Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The location is amazing. It is right off of the square and then just a couple of minutes from the Latin Quarter. The description said snug room and that is was. It did have everything we needed though. My only complaint is how you could hear everything in the rooms beside you. Someone coughed next door and I thought they were in our bathroom. If location is what you are looking for then this is the place for you. We would stay here again.

Absolutely wonderful place! Massive issues with Ryanair which made us miss our first night and got stranded in Shannon and the hotel were so helpful with trying to help us get to Galway. Upon arrival the staff were so welcoming and friendly and even got a hello from Oscar the dog! Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff when we asked about getting to places around Galway. The room is a good enough size for what you need with a very comfy bed. Room is fully heated or air conned for what you prefer and there is no noise from the outside The location is a 2 minute walk from the train/coach station and is very central to the centre and all the bars/restaurants. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Nice small room w king bed, large bathroom, AC, great water pressure, elevator, location great for tours and the pedestrian zone, between bus station and train! Held our bags until we could check in. Maid service every day (unusual in this post Covid era)! Other stuff: Take city bus 401 to Salthill to Ladies Beach. McDonald’s McFlurry vanilla ice cream w caramel, chocolate syrup and Cadbury ‘flake’ candy is great! Music at Taaffes starts at 5:30pm.

While the room was very small, we were quite happy with our stay. The room was air conditioned which helped as it’s been unseasonably warm. The hotel as a whole is small and tight, but for a good priced stay in the center of Galway it’s an awesome option. The bathroom was very nice, good large shower. The bed is a full size. A lot of reviews talk about parking. Parking was very easy, it’s located around the corner but connects you to the hotel through a short alley way. This means you don’t need to unload suit cases in the unloading zone in front of the hotel. I’d recommend having someone hop out in from of the hotel to grab directions to the parking before checking in, they’ll draw the location on a map for you. We called ahead of time to reserve parking, I’d highly recommend this as we only saw three spots available to the lane. They added the cost of parking to the room charge and made it quite easy. Overall we’d choose it again!

Arrived at the the lane around 3,30! Before checking was permitted and was glad to hear our room was ready. Reception staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was pretty small but had everything that you need. It was finished to a very high standard and really had a contemporary feel about it and also more importantly was very clean. You cannot beat the location it’s just a 10 minute stroll to eyre square which was great. Also I have to mention the ladies who clean the rooms they are fantastic and a great asset to the hotel. So any time I’m back In Galway I will definitely be staying at the lane.

Location excellent, room small but perfect for one night. However, on check in we were informed that previous customers had mentioned a bad smell in the room. They tried to rectify this, and when we entered the room it was fine. However, later on that night when we returned, the smell in the room was disgusting. Reception closes at 9pm, so there was no real solution for us. We mentioned the problem on checking out but got no apology for the inconvenience. This is clearly an ongoing issue so instead of reserving this room for future guests you really need to fix the issue long term. The room was not cheap so we really felt we lost out on a nice night away as the smell just ruined the experience.

We stayed in a "snug" room at the Lane at the end of May/beginning of June 2023. Upon arrival, we had a small snafu over our reserved parking space but it was resolved quickly by the front desk person (Vanessa). She also provided us with good tips on places to eat and drink. The room was indeed "snug", but that was expected based upon our reservation. The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower was very nice, and the in room A/C worked perfectly. This hotel is located located ideally in Galway. It is easy to walk to all of the sights in Galway and close to the hop on hop off bus in Eyre Square and another stop. It's also easy to drive to. It's also right next to the bus and train station if traveling via those methods. Pubs and restaurants are within steps of the front door. We loved that the hotel had an elevator (lift) as most of the places we stayed in Ireland did not have one. Additionally, this is one of the few hotels we stayed in that had a refrigerator of any type even though it was pretty small. If we return to Galway in the future we will definitely stay at the Lane again.

On good side, very friendly and welcoming staff, nice and clean, easy walk into town. Downside, this can be very noisy - there is a sports bar opposite (Murty Rabbits) which is loud with very bright lights until 1am - I thought it was daylight shining round the curtains. We may have been unlucky to have a neighbour having a major row and the Garda being called at 3am as well. I would go back, but only if (as this time) we hadn't had more than an hour's sleep in the last 48 so would sleep through anything!
