I'm just back from a 2 night stay in the Haddington Hotel and the whole experience was just perfect. From the helpful reception girl to the food and the rooms, the views and the location - we had a fantastic time. Make sure you ask for one of the new rooms with a view! We had organised an event on...

Not so Irish coffee. Definitely not whiskey sour, making a decent bill and we had to carry our stuff to the table... Because the guy at the bar was bored apart from not trained. Olives side could have more than 8 olives...

I stayed in Haddington House last week, and had booked it through a booking website where I was looking for good value and location when I was visiting the area. The hotel has recently undergone new ownership, and they are managing to keep the hotel open while they turn it from a somewhat run down, dated seaside hotel to a...

Extremely creaking floors, endless slamming doors, paper thin walls, unending koo-ing pigeons, one spare socket, no thermostat, no AC, no in-room safe, and hot-cold-warm-then-hot-again shower and you wonder why i gave it 3 stars. Building is old. Needs a refurb ASAP, and its seemingly 40% done, but it needs to be done now! The in-hotel restaurant (Oliveto's) is fabulous and...

This hotel enjoys an enviable location set just back from the seafront, although access by taxi was cramped. Our welcome was fine, the staff were at least pleasant throughout, and often better. Our room, however, was a disappointment. Having booked a double room, this hotel - that is undergoing refurbishment - we found that our room boasted two beds, one...

Wasn't looking forward to this trip..but pleasantly surprised. Not much parking but a member of staff removed his car to let us in. Didn't look great from the outside. But it was lovely. We had a room with two big Windows looking out over the bay. Room was clean and comfortable. We had our own coffee machine and a small...

nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff, clean and tidy. fairly basic but good, I'd stay again. After reading reviews on here I asked for a room on a higher floor, well worth it as the bar and restaurant is quite noisy.

Comfortable room, great location to walking pier and town, excellent wifi, good value. Has in-house restaurant (Oliveto) for breakfast and dinner. Restaurant has very good pizza, other courses aren't good values.

We visited with my 99 year old Grandmother. Nice location but the bar was very busy and noisy. The lobby was lovely and quiet with nice sofas and coffee tables, however we were told by the manager we could only be served tea or coffee in the lobby but no food or even cakes.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated on the seafront in Dun Laoghaire, Haddington House has panoramic views of Dublin Bay. Originally four Victorian townhouses the hotel began its life as Haddington House, a finishing school for girls, before being converted into a hotel in the 1950s. We are continuing to develop the hotel property but in keeping with the unique heritage of the building. Our fifty en suite bedrooms have flat screen multi-channel TV's, free WiFi, Nespresso coffee machines, digital radios, hair dryers and filtered still and sparkling water. Our newer 'Classic' and 'Deluxe' rooms also come with an in-room safe, a mini fridge stocked with fresh milk, as well as a complimentary Irish Times. Most of the rooms in these categories also have spectacular sea views. Oliveto, the award-winning restaurant with views of the sea, serves Italian-inspired fare and is extremely popular so booking is highly recommended. There's also two unique events spaces: The Library Bar and Oak Room, a lobby bar and a buzzy garden overlooking the sea complete with a Hut Bar. The location is hard to beat with Dun Laoghaire DART station just a 5-minute walk away which provides regular rail connections to Dublin's city centre. The Aviva Stadium and the RDS can be reached after a 10-minute DART rail journey. If you're staying in the area, we have partnered up with a number of local businesses so guests can enjoy discounts on activities. The beautiful village of Dalkey is a short trip down the coast and is great for an afternoon's ramble. Directly opposite us is the historic east pier which was built especially for the arrival of Queen Victoria in 1900. Around the corner is the National Maritime Museum and the James Joyce Tower made famous by Ulysses is just a 5-minute walk away. If you fancy a dip, we'll supply you with towels for a visit to the well-known swimming spot, the 40 foot (beware of the seals!) We look forward to welcoming you to Haddington House. ... more   less
