Situated on the seafront in Dun Laoghaire, Haddington House has panoramic views of Dublin Bay. Originally four Victorian townhouses the hotel began its life as Haddington House, a finishing school for girls, before being converted into a hotel in the 1950s. We are continuing to develop the hotel property but in keeping with the unique heritage of the building. Our fifty en suite bedrooms have flat screen multi-channel TV's, free WiFi, Nespresso coffee machines, digital radios, hair dryers and filtered still and sparkling water. Our newer 'Classic' and 'Deluxe' rooms also come with an in-room safe, a mini fridge stocked with fresh milk, as well as a complimentary Irish Times. Most of the rooms in these categories also have spectacular sea views. Oliveto, the award-winning restaurant with views of the sea, serves Italian-inspired fare and is extremely popular so booking is highly recommended. There's also some unique spaces to try while you stay: The Parlour, which serves cocktails during the evening as well as offering Afternoon Tea on weekends, and The Garden Bar, offering drinks and pizzas overlooking Dun Laoghaire's coast line. The location is hard to beat with Dun Laoghaire DART station just a 5-minute walk away which provides regular rail connections to Dublin's city centre. The Aviva Stadium and the RDS can be reached after a 10-minute DART rail journey. If you're staying in the area, we have partnered up with a number of local businesses so guests can enjoy discounts on activities. The beautiful village of Dalkey is a short trip down the coast and is great for an afternoon's ramble. Directly opposite us is the historic east pier which was built especially for the arrival of Queen Victoria in 1900. Around the corner is the National Maritime Museum and the James Joyce Tower made famous by Ulysses is just a 5-minute walk away. If you fancy a dip, we'll supply you with towels for a visit to the well-known swimming spot, the 40 foot (beware of the seals!) We look forward to welcoming you to Haddington House.

We live locally and are regulars at the beer garden - great service and unrivalled views of Dublin Bay! Perfect on a sunny day with a partner, friends or family. The pizzas are great - try the Gameberi - and the Guinness is class! Shout out to Mark and the staff who are all lovely! Definitely worth a visit if you're in Dun Laoghaire, it's right beside the pier.

Haddington House is an interesting place that contains a great restaurant and a number of nice bars and it’s a hotel. Parking is good as indeed is the public transport on the DART. Food and cocktails in the restaurant were really good. Food excellent. Recommended.

Dun Laoghaire (pronounced ~ "Dun Lairy") is a sea-side suburb of Dublin. It took 10-15 minutes to get into the city by train. The hotel was beautiful, staff was charming. They set up bicycles for us to use (for free). We rode to the 40 Foot (where we swam) and then to Dalkey. Just lovely. Delicious breakfasts and Olivetto's for dinner was top-notch as well. Having stayed in the city on prior trips (The Conrad and Jury's Inn) we were a bit hesitant about being 'away from the center.' We all agreed that our stay was so much nicer!

My friends and I had a great stay at the Haddington. From the minutes we checked in by the lovely receptionist to the friendly bar staff, restaurant waiters and Manager when leaving, it felt very personal and we had the same staff for our entire stay. The hotel is really tastefully furnished and we loved our pre dinner cocktails in the cocktail bar. We had a delicious dinner in the restaurant that evening and again we couldn’t fault it. Definitely felt more like a restaurant than ‘hotel food’. The breakfast the next morning was delicious and freshly made with a great choice. The hotel’s location is perfect as there’s free parking outside, across the road from the dart and within 5 mins walk into pretty Dunlaoighre. All in all I would highly recommend for a getaway break.

I've been to Haddington Hotel a number of times, in particular, the beautiful Oliveto restaurant & enjoyed the experience immensely. I decided to revisit the place last night to enjoy the normal conviviality. As always, I was greeted by a very pleasant managerial type person in a smart suit who took my order. After waiting for 30 minutes of no service, I left & recorded my displeasure with the very pleasant doorman, who duly apologised & offered to see that I got my drink. I declined & left & had my beverage in another establishment nearby. Needless to say, I was very disappointed, particularly since I've enjoyed such great experiences on previous occasions when I've been there for various events such as communions, confirmations, birthdays & anniversaries. I hope this is a one off glitch & I will go back again because it is such a fabulous setting.

My wife had her baby shower here with some friends and family. The entire experience was top class. The food, the service, the helpfulness of all staff. It was an incredibly special day and one we’ll never forget thanks to this fantastic venue and their team.

Stayed for the second time at the Haddington last week. I love everything about the place from the location, the staff, the bar and the restaurant. The staff were so lovely when my mother joined us for breakfast and accommodated her preference to eat outside since she is still shielding. This isn't something they normally offer but were kind enough to make an exception. The bar is so cosy but at the same time spacious. Fab place for a night cap or an expertly mixed cocktail. We will definitely be back.

Haddington house was a real find. We stayed 2 nights to celebrate our birthdays. The car park was a little tricky to find as it's actually on a different road...but it has dedicated spaces for the hotel, so didn't have any problems parking. The staff at the hotel are helpful, friendly and approachable. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We ate at the oliveto restaurant on our first night...the food was delicious. He biggest surprise is the parlour...it's a cocktail bar.and all I can say is their raspberry cosmopolitan is devine. Amazing!!! Luke the barman was quite amazing too. Breakfast was delicious. All in all this is a great place to stay. We're looking forward to heading back when the weather improves as they have a great outside area too. To be honest I just felt the photos on their website don't do it justice, particularly the outside ones.

This hotel is beautiful and clean. From the staff to the beautifully decorated rooms and gorgeous cocktails I can’t recommend it enough! The bed was so comfortable and the rainfall shower was just pure luxury, even the wee touches like the hot water bottle, swimming bag, coffee machine and tea cakes really made all the difference. The lady on reception was very welcoming and friendly and recommended a few lovely places to eat in the area. We had some cocktails in the bar and the staff couldn’t have been nicer from the girl who served us to the bar man. He was so friendly and made the nicest raspberry cosmopolitan. To top this place off, the scenery outside was just stunning with the gorgeous pier. This place is an absolute hidden gem! Will definitely be back.
