Food great and waiting staff excellent. However if you attend the Huntsman you’re at serious risk because very poor Covid social distancing or safety measures enforced. Seem locals (mostly middle aged men) use it as their local wet pub. We saw 15-17 (probably from different households) take over one end of pub near us. They were walking round, to toilet / in and out for ciggies etc, lots of drink and little if any food. none would wear face masks when away from their table area, even though signs everywhere say should wear masks. They would stand, talking (very loud) in walk ways, making it very uncomfortable for others to get to toilet. Staff were apologising for them. The authorities should close it down in interests of public health. AJ (Galway)

Well, delighted they are back open again, the Huntsman is just the best breakfast in Galway, I have tried most items on the menu and never disappointed, even the grilled tomato is beautifully seasoned and grilled, you have to try the potato on the breakfast, wow,,, we love to treat ourselves here, and the children rave about the pancakes, we are never disappointed with the huntsman, breakfast, lunch and dinner is super.

Went for Sunday lunch, ordered fish with mash potatoes and veg, when it arrived veg and mash had being substitute for something else, without telling us, the dinner was so small it wouldn’t have filled a 5 year old, told the waitress when she asked was everything ok, a waiter then came to our table and asked, what was the problem, we told him we never seen a Sunday lunch so small, and it was €15.99! He just said he would let them know in the kitchen, just brushed it off, we will never eat there again 😡

Had the mini breakfast here last month with my friend and it was absolutely delicious. There was a little of everything and it was served piping hot, which can sometimes be difficult to get in a restaurant. We will definitely return for another breakfast. Well done.
