overall, I'm super glad I chose this particular hotel for my first visit to wonderful Galway. The hotel is located in a great location, if you come by car from Cork or Dublin, you can completely avoid the city center. With that said, the city bus station is located near the hotel but I decided to avoid public city transport and I walked for the entire time I spent in the city. It took me only 20 minutes from the city center to the hotel, consequently there was really no need for public transport.
Anyway, I would definitely recommend the Menlo Park Hotel. From the Front Desk personnel who were very kind, especially the young man whose name I unfortunately did not catch, to the breakfast restaurant staff and all the way to the accommodation attendants I met in the corridors; everyone was incredibly nice! Along with the friendliness of the staff, which is one of the most important characteristics for me personally, the cleanliness of the room is just as important. I have to admit that I was very satisfied with the standards. In general, the room was excellent, clean and spacious with a comfortable bed and a wonderful long working desk. The bathroom is also spacious and the shower in the bathtub was excellent, I especially liked that in addition to the fixed mounted shower head there is also a hand held shower head option. In any case, I will definitely stay at the Menlo Park Hotel again when I visit Galway again.

Located about a 10 minute walk from Galway this hotel was very good. The hotels location made it easy to find and being on the outskirts it had plenty of free parking. The walk into town is easy and on the flat, plus there is also a bus service if you need it. The taxi back from town wasn’t that expensive. Room was large clean and modern nice bathroom and I believe it had been recently updated. The hotel restaurant and bar were excellent plenty of attentive staff, food was fantastic and the prices were very fair you sometimes expect hotel bars to inflate their prices but it was similar prices to the bars in town. Nice breakfast in the morning.

First of all, make sure you are booking a room with air conditioning. If it's not specifically listed as an amenity, you will not have it. There is a fan in the room and you can sleep with your window open, hearing the sounds of the traffic all night. We stayed in three rooms, and all could use a good deep cleaning, particularly bathrooms (we showered in two inches of standing water because the drain was clogged in ours). No breakfast offered until 9:30. This hotel is comparable to an average Holiday Inn here in the states--would not recommend.

Dear Jodi, Thank you for your feedback. The rooms allocated to guests are the ones that are reserved during the booking process. The rates , room types and amenities options are clearly listed and need to be chosen by the person making the reservation to complete the booking. You were allocated to the room type you booked. We do apologise that the shower was not draining properly. Unfortunately, this can be something that is difficult to monitor as our team would not have the shower running as long as it takes to have a shower. We have discussed this and have implemented a new procedure to manage this. We do appreciate the fact that you let us know while you were as we were able to sort it immediately, as you are aware. With regards to the breakfast times, please let me clarify the correct times. Breakfast starts at 7am and is served until 10.30am. We do serve breakfast in our bistro for non residents from 9.30 . As you had booked a room only rate, perhaps you confused where you could eat but all of our guests and non residents can avail of breakfast from 7am regardless of whether they have it included in their package or not- to state otherwise as fact is simply untrue. It really is such a pity that you found nothing positive about your stay with us and gave us an average rating when most of the issues you list were misunderstandings on your part. Our team work so hard to look after our guests and this is evidenced by the majority of the feedback we do receive. We always book the Menlo Park hotel when we visit Galway and for very good reason. The very high standards throughout the hotel are consistent. We arrived early and were advised that our room would be ready in 40 mins and it was going to be an upgrade. Great start! Our luggage was held, and we had lunch while we waited. There was a really good carvery and we thoroughly enjoyed our tasty lunch. The friendly receptionist came in about 30 minutes later to tell us our room was ready, on checking about our luggage, we were told it had been sent up to the room. Very efficient. The room, rather the suite, was beautiful, recently refurbished, I'd think, and as always, everything was spotlessly clean. The shower was super. We even got a "welcome back" card and chocolates. The team in this hotel goes above and beyond to maximise customer satisfaction. Staff are lovely, friendly, and very efficient. We had a really good evening meal in the restaurant. After a lovely restful sleep in a fabulously comfortable bed we enjoyed a superb breakfast - there is such a wide variety of everything - cereals, bread, croissants, scones, gluten free food, yogurt, grapefruit, strawberries, cooked food etc etc. The location is perfect and parking is easy. Restaurant prices and hotel rates are very competitive and represent good value for money. We just love The Menlo Park and hope to return soon. Thank you to all the staff.

A lovely hotel and very convenient to the University. I actually walked to work and it took under 30 minutes. Staff were lovely. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. I would like to highly commend housekeeping as I stayed two nights. The room was serviced to such a high standard it was like going into a new room on my second night. Whoever serviced room 211 on the 27th Feb takes real pride in what they do. I booked directly with the hotel and it is one of the few that offer better rates than online booking platforms. Just excellent value for money.

Travelled with partner and two teens for the Galway Markets. Stayed in two rooms, one of which was the upgraded Signature room which was fabulous. The attention to deal and furniture etc in the room was of really high quality. Staff in all areas from Reception to the Bistro to the cleanliness of the common areas and rooms were impressive. We had an amazing deal booked with Rorys Travel club and enjoying mouthwatering food in the Bistro, all served together quickly and hot which was amazing compared to other establishments we visited on our trip to Galway. Great variety for breakfast also. We would definitely stay again.
