The hotel does look a bit tired in places particularly the Reception area and Dining area. They could definitely do with a make over and a change in furniture. However it makes up for it in other ways, the bedroom was spotlessly clean and very roomy. The shower was super powerful and hot water was instant. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel has a nice swimming pool and gym which is free of charge and there is plenty of free parking. Breakfast was fine with the cooked breakfast being served and it was nice and hot when it arrived. We are in the restaurant for evening dinner and it was superb it looks like the good food with generous helpings attracts the locals from the area. Unfortunately checking in and checking out was a very robotic and impersonal experience and it would have expected to been asked when checking out was everything ok? Overall though a positive experience and I would recommend this hotel…
The room was very worn & run down. It wasn’t what I would expect for a room at £170 a night & a lodge & spa. Not very relaxing when the room is in need of some serious tlc & cleaning. There were holes in the boiled blood on others. The sides of all voiles were badly frayed & torn. The furniture had chunks missing the telephone in the room had half the buttons missing. I explained at check out the issues and was told they weren’t aware. I wouldn’t stay away as I feel the room was over priced for what we got.
We stayed here for one night post an awards ceremony, next morning I lost my engagement ring where it rolled behind the dressing table. I cannot thank the staff and gentleman who came in from home to dismantle the furniture and retrieve my ring. Breakfast was well over by then and we were accomadated with the full menu , a very sincere thank you to all the hotel staff , so kind, professional and helpful. Sinead
I'd never stayed in the Rochestown Lodge Hotel before but it was recommended to me. Never again. For the price, they really need to give you a decent standard of service and decent rooms. I found the staff quite lazy - they need to update their CS Skills. Definitely not worth the money and I won't be back or recommending them. Very disappointing.
Huge shout out to the staff who helped with my specific requirements when they really weren't obliged to. Really was appreciated! Thanks for the Easter egg on Sunday too. Super comfortable and clean room 10 mins away from our morning appointment. I understand this is an expensive area in Dublin so not surprised breakfast wasn't included in a €200 room. We did order room service and it was delicious! Highly recommended if staying in the area. Thanks a lot for everything.
I'm not sure why this hotel was recommended because we were there on business and had appointments every day in Dublin city center. Someone who works for the hotel suggested it. It's a 30 minute 30 euro taxi ride everywhere we needed to go. I've never een to Dublin. I wish I had checked google maps first. It's too far to go back and forth to Dublin more than twice. Shockingly, one day we got back to our room and housekeeping threw away ALL of our receipts which we were saving for tax purposes. Who does that? When I mentioned it to the gentleman at the desk he said, "oh I hate it when that happens". Why does that happen? Be sure you bring all the toiletries you'll need including body wash or soap. They provide a tiny 2x2 x 1/4 inch piece of soap. No lotion, just a small shampoo & conditioner. Bring them to the pool too because nothing is provided in the showers, not even soap. We stayed for 5 days and finally wanted to use the spa on our last night, which closes at 9:00.. We raced back after dinner in Dublin and arrived at 8:40 only to be told they were closing in 10 minutes to cool things down. Oh and bring a bathing cap if you want to use the pool. All women and MEN are required to wear one. We were told the last day that breakfast was included. It would have been nice to know that the first day!. It's a lovely hotel, just be warned to check where you plan on going before booking your stay.…
We stayed for 4 nights 18th - 22nd March. We received a warm welcome as we checked in. Our room was wonderful - very large with an extremely comfortable king size bed. The full Irish breakfast was excellent and we had 2 lovely meals in the restaurant, served by very friendly staff. We would definitely recommend staying in this hotel. We bought a LEAP card and had no problems with public transport to and from the airport and all around Dublin.
We were meant to be staying in the Royal Marine Hotel in Dunlaoghaire but one week prior to our stay they informed us that they could only put us up for three nights instead of 7. A lovely lady by the name of Hayley Doyle kindly arranged for the Rochestown Lodge to put us up instead. So glad she did. We had a lovely week. We had a king room for two of us. It was huge, a really lovely room with flat screen TV, en suite bedroom, extensive storage, central heating and a sofa. We had access to a lovely swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi and gym. There is also a spa which was closed due to Covid. The food was really good and plenty of it. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Couldn't do enough for you. Covid safety was taken very seriously and the hotel was spotless. There is a small shopping centre 5 mins walk and there are 3 to 4 bus stops within walking distance of the hotel. I would fully recommend the Rochedtown Lodge Hotel. The brown Soda Bread at Breakfast was fabulous. I really would stay in this hotel again. 9/10 in my book. Mary and Lyn Clifford.…
Stayed on Sunday, 24th October for one night (wish we could have stayed longer). Lovely staff on check-in & check out and apologies I did not get the names. Forgot to book for dinner and went to bar at 7.30 pm where both restaurant & bar were extremely busy and yet a lovely lady spoke with us and told us not to worry that they would get us a table soon. I told her there was no rush as it was or fault for not booking (as had been advised to us upon check-in) and we were happy to wait. Less than 10 mins later she had us seated and we were very well looked after. Food was beautiful and lovely menu. Bar floor staff very attentive with table service. Lovely atmosphere in the bar mostly due to the lovely staff. Looking forward to a return visit and well done to all.
My stay in the Rochestown lodge was enjoyable but I have to say my whole trip was made 100000 times better by the upbeat , friendly and accommodating waitress Lauren. She was so warm and friendly from start to finish being very thorough and even going beyond her job expectations to talk, play and accommodate the kids of the family who were getting tired and restless. She was so nice and friendly towards me my grandmother asked if I knew her ! I have never met someone better at their job and with actual care and love for her job, I informed her manager she deserves a massive raise ! She made my night :) well done Lauren, I’ll definitely be back purely because of this girl ! X
