The most welcoming hosts who makes your stay feel like a home from home. Lovely accommodation, spotlessly clean and delicious full breakfast. Close to all amenities, bus routes and the National Rehabilitation Hospital.

Had a great stay at this beautiful house. Everything was clean and the rooms were great with very comfortable beds. Breakfast was delicious in the morning and Mabel is a great host! Great location - near Dun Laoghaire Dart station with lots of nice cafes and restaurants surrounding. Highly recommend!

I stayed at Connacht house a few times during 2020 as I was visiting my father in hospital. Mabel and Liam are wonderful hosts. Although our journey was a difficult one Mabel and Liam always made us smile and feel at home. Our room was very cosy and clean. Connacht house is very central to everything.

I found Liam and Mabel to be extraordinarily friendly, lovely and welcoming hosts. The house was beautiful and the location was great, while our room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was good and the price per night was very competitive. I would highly recommend this B & B to everyone.

The positives:-
Small, friendly, welcoming, accomodating.
Bedroom was fine. had wash basin, TV, Kettle + tea/coffee.
Breakfast fine, lots of options if you don't want / like the seemingly obligatory cooked breakfast
Price is competitive locally.
The location is fantastic, easy walking distance of the ferry terminal and DART station. has some free parking
The Negatives:-
One (shared) shower room + WC, on other WC on another landing.
Place was clean, no obvious housekeeping issues, although a pedant might query the cleaning of the grout in the shower room.
Summary
If you are looking for simple (relatively) cheap accomodation its a great place to go. if you want a base to explore Dublin it works being so close to the DART service. But despite the owners passion and welcome don't expect 5* facilties, but you do get more than you'd expect for the money you pay in and around Dublin. I wouldnt' hesitate to stay there again

I stayed in this B&B for one night as I was attending an event at the Pavilion Theatre. I had travelled from Dublin to Dun Laoghaire via the DART train which brings you almost up outside the B&B. It was a very short walk to the B&B and by going in the other direction it was a very short distance to the Pavilion Theatre so a prefect location for me. I felt very privileged as a got a room which had the view of the harbour, the train & the sea. To me it was a prefect view and because the weather was warm while I was there I kept the window open the whole night. The street noise was not too bad during the night and as it got into the early hours of the next day there was no noise at all. Well it was a Sunday. The room was simply furnished but that was all I needed. There was use of the free wifi and the bathroom was not far away and the next morning I had a lovely shower. My breakfast was the typical Irish breakfast so that kept me full for almost the rest of the day. My hosts were so friendly and welcoming and they gave me a key to the front door so I could come and go when it suited me. I really enjoyed staying here even though it was only the one night.

I found this B&B on Trip Advisor. My daughter was studying abroad for the summer in Ireland and insisted I come visit her. I started looking around the college for a place to stay. My sister-in-law suggested Dun Laoghaire where she grew up. I found the Connaught House. Old beautiful home with nice rooms. Price was great. Location ideal because it was just a jaunt to the DART. Most of important of all-the hosts Liam and Mabel. They were very accommodating, helpful, informative and their breakfasts were wonderful. I will stay here again.

Our decision to stay here was based on price, as hotels in Dublin were out of our budget; then we decided it may also be a nice change in our travels to stay by the sea, and in B&B accomodation instead of the usual hotels. We were not disappointed - Mabel and Liam were perfect hosts, so helpful with any information we required. Breakfast was wholesome and fresh -as little or much as you wanted; and of course the location -the sea out front, and the Dart station and town a short walk away. Rooms were very comfortable. The only downside (for us) was not having an ensuite - but then this is not always possible in B&B's, and the building is a very old (historical) one. A separate toilet was available as well as the bathroom. Overall, a very enjoyable experience - would definitely recommend for an Irish 'experience'.

You could think that my girlfriend and me would`ve been happy with just any type of accommodation , but what Mable and Liam kept waiting for us was just perfect. The location of the house is right at Dublin bay, the interior was wonderfully furnished and the room...our bedroom was the place I could sleep in forever. The housekeepers Liam and Mable helped us in any kind of way so we could feel like being at home. It was the best accommodation in Ireland during our 3-week trip.
