Detailed Reviews
Stayed at Menlo Park recently for two nights on a three centre staycation. This hotel was simply superb, great location, fantastic friendly and efficient staff and very good food. Room was huge, without air conditioning it might be a bit warm at times but a pedestal fan was provided. The Covid 19 precautions were excellent, sanitizer on every table, a tick list for breakfast items which were speedily served and a served buffet was of a good standard. We felt safe and comfortable, by far the best of the three hotels we stayed in. Will stay again on our next Galway visit.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here as part of our staycation. The hotel was lovely and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in a suite and the room was gorgeous and very clean. The breakfast was organised very well with each seat spaced out with screens in between.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
The hotel was immaculate and was very comfortable to stay in. There were seals on the door and toilets to let you know you were the first to use them after they were cleaned, the remote and cups were wrapped in the bedroom and staff was visibly cleaning the public area. The staff were extremely polite and welcoming, especially our receptionist Rafal and the female manager whose name we unfortunately missed. The breakfast was superb, with all the teas, coffees, pastries, cereal etc. brought to your table and you could also go to the counter where the chef would serve you hot food aswell. The rooms were also very spacious and comfortable.

We checked in for a 2 night stay and I'm so happy we chose this hotel.
The Car park has plenty of free spaces.
The reception staff were professional in checking us in and helpful with getting us taxis and helping with queries.
The room was big and bed great. The pillows were a little soft, but this is a personal preference.
The rooms looked like they had been recently refurbished.
Breakfast was great, but was buffet with full cooked breakfast option available along with smoothies, granola, fruit, breads, cheese etc
The hotel is about a 15 walk from town and a taxi cost €10. This did not concern us and it wouldn't discourage me from recommending the hotel.
It lives up to its 4 star rating and the price at €213 for 2 nights was a bonus.
We didnt ear in the restaurant for lunch or dinner. But from the constant stream of people it must have been good

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like returning favourites and all the staff collectively maintained that friendly warmth throughout our 2 night stay. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. The house maids work tirelessly making sure the rooms are immaculate and it shows, the waiting staff are alert to customers leaving a table and are immediately over to clear and sanitise the area ready for the next customer. Food was of a very high standard and the rooms were very spacious and very comfortable (we were upgraded to a superior room). Special mention to Mary in the Bistro who was so attentive made us feel like we were the only diners in the restaurant she had to look after. Also Camila at breakfast who was always bright cheery and pleasant while going about her tasks but still had time to exchange daily pleasantries. Loo roll could be better quality 😃

Just back from a, 3 night stay at the Menlo Park hotel, staff are so helpful and friendly, hotel very clean, breakfast each morning was excellent. The hotel is just on the outskirts of Galway city, we were told by a member of staff, that a bus leaves to the city every half hour, just outside the hotel. But its a short drive in, or indeed a nice walk. There's 2 shopping centres near the hotel, which have the usual shops
We had a luxury King room which was spacious, beds comfy, and while there was no AC, we found a fan in the wardrobe which was good, as we had good weather, so was quiet warm. Overall we enjoyed our visit, the hotel is in a great location, my Hubby enjoyed his 1st pint of Guinness since lockdown and he said it was good, residents can but drinks, but due to covid cannot drink then I'm the bar, unless eating there, we had dinner there 2 nights of our stay in the bar, which has a limited menu, next time we will try out the restaurant 😊.

We stayed here for 2 nights in May 2022. First impression was the 20 minute wait in traffic at the light trying to make a right turn towards the hotel, which we could see while stopped at several cycles of the light. The intersection was clogged. Once we got there, the hotel was nice. We were in room 129, which was the furthest room from the lobby. It was a quiet room overlooking the dumpsters in the back of the building. Bed was soft and air conditioning worked well. Housekeeping did not check soap dispenser in in shower, which was empty. A call to the front desk led to a selection of individual bottles being quickly brought to the room. We left the do not disturb sign on the door as we did not require housekeeping for our 2 night stay, and they left us a bag with TP, water, soap and towels on our door for the 2nd night - which was a nice touch. The tub/shower in room 129 was a tall step into the tub, and the shower had a curtain liner, which I am not a fan of. Breakfast was good with a buffet selection and a hot station to order food. It was not crowded at 8am each morning. After traveling all day, we did not feel up to the 20 minute hike to the nearest restaurants for dinner, so we ate at the hotel restaurant each night. It was not very crowded. Food was good, but we ordered too much - appetizer, 12" pizza (good with lots of meat on ours) and starter salad for 2 people was too much food. They were out of the wine we selected but offered us a bottle of red wine on special for 20 Euro. The 2nd night we ordered less food an stuck with beer (they have a good bar selection too). The restaurant had even less people the 2nd night. I would recommend this property, but I think I will look for a property that is easier to access if I were to return to Galway in the future.

I stay away a lot, and have done recently in Galway. By far this is the best and most value for money hotel in the vicinity but also the best ran I’ve stayed in in a long time. They are not penny pinching like others trying to claw back some revenue in all kinds of areas. No need for shabby hotels or service these days this hotel didn’t disappoint never felt less than 4* at any point, this hotel certainly didn’t come across as a victim of the pandemic. You can tell thought has gone into things.
Decent food good menu
Rate was such better value in comparison to others in vicinity.
Proper big decent towels including face cloth
Very comfortable bed and bedding
Staff unbelievably friendly and professional
Good location
Nice outside area to sit
Clean
Can leave bathroom light on without fan for nighttime visits - smart thinking
Well maintained (corridor actually being painted too when I was there unlike others who need that TLC so badly)
Staying again now that I’ve found somewhere right and joined loyalty program.
Only negative is the selection in the bar was poor.

We are so pleased to read that you were so satisfied with your overall stay and that you have joined our loyalty programme. You are correct in your point that we do put a lot of thought into all aspects of what we do and with that in mind, we would love to hear more on your thoughts about the selection in the bar. So much of our future planning is guided by guest feedback and we would be very open to hearing where you felt we could improve on that area. Since my trip to Galway was literally a last minute decision, I didn't have much time to research hotels around the city, and since I only needed accommodation for one night, I really didn't need to read reviews and experiences of other guests. So I ended up at the Menlo Park Hotel quite by accident, and one of the several reasons why I decided on the Menlo was the most affordable price with breakfast included on the day I made the booking (mid January), provided free parking and location very close to the city center.
Overall, I'm super glad I chose this particular hotel for my first visit to wonderful Galway. The hotel is located in a great location, if you come by car from Cork or Dublin, you can completely avoid the city center. With that said, the city bus station is located near the hotel but I decided to avoid public city transport and I walked for the entire time I spent in the city. It took me only 20 minutes from the city center to the hotel, consequently there was really no need for public transport.
Anyway, I would definitely recommend the Menlo Park Hotel. From the Front Desk personnel who were very kind, especially the young man whose name I unfortunately did not catch, to the breakfast restaurant staff and all the way to the accommodation attendants I met in the corridors; everyone was incredibly nice! Along with the friendliness of the staff, which is one of the most important characteristics for me personally, the cleanliness of the room is just as important. I have to admit that I was very satisfied with the standards. In general, the room was excellent, clean and spacious with a comfortable bed and a wonderful long working desk. The bathroom is also spacious and the shower in the bathtub was excellent, I especially liked that in addition to the fixed mounted shower head there is also a hand held shower head option. In any case, I will definitely stay at the Menlo Park Hotel again when I visit Galway again.
Thank you for making my first visit to Galway such a nice and pleasant experience!

We stayed in the Menlo at the weekend. It was very clean and covid-19 signage was very evident,it was very professionally thought out, it wasnt intense, just right.
The only thing we could say that caused discomfort was the heat in our room from the minute we arrived until we left. There was a fan in the room which helped, however it can be little loud when we had it moving left to right.
The staff were all professional and pleasant and had masks and clear face shields.
We all had monkfish goujons for dinner. They were a little rubbery but tasty and desserts were all nice, cheesecake, raspberry tart, icecream galore. We could bring drinks up to our room after the last drinks in the restaurant and the bar man asked if we wanted an ice bucket etc which was nice.
Thanks Menlo management and staff, please turn down the heat in the rooms.

I’m not sure about this specific hotel because we were only here one night. But the other hotel we stayed at told us the lavenderias are not places where you can do your own laundry with coin activated machines. They are just placed to drop off your laundry like a dry cleaners. We needed clothes immediately and had to hand wash them.
Hello, our reception desk is manned 24 hours so that will not be a problem. If you would like to contact us directly at 091-761122 you can let us know the name on the booking and we will make a note of it.
