Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Very quiet quarter. 15 minutes walking from the downtown of Galway.

My girlfriend an I stayed there for 2 nights. The rooms are pretty spacious and the views to the lake are really amazing.

The girl that attended us was very kind, she recommended us some places to dinner and have a drink.

Good value for money.

Excellent. Not a bad walk to the city center. Maybe 10 minutes. Lovely scenery, and the ocean is right out the window. Plus the food is great.

Start with the good: nice location, with a short stroll to restaurants and cafes. Shannon, the proprietor was nice enough, recommending activities and making bookings for us. However the place looked as though it had not been throughly cleaned in some time. There was dust everywhere, the towels and bathmats were fraying and the sheets were absolutely DISGUSTING. Shiny brightly patterned plastic sateen. Nasty Nasty Nasty. I felt icky sleeping there and refused to eat breakfast there.

We booked interconnecting family rooms consisting of one double and one twin room. What we got was a double room which lead to a small hallway/wardrobe area with an en suite on the right and straight ahead was clearly once a large porch but is now a tiny bedroom. The floor is still tiled, its extremely cramped and the only heat in the room was a portable heater. How this can be sold as a bedroom is beyond me.

The wall of the en suite only comes up about 90% of the way so you can hear absolutely everything from the bedroom and once the shower is used the steam comes over the top into the room, I've attached a photo to explain this better. The bathroom is badly lit wth just a small shaver light.

The beds were very old and squeaky, the towels and linen were mismatched, worn and clearly years old.

After seeing the standard of the room we opted for room only and had breakfast in the nearby Coco cafe which was lovely.

On check out the lady wasn't at all friendly, didn't ask us how everything was etc just told us the price, she had zero interest in her customers.

The only advantage of this place is its proximity to town, about €8 in a taxi.

We used this accommodation as we were attending a wedding in a nearby hotel. Check-in was courteous and we were allocated a room upstairs. It was not what we expected by any means - the room was pokey, the decor was outdated, carpet shaggy the en suite really cramped and at an exorbitant cost of €99. Breakfast is not supplied even though the outside sign advertises this accommodation as a B &B.
Definitely will not be using this accommodation again.

Great location within 5 minutes walk of Salthill and 5 minutes drive to Galway city.
First impression, looked beautiful from the outside, lovely view, great breakfast, nice staff... house very dated, very dusty, not very clean, I would go as far as saying it was dirty, bed linen & towels seen better days, was not impressed, a few gallons of paint new curtains new bed linen, and good old elbow grease this house would be beautiful inside as well as outside...

Our stay at the Ocean Crest B&B was very enjoyable. We had a nice ensuite bathroom as well as a spacious room. The B&B was close to Galway and about a 25-30 minute walk from the main bus station. Pauline recommended a great tour of the Cliffs of Moher and had a lot of knowledge about the area. She made our stay truly enjoyable and provided great service. We enjoyed a delicious full Irish breakfast both days. There was also free wifi.

Plenty of FREE parking space just outside guest house. House is cute and right next to the seaside. 15 minute walk into Galway city. Sharon and Pauline very accomodating. Ensuite bathroon shower was quite large and GREAT water pressure! FREE wiFi. Views of the seafront not viewable from our room but seen from the breakfast room.

While the host was kind upon arrival, we were in a twin room which may have been a booking error. Regardless, the rooms were very dusty. So dusty, in fact, that my husband (we were on our honeymoon) had such a severe allergy reaction that we had to seek medical advice and seek out allergy medication. Not only were the rooms dusty, the bedding was old. The beds were so weak and used that they sank almost to the boxspring when we sat on them. The comforter/bedspread was dingy and stained. The pillows were very old and hard from overuse. The towels were ratty and discolored, mismatched and in need of an upgrade. The bathroom had one small shaving light that was pulled by string. There were mold marks lining the shower, the toilet and the sink.

The doors were very thin and since we were staying next to the stairwell we could hear every single conversation being held by the owner right in front of our door.

This room was not as advertised.

Furthermore, the B&B host who greeted us at the door had a room she was working out of across the hall. On our first night we sat on the stairs a good 40ft from the entrance and watched one of her friends/family members hang out of the balcony, obviously intoxicated, yell at ladies walking by on the sidewalk and parking lot. We saw the owner in the same room laughing and having a grand time, allowing this behavior to happen. Completely inappropriate.

This Bed and Breakfast charged us for morning meals, yet the cereals and cookies and crisps were left out, opened and exposed, from our arrival time on for the next morning. We did not even want to eat there because everything looked incredibly stale.

http://Booking.com as well as Ocean Crest B&B should be ashamed representing such a disgusting place on their website. Of course we did not want to spend the second night, the accommodations were horrid. We will be disputing these charges on our credit card.

There is space for parking in front if the property which is off the roadside so that is good There is WIFI advertised here but neither my husband or I could actually get a connection. as we were only staying 1 night it didn't matter too much but would have been annoying if staying longer. hope that helps 😊

hello, you call the b&b to reserve your stay. It can be done by phone. it's a beautiful place to stay, very helpful. when you go for tours, the staff will tell bus tour to pick you up from this place itself. Hope this helps ☺
