Detailed Reviews

The rooms are incredibly smug for two people - it’s in the name. We knew what we signed up for though so it was fine, but there is barely enough space for two people to stand at the same time.
Great location in quay street but very noisy at night, room 10 was towards the back and it was still very very loud. They supply earplugs though!
Shower was great and shampoo etc was good quality too. Hairdryer was supplied. Smart TV had no internet access so only satellite TV was available. WiFi signal was decent too.
Bed was comfy but pillows could have been better. The kettle was dirty inside so we couldn’t use it. No breakfast options but go to magpie bakery nearby for great coffee and pastries! Coffeewerk and press is next door abc has really great coffee, better than the instant maxwell house provided by the hotel.
Car parking is in the Spanish arch car park at €10 a day, good price and seconds walk from the hotel. Crazy corn and the dough bros are great spots for dinner and only a few minutes walk away!
I would absolutely stay here again in my next trip to Galway!

Room Tip: Avoid the front rooms because of noise, they are the bigger rooms

I loved this place. First of all, all the people I spoke to at the reception desk were all nice and helpful. As a solo woman traveler, they even helped to carry my bags upstairs since there is no elevator. The thing I appreciated the most about them is their honesty. The rooms are small and there is loud music, but that is known before you even book the room. I requested a room in the back and didn't hear anything. The room width is the length of the bed. After the first night, I did ask if I could change rooms and be on a lower floor due to knee issues and they were able to accommodate me. They helped me move my luggage.
The second night I didn't sleep well because the guest in the room next to me had the TV on all night. When I mentioned that to the front desk the next morning, she told me to let them know because that is something they would address with the guest.
The rooms are clean. The shower has great water pressure. In room air conditioning is a must for me. I felt safe in the hotel.
Thank you so much Rory and staff for making the start of my Ireland vacation a pleasure!

This is a very clean hotel. Our room was a double bed and a loft, single bed. It was a good size. The problem with our room is it was on the busy street and the bars are open until very late with people standing outside the bars, making a lot of noise. Then in the morning you have to contend with garbage and trucks picking up empty kegs. Our friends had a more central room with only a skylight for a window. Their room was completely quiet. There are some give-and-take. The location is fantastic. parking is easy around the corner with discounted rates I believe $10 a day. I would stay here again just not in the same room.

When a hotel issues you earplugs in the room and doesn’t tell you why, be alert-it will not be a place for a tourist who wants a good night sleep. It’s very noisy even on a weekday night. The room is so small that 2 people can’t move freely and if you have 2 carry-on bags, you have to worry how to open them. If you don’t have those mini converters, you can’t charge your electronics. You may accidentally turn on the light in the sleep because the light switch is right by the bed. It can cause claustrophobia…. To be fair, it does locates in the busy quarter with easy access to sites and restaurants / bars, just not very comfortable. If the price is comparable to other bigger rooms, it may be ok, but it’s so expensive.

Excellent location - it’s right in the heart of the Latin Quarter. Stayed here for two nights and it is tight, but you can easily make it work with two people. There’s space underneath the bed for luggage and as long as only one person is in the bathroom, you’ll have space. There is a TV and plenty of charging outlets. Our room had a little window in the ceiling where we could open it to get fresh air/sunlight. The checkin process was easy and the front desk was really helpful in outlining what were some good spots to visit. There’s a vending machine in the hallway but there’s also a liquor store right by the hotel. They provided a kettle with Barry’s tea as well as coffee.

No lifts and LOTS of stairs - absolutely do not stay here if you have any mobility issues at all. The Residence, a couple of doors down, has lifts! Nicely furnished, very chic & cool. No breakfast available. Booked a "Snug Superior" Room - everything you needed & gorgeous trendy bathroom, but bed could only be accessed from one side, the other being right up against the window wall. Utterly horrible for older people - scrambling over another person to go to the loo in the night is not what you expect for €243! Great location, right in the middle of the Saturday night action. However, Quay Street still very noisy at 2am on Sunday morning and even though the room had good double glazing & a/c, the noise was still too much for a good night's sleep. Price + clambering up stairs & over beds would prevent me from recommending this hotel. There are others on Quay Street...

Its called the Snug Townhouse- so you should be expecting a smaller room. However, the quality of the the rooms is excellent, and it is not lacking for any in-room amenities, just square footage. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had wonderful water pressure.
For better or for worse, the hotel is located right in the middle of Quay Street, which is a popular bar and restaurant area- great if you want to be located in the middle of everything, but also not the most quiet location. The hotel provided us with earplugs, which I did use for one of the two nights, but honestly, we were so busy during the days and evenings, and the bed was comfortable, so neither of us had any trouble falling asleep.

This nice hotel is located right in the middle of the party area. The rooms are modern and clean. However, if you are sensitive to noise, you should not stay here. The staff are super friendly and very helpful. The parking garage nearby offers a discount for guests of this hotel.

We stayed in the Snug last night. When we checked in the receptionist told us she was upgrading us to a different room with no window. We didn't think too much about it until we got to the room no 16. The room itself was really well furnished, immaculate bathroom and very comfortable bed. However, I felt totally claustrophobic as the night went on and hardly slept. Charging 275 euro for a room with no window I think is a tad excessive , a pity because the Snug is very central to everything.

Really lovely place but just don’t stay here at the weekend if you want to sleep before 2am.
Really sorry to leave a review like this- stayed for 3 nights (Wed-Saturday), the first two nights were great, but on Friday night we discovered our room shared a wall with a late night bar that played super loud music (all your favourite club tunes) until 2am.
Other than that everything was great, rooms are compact but have everything you need (lovely shower, clean and modern interior, comfy bed and a big TV)
We let them know about the noise on check out and whilst they did apologise, the said they had already done everything in their power to soundproof the room & ‘that’s the trade off for being in the centre of the city’. I appreciate that, but do think there should be some mention of it on their website because listening Flo-rida with the bass turned up at 2am was pretty a unpleasant way to round off what otherwise would have been a nice stay.
