Highly recommended when visiting Galway. I like the homely vibe. The location is excellent. Looking forward to another visit soon. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. My companions all loved it too. Very comfortable bed.
After reading the reviews we thought we found the perfect spot for our family to stay while in Galway. We were wrong. We left after one night...would have left first night but we were exhausted after long day of exploring Ireland. The house itself is very cluttered and dusty. The bedding is old and the bathroom was dirty. Be careful if you decide to stay here.
This was the first place we stayed on our first trip to Ireland. Could not have asked for better hosts. I loved this place because it was very charming and unique. A beautiful garden and home was a perfect setting for our group. Breakfast was delicious and the hospitality was wonderful. We were given a long list of things to do while we were there and I'm glad we took to the time to chat with our hosts. The next time I take a trip to Ireland, I will remember to book here.
We had a very nice room on the top floor. Beautiful lounge and breakfast room on the ground floor. Owners were very helpful and friendly including picking up laundry from a launderette while we were on a tour.
Jim and Bernie are wonderful hosts. Add in two delightful dogs and it made for a wonderful time in a wonderful place. The room was cozy and gave us a view of Galway Bay. The sun room and garden were amazing as well. The location made it easy to walk along the water with easy access to restaurants. If you do walk I recommend taking the path by the camper park across the street to get off the main road and onto a scenic byway made for walking/riding bikes. The breakfast was delicious - Jim makes a nice traditional Irish breakfast. There was also a good variety of cereal and other breakfast items.
We arrived after our first day learning how to drive “on the wrong side of the road” and were immediately greeted by Charlie, the cutest dog ever. He instantly took my anxiety away! The gardens were spectacular. And our hosts were incredibly inviting. Restaurants in walking distance
Loved the Fourwinds! Lovely B & B. Our room was quaint with a magnificent view of Galway Harbour. Beautiful glasses in breakfast and sitting room overlooking The spectacular garden! Our hosts were friendly and informative. Entire place was adorable, clean and welcoming. Our bathroom and shower were also great. The two dogs, Charlie and Chloe were delightful also! I would highly recommend this lovely B&B.
Jim was a lovely host and even gave us umbrellas on those couple of nasty days. My favorite room was the largdd sun room which we also ate at. The front gardens you looked at were stunning even early may. Impeccably clean, want for nothing
A small but affordable room on the third floor provided us with a wonderful view. A spacious sunroom helps you to enjoy a beautiful gardens in the front yard. Our host Jim was very friendly and provided us with a wealth of information. The breakfast provided was very good each morning. Very tight parking if you’re driving. Overall I would recommend this beautiful little lodge.
When a B and B advertises "free wifi" you expect to use wifi in your room. Not so at Fourwinds Lodge. The only wifi is in the entryway. So, to email friends and relatives there you sit! This place is worn out. There is cozy and homey but the fabric on the love seat in our room was torn with stuffing coming out. No amenities like special toiletries. The shower was little. Breakfast is an extra charge! Two stars. One for a firm mattress and one for a nice view. Give this place a wide berth.
