Situated on the seafront in Dun Laoghaire, Haddington House has panoramic views of Dublin Bay. Originally four Victorian townhouses the hotel began its life as Haddington House, a finishing school for girls, before being converted into a hotel in the 1950s. We are continuing to develop the hotel property but in keeping with the unique heritage of the building. Our fifty en suite bedrooms have flat screen multi-channel TV's, free WiFi, Nespresso coffee machines, digital radios, hair dryers and filtered still and sparkling water. Our newer 'Classic' and 'Deluxe' rooms also come with an in-room safe, a mini fridge stocked with fresh milk, as well as a complimentary Irish Times. Most of the rooms in these categories also have spectacular sea views. Oliveto, the award-winning restaurant with views of the sea, serves Italian-inspired fare and is extremely popular so booking is highly recommended. There's also some unique spaces to try while you stay: The Parlour, which serves cocktails during the evening as well as offering Afternoon Tea on weekends, and The Garden Bar, offering drinks and pizzas overlooking Dun Laoghaire's coast line. The location is hard to beat with Dun Laoghaire DART station just a 5-minute walk away which provides regular rail connections to Dublin's city centre. The Aviva Stadium and the RDS can be reached after a 10-minute DART rail journey. If you're staying in the area, we have partnered up with a number of local businesses so guests can enjoy discounts on activities. The beautiful village of Dalkey is a short trip down the coast and is great for an afternoon's ramble. Directly opposite us is the historic east pier which was built especially for the arrival of Queen Victoria in 1900. Around the corner is the National Maritime Museum and the James Joyce Tower made famous by Ulysses is just a 5-minute walk away. If you fancy a dip, we'll supply you with towels for a visit to the well-known swimming spot, the 40 foot (beware of the seals!) We look forward to welcoming you to Haddington House.

I don’t often find myself in Dun Laoghaire but this hotel would encourage me to return. Stumbled across it when searching for accommodation for a business trip and couldn’t have been more pleased. Staff service was tremendous, hotel had a lovely feel to it, room was great and my breakfast was outstanding.

We enjoyed a visit to Haddington House to catch up with friends who were on a brief visit to Dun Laoghaire. Staff accommodated us even though it was their busy lunchtime. We had wine with great bread and best olives I’ve ever tasted. We loved the building and the ambience with great lobby seating where we watched the wonderful sea view.

We wanted a special break in one of our favourite coastal locations and the Haddington delivered in spadefuls. This is a 3 star hotel in a 5 star location with staff and facilities to match. From the moment we entered we were met with warm and attentive hospitality which only grew each day. We were so glad we booked a sea view room looking straight out at the lively east pier and everything Dublin Bay has to offer. We were so lucky to have visited during a dry, sunny spell which heightened our experience. Please, please if you stay, have at least one meal in the hotel restaurant (Oliveto) One of the best meals we have ever eaten and breakfast each morning was amazing and diverse. As an artist I was also impressed by the choice of hotel artwork and lobby decor. It is our understanding that the owners are planning an upgrade. We cannot wait to see the results. This little hotel is on an upward trajectory. It already has 4 stars in its service delivery (big shout out to the ladies at reception who were among the friendliest we've met) and location within easy reach of both Dublin city to the north and the opulent coastal villages and towns to the south. We wish them well on the next chapter of their historic journey thus far. We look forward to a return trip and heartily recommend you choose Haddington House. You won't be disappointed.

I love this hotel . It is small and beautifully decorated. Everywhere feels salubrious and unique. It’s is spotless and extremely well maintained. I love the whole ambiance which is helped by the superb staff who are very helpful and attentive. The cocktails and dinner in oliveto are delicious And breakfast is so delicious and freshly cooked to order with a beautiful view of the pier. There are bikes to use to cycle around the locality and even a swim in the 40 foot . I have returned numerous times and will continue as Sinead and her wonderful staff never disappoint. Well done everyone 🥰

Most everything you need in Dun Laoghaire is within 10-minute walk. Walk the pier, DART station, Aircoach stop, etc. Many good restaurants in that radius too. Room not spacious, but not small either. On-site restaurant is well regarded, but we chose another. Breakfast very nice. Great French Toast.

We booked direct with the hotel and the service from first point of contact, to the second we checked out, was excellent. We travelled with family who have limited mobility and Sinead couldn’t have done more to make sure our guests were in rooms that most suited their needs, taking time to e-mail to ensure that our visit worked for them. When we arrived we couldn’t have been happier with the beautiful location overlooking the sea and then more so when we entered the lovely decorated reception. All of the staff were professional and friendly, extra little shout out to the lovely doorman. The beautifully decorated Cocktail parlour served fantastic cocktails and the restaurant attached to the hotel served one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. We had rooms in different areas in the hotel, some recently had been renovated but all exceptionally clean. We were lucky to have beautiful weather right up until the day we checked out…Emma couldn’t have been more helpful ensuring that we stayed as dry as possible while making our way to the Dart (excellent train service) to head to Dublin, she really did go above and beyond to help my Dad stay dry in his wheelchair. Thank you all for a wonderful stay and for making a very special family birthday weekend even more special. We hope to see you all again soon!

We were recommended the Haddington by a close friend and it did not disappoint. The decor is really cool, cosey and welcoming. The food was so delicious. My husband had the cured meat plate which definitely could be shared as it’s quite substantial and I had the rosemary sourdough with 12 year aged balsamic and both were gorgeous and set the tone for the main course. My husband had the pork and I had the chicken which came with lovely roast potatoes. Both dishes were deliciously tasty and full of quirky flavours… yum, yum, yum! I had the tiramisu and my husband had the chocolate mousse, again, delicious. So top marks on all courses. We had a lovely waiter called Alan and he was very professional, attentive and friendly. We enjoyed this impromptu visit so much that we purchased two vouchers for €100 each to spread the joy and gift to friends. PS the receptionist was very lovely also and chatted about the hotel and its progress, it was lovely to hear. Clearly the team are very happy in their surrounds. Thanks to everyone. We will definitely be back and looking forward to it already.

16 of us, all extremely well travelled, stayed at the hotel for 3 nights as we were playing golf at some of the top courses in Dublin. The staff were extremely polite and helpful and the rooms of a good standard. The breakfast is exceptional and I highly recommend the Irish cooked breakfast. We had dinner in the attached restaurant, Olivetto, which requires a booking ans it was packed. Excellent food and, once again, friendly and attentive service by the staff. They did, unfortunately, not bring out the main course of one of our group and he ended up eating his main course well after we’d all finished but they could do no more than apologise and take his meal off the bill. The hotel is in a lovely location overlooking the harbour & I would definitely stay here again.
