We loved the Lawndale b&b! Margaret and her team are so accommodating and are the most knowledgeable about things to do in the area. We go to Ireland every year and will make a point to stay at Lawndale b&b again. It is a half mile walk to Galway city and the breakfast is fantastic!

We stayed here for one night. On average, I was pleased with the lodge conditions, the breakfast was really ok, but it's not that much a modern b&b. The double bedroom was so tiny, barely get to move around, and the bathroom was the same. You could hear from one room to another, the wooden stairs were so squeaky. I'd... More

Booked our family vacation about 30 days prior to our July visit, which is high season in Galway. Arrived late in the evening, but Margaret the innkeeper greeted us with a warm smile. A family of 5 required two rooms, which were clean and comfortable. Shower and bathroom facilities in each room was appreciated. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, too.... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and were in love! The location was great -- about a 10 minute walk from city center and a 4 minute walk from the beautiful bay. The house was lovely both inside and out and our room and bathroom were spotlessly. The beds were very comfortable and Margaret was charming (and she knows how... More

This was an absolutely delightful and affordable stay in the perfect location between Salthill and Galway and with a hostess who could not have offered more to make us comfortable. Margaret is without question one of the best hostesses we've ever encountered in many years of world travel. First, the rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. The location is quiet... More

Margaret was a lovely, straight forward hostess who tried to ensure our visit was comfortable. We did switch rooms during our stay. Our first night in the downstairs room had a very uncomfortable bed. I say this because we could feel the springs because the mattress and was dated and flat. Our bed in the next room was much better.... More

Traditional B&B Cleaner than a sterile area in hospital, Margret was a great host nothing it appeared would deter her from absolute perfection and good old Irish hospitality. My room was small but well appointed with a nice en suite I had a good nights sleep and a lovely breakfast, Lawndale is 15 mins walk from downtown Galway and 10... More

We called on the off chance of a reservation, Margaret was very welcoming and we had a cosy nights stay. Breakfast was really nice. It is literally 2 mins from Galway bay which is gorgeous! The price was very reasonable at 65 Euros for the night, it also had free Wifi!

“Go for the room with the updated full bathroom if you can. We lucked out and got it, and it was awesome. The rest of the rooms looked to have a 1 person shower. On the flip side, if you want a view of the bay, you'd need a room facing the street.”

“Check ahead to make sure the B&B takes credit cards. Most do not and being prepared with close to exact change is helpful. I recommend eating breakfast at the airport in Shannon if you arrive early AM before picking up a rental car, since we were unable to find a place open until after 10AM for breakfast.”
