Great location. Having stayed nearby on a previous trip, I knew where to find the public car park that the hotel validated at a discount next day. Great location opposite the bus station, near Eyre Square and an easy walk to the Latin Quarter. Lovely restaurant for an easy dinner after spending the afternoon sipping whiskey in the Latin Quarter. The room was small, but this was a one-night stay. Not the greatest value when compared to others on this trip, but that's Galway.

Three of us sat down for dinner on a very busy night. As soon as we sat down I thought this works be a 5 star experience. Great vibe. Amazing cocktails. Our first server took our order and our drinks came swiftly delivered by the engaging and efficient Wesley. Our food order was never submitted but Hannah came to our rescue. There were apologies from the manager and a relatively quick delivery of starter and meal which were fabulous. Then the manager returned because she realized the alert that I had a nut allergy hadn’t made it’s way to the chef! OMG. Well I was fine but e were surprised that there were no amendments to it check. Is that only an American thing, that you get comped after at least one big mistake?

Great location, very pleasant staff and the food was excellent. We travelled as a group to play golf in the area and the hotel was ideal. From the welcome at reception, through to the bar staff and restaurant it was faultless. Our twin room on the second floor was ideal with a small balcony.

If you want a place to stay in downtown Galway the location is great. But don't bring a car. You have to park in a parking garage behind the hotel (near the bus station) and bring the bags around a city block to the hotel. Staff was lovely and friendly, but the room was small. Beds not comfortable. Lots of city and transportation noise. And the shower only had ridiculously hot water that was burning. Breakfast was expensive for what it was.

This was a great hotel for a girls' trip to Ireland and I would absolutely stay here again. Staff was very friendly and helpful - don't hesitate to ask them for recommendations on where to eat or what to do! They were also very kind as to hold our luggage after checkout so that we could explore the city before our afternoon train to Dublin. The room was perfectly clean and I loved that we had a triple so that we each had our own beds! There were plenty of outlets for all our charging gear and the beds were comfortable. My only complaints would be that the room was very hot overnight (though we turned the temperature down), and the toilet was very weak (not uncommon in Europe, I know, but also a bit frustrating for three girls getting ready in the morning!) Still, minor things. The hotel is very well located. There is a grocery store across the street, the train station is a block or two away, and so is Eyre Square and the downtown area. For Starbucks addicts, there is one in the train station, but there are also so many other local spots and European chains nearby. Overall, a great experience all around.

When you stay a a hotel you are looking for a clean and comfortable room, pleasant staff and good food. Well the Hyde has all of this . It is rare to find every member of staff you meet to be smiling and helpful but this was our experience here.It also has one of the best furnished and decorated restaurants we have been in for a long time and the food and the service matched the surroundings Well done to everyone ten out of ten

I had an amazing stay here with my girlfriend. The room was really comfortable, the location was so central and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend staying here! There was a beautiful restaurant on site with a fantastic variety on the menu for both dinner and brunch. The quality of the food was exceptional. The hotel has really nice boutique / chic vibe and is far removed from the corporate look and feel of a chain. Top marks for a great stay!

First the good: it’s undoubtedly a great location. A short walk to everything. And the room was clean. Now the bad: The room, while clean, was appointed in a rather spartan manner. Specifically, there was literally no place to place our large suitcases such as a suitcase stand. This could have been mitigated had there been some kind of furniture piece with a few drawers (other than the desk and night stands) but alas, there was not. Another issue was the shower. It had one of those flimsy curtains that would contract into the tub enclosure when the water is running and stick to your body while you tried to bathe. Perhaps the biggest issue of all was the bed. Now, I didn’t book the room. My wife did, as she always does when we travel to the EU because she likes to do the research and has an amazing record of picking out great hotels. She booked a “standard king room” at the Hyde. It turned out, much to our surprise that a king bed is really a double bed-way smaller than we expected and way smaller than we have ever experienced in our travels to Europe. As much as we love each other we need to have more bed real estate for a good night’s sleep. As far as the breakfast is concerned, I would recommend not paying the extra and going off property to eat. With the number of restaurants in close proximity it should be pretty easy to find something more satisfying .

Dear U9166AGjimb Thank you for taking the time to post a review following your stay with us here at the Hyde Hotel. We are pleased to see you found our location to be great and room to be clean. Your feedback in regards to your room is much appreciated and will be reviewed accordingly. In relation to your room type having reviewed your booking a standard king room was reserved during the booking stage. This room type was allocated upon check in. Our king bed size is 5" x 6"6 which is standard within EU however we do have rooms available which offer a super king bed. I do believe our team members offered a room move to facilitate this during your stay which was declined. We hope to have the opportunity in welcoming you back in with us should your travels take you back to Ireland in the future. Kind Regards Roisin McGee General Manager

Booked a king room. The bed was queen size. Complained and got a lesson about euro king vs the king we were expecting . Was told this is what they offer in Ireland and throughout Europe . Funny thing is this is the third hotel we’ve stayed at in Ireland and 1st bed that was like this… and have travelled extensively through Europe and have never had a bed this small that is supposed to be a king. Breakfast was not worth the price and the “courtyard view” was the roof of a smaller building.

Dear NRSAtraveler Thank you for your review following your stay with us here at the Hyde Hotel. Having looked into your reservation NRSAtraveler during your stay with us the room type reserved was for a room with a King Bed. Our King bed sizes are 5"x6"6 however we do have rooms available which offer super king bed sizes which can be reserved directly online or through our reservations team. During your stay having brought your concern to us we did offer a room move to one of our rooms with a super king bed which was politely declined. I am disappointed that we did not exceed in your expectations during your stay with us and sincerely appreciate your feedback. It would be great to have the opportunity in welcoming you back in with us should your travels take you back to Ireland in the future. Kindest Regards Roisin McGee General Manager

The accommodation was great. We had to wait 30 minutes to get served breakfast. When we complained it arrived immediately. The scrambled egg had a crust on it from being left out. The whole breakfast was cold and was not cooked fresh.
