The Hyde Hotel captivates guests with its spacious and tastefully appointed rooms, boasting comfortable beds and a clean ambiance, although a handful of visitors have pointed out cleanliness concerns and dated layouts. While opinions on value vary, with some appreciating the economical breakfast and updated rooms, others have faced disappointing service. The hotel's atmosphere, however, consistently receives accolades for its modern charm and welcoming vibe.
Despite occasional lapses in dining service, staff members generally earn praise for their warmth and professionalism. The establishment's prime location is a hit among guests, offering easy access to local sights and city life. Amenities are deemed adequate, with the lack of A/C noted by some patrons.

We stayed at the Hyde Hotel for two nights. The location of the hotel is great, just about a five minute walk from the Latin Quarter/Quay Street, but set back enough that you don't get the late night noise. Check in was easy and parking was conveniently located just around the corner (the hotel also has a 40% discount for the garage).
We did not eat in the restaurant, but we had drinks both nights and the food smelled great. The bartenders and waiters were friendly and knowledgeable. The connected Wylde cafe was convenient for a grab and go breakfast on our way out of town, including gluten-free options.
The actual rooms were somewhat spacious and had a large bathroom. The beds were firm, but comfortable. There was no AC in the rooms, but they did provide fans and the window opened, which was cool enough for us to sleep comfortably, even with the window closed overnight. There is only one very small elevator for the entire hotel which can be somewhat annoying when waiting to use it after a long day. When we checked out of the hotel, the front desk staff was very curtious and asked if we needed directions or recommendations for where we were going. If we were to go back to Galway, we would certainly stay at the Hyde again.

Excellent location for getting around by train and bus, you take just a few steps with your suitcases between the train station and the hotel and between the hotel and the bus terminal you just need to cross the street, very practical. Just a few steps from the central square and the main tourist attractions, ideal for exploring the entire small city on foot. The hotel is beautiful, friendly service, modern and comfortable room, complimentary water served in the room. The breakfast is great, there are vegetarian options.

We really did enjoy our stay at The Hyde. Ellen at the front desk was very helpful booking us into another room after our first room was smelly and hot, as it was directly above the trash and recycling bins. Asked for a change and we were given room 128, which is a very nice room off the front of the hotel, spacious, a little noisy, but with better light and air flow. It is a triple room. The rooms themselves are nicely appointed, and comfortable, but the details in the bathroom, while very chic, leave something be desired in the final finishing. The hotel is freshly redone, so I have a feeling the pressure was on to finish painting and surfaces. All in all, the hotel is very nice, and offers a laundry service too which was greatly appreciated. We also enjoyed the breakfast, but the service was a little spotty and the food just okay for the price. Very convenient though. Overall a solid 4.5 stars all considered. For the price, not sure if there's a better hotel in Galway center.

I had recommended this Hotel to family coming to Galway city from the USA So we decided we’d have dinner there as they had been travelling So 5 of our group were residents and the service was terrible .. we had a table of 10 and had to constantly get up to look for service all evening before during and after dinner! It was a pity but that is my 2 nd time there inside a 6 month period but I did feel the food had improved and tastier but the group of us thought the service was just terrible and decided not to let it ruin our evening We all felt it was a pity and that the staff were not friendly really bar one blonde girl who was looking after us later that evening was very nice and well trained ! The visitors loved my recommendations for the central location and hotel style .. they were happy with their bedrooms but very disappointed with the service in the dining room too and thought €10 for deserts were a bit high for what they had !

Modern hotel near Eyre Square. King bed was very comfortable. Door onto small balcony made the room bright and brought in fresh air. Street noise was very minimal with balcony door closed. The restaurant and bar were up-to-date and provide a great setting. Walking to all of the attractions on Quay Street and the harbor area was easy and delightful. Highly recommend.

Rooms comfortable lovely decor could not fault the rooms, our rooms we're not ready they we're a little bit late we didn't mind that it can happen. The reception staff we're very helpful they tried their best to get the rooms ready. So we thought we could go for some lunch in the restaurant I know there was 17 of ús we were a hen party the girl who came to the door to ús was very abrupt and said we need to book they we're full up but we went in through the restaurant and there we're loads of tables available she recommended a place nearby but the food was not nice. This is not good for business she didn't want to even listen to us, if we didn't want lunch we had nowhere to sit and we would have congested the reception. That evening we had dinner which was booked but the manager on then Roshin was very helpful and couldn't do enough for ús. The food was beautiful too. So thanks Roshin for your hospitality, we really enjoyed our time.

Dear W9307QMbrendag Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback following your recent stay with us here at the Hyde. It was lovely to welcome you all in to celebrate your Hen getaway recently and great to hear you were happy with your rooms finding the decor lovely and again I do apologize for the slight delay experienced upon arrival. I am sorry to learn that we were unable to look after your group for lunch given the business levels on the day but was glad we were able to arrange an area for pre-dinner drinks and ensure you were well looked after for dinner. Great to hear you all enjoyed and found the food great. Hope you all had an amazing time at your show thereafter. Hopefully we will have the opportunity in welcoming you all back in with us in the future when your travels take you back to Galway. Kindest Regards Roisin McGee General Manager

Centrally located Galway hotel, fast and efficient check-in. The first problems started with the room: the bathroom needs a deep renovation, there was a noticeable crack between the tub and the wall and above all the toilet flush didn't work properly. Another big problem was the breakfast which is served in the adjacent bar (moreover very popular in the evening): there is no buffet and the "à la carte" orders include very few choices with no possibility of having a sweet one, I was very annoyed by the fact that the waitress told me I could go buy something sweet at a pastry shop two blocks away. Another unacceptable thing from my point of view was discovering that cappuccino and sparkling water were not included. I was very disappointed, I have always traveled around the world and I think that for more than 300 euros a night you have to offer much more

We stayed at the Hyde Hotel for 5 nights in August 2022. It is very convenient to both the bus and train station (we came on the bus and left on the train). The hotel is located in a great location for restaurants and pubs but not too close to the pedestrian shopping areas so the crowds and street noise are minimal. The front desk staff were always friendly and helpful and knew us by our room numbers by the end of our stay. The rooms were very comfortable and had a fan, which was nice since the rooms can get warm in August. We got the breakfast as a part of our stay and the service was always fast. They were happy to let you pick and chose from the standard breakfast menu. We would definitely go back to this hotel.

This hotel was quite a splurge for us so pleased to report our Superior Double + Single room was beautiful and felt quite luxurious. It was a very large room with small table and bench and enough room to do yoga in the morning! We noticed on the floor plans that were in one of the extra large rooms so not all will be this good. Beautiful wallpaper, furniture, bedding and bathroom. For the price we would have liked a mini fridge and fresh milk for the coffee. Had a hen's group in rooms next door so some noise when they returned but thankfully room otherwise quite soundproof (with window shut). Felt that breakfast was pretty run-of-the mill Irish hotel breakfast just with larger servings - would have liked to have seen quality bread and more refined plated food. Enjoyed a lovely Irish gin in the bar in the evening.

Pro's: Great check in staff. Comfortable mattress. Location is great for Galway city
Con's: Bathroom dated and a bit dirty. Shower curtain is too long. Hot, stuffy room and no aircon or fan. Too noisy to open the window (we had a room at the front of the hotel) No shampoo, etc - only body wash No iron/board Lots of noise from corridors and neighbouring rooms
We paid a lot for the room so were quite disappointed with what we got for the price (although we did stay over NYE)

Dear SarahS2310 Thank you for taking the time to post your review following your recent stay with us here at the Hyde Hotel. Your feedback is very much appreciated. I am delighted to see you found the hotel to be well located within Galway City, finding our reception team to be great and had a comfortable nights sleep, I am however disappointed to learn of your concerns outlined above which does not live up to our usual high standards. We are currently in the process of refurbishing our remaining few bathrooms bringing them up to the same quality as our new rooms. We hope you enjoyed your overall experience in Galway for New Years and sincerely hope that we will have the opportunity in welcoming you back in with us should your travels take you back to Galway in the future. Apologies only seen this now. Most hotels in Ireland do not have a/c as they don’t need it as temperatures are moderate all year round. It’s not an issue in Ireland unlike other southern European countries like Spain n Portugal where you defo need a/c
Good Afternoon, Thank you for your email. We do not have a pool at the Forster Court Hotel, however we do offer discounted passes to a nearby gym for our hotel guests.

The room did not come with a mini fridge but I’m sure you can call the concierge and ask if they have one. I don’t see why not; the service was excellent!
Hi,
A taxi rank is available just up the road from our hotel, but our front desk team would be happy to book one for you should you request this on or after your arrival. A taxi from the hotel to the hospital would be approximately 5 minutes, traffic permitting. Please see also the timetable for the 402 bus, which would depart from Eyre Square and drop off outside the University Hospital front gate.
Kind Regards,
Douglas Niland
