Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had never stayed at this establishment before but we booked in for two nights in order to attend a family commemorative Mass at Galway Cathedral. The hosts were very accommodating & the room was bright & airy. The decor is a bit dated but it was clean & warm.
We ate in their Thai restaurant on our first night & the menu was extensive & the food was cooked to perfection. Anthony, who ran the restaurant could not have been more helpful. My partner wanted normal spicy, while I wanted extra spicy. In each case, we got exactly what we wanted & lots of it.
We were very pleased with our entire stay, we will be back & we will recommend this place to others. There is limited parking to the front with additional on street parking nearby.

Our one-night stay was thoroughly enjoyable with helpful staff and parking available at front of house making access to our room very easy. The rooms were presentably comfortable and the full Irish breakfast was a good way to start the day. This is a traditional hotel which we would recommend to anyone.

This small hotel is in an excellent location in Salthill with bus stop nearby with buses serving Galway city centre every 20 minutes until 7pm and every 40 mins thereafter. There is parking in front of the hotel. Accommodation is fairly basic. The staff and owner are very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast is included in the price.

This was perfect location. Close to Salthill Promenade and beach. Bus stop to Galway City Center close. Greeted warmly on arrival and easy check-in. Small family run hotel gives the personal touch. Place is well worn but everything a person needs for a pleasant stay is available. Clean room, bedding, towels and clean on-suite full bathroom. Gerry and Joanne very helpful, especially in arranging bus tour.
During breakfast Joanne was concerned we had what we wanted. Very attentive to our needs. Cleanliness in dining room excellent.

You could not wish to stay at a more friendly and welcoming hotel. The hosts, Gerry and Joanna, go to the end of the world to make sure your stay is enjoyable.

We have stayed annually since 1997 and feel part of the family!

We have recoomended this hotel to other friends who return with similar stories.

Highly recommended.

Superb. Friendly staff, cosy bar, fine food, easy parking and a glorious location. The finest small hotel I have ever stayed at.

I don't expect to have 5* star accommodation, especially when you review the hotel before you stay. I can get over sub standard accommodation but when you can't get the basics right that does it for me. Blood stains on the towels, out of date food for the breakfast and paper thin walls.

We stayed here because the pictures on the web looked very inviting. On arrival to our rooms I felt likechecking out again, but it was too late in the day to find alternative accommodation. The musty smell in the rooms was terrible. The showers just about worked. The room and bed was clean, but very cold and could do with some brightening up. The room was definitly overpriced. I/we will not be staying here again.

This has got to be the worst place i've ever stayed in. First of all we felt the staff were very rude. They wouldnt put the heating on, the rooms were tiny and filthy. i will not be recommending this hotel to any of my friends because i feel it would be cruel to put them through that sort of pain
