Patricia was absolutely wonderful and a great help! She answered questions we had, and she went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable during our stay. The hotel is also lovely and in such a nice location. It’s not far from bus stops, and it’s in a cute quiet area. Also, when you walk in, the lobby smells amazing because of the restaurant! I’d love to stay here again!
So I booked this hotel for 1 night for the Ed Sheeran Concert. I did it over the phone, and in plenty of time. I rung the week before to make sure my booking was ok to be told they would have to look into my booking to see if it was ok. So I asked can you and she wasn’t very friendly about doing her job. Anyway We arrived Saturday afternoon got greeted ok but we had to ask if breakfast was included which she said no had to pay €11.95 but then when she looked at our booking she said oh no your breakfast is included. We were in room NO:2 and as soon as we walked in we were hit with this almighty disgusting sewer like smell. And we noticed very quickly as soon as we opened the bathroom door it came from there. It was strong and you couldn’t bare to be in the toilet no more than a few minutes. The towels were small there was no flannels to wash yourself and only one kind of soap. The room was smaller than a caravan with twin beds in it. No radiator the room was absolutely freezing. Warmer in the hall way. Only 1 Of the bar men was friendly others not so much. Breakfast was an absolute disaster the menu was shocking asked for orange juices to be told to get it yourself others came down and got served before us. When we finally did get the breakfast it was a plate of oil and grease and not the friendliest of service. Would not recommend going. Highly over priced for what you get. And such an out dated place.…
Myself and my friend stayed here last night the 23rd of April 22 and immediately upon entering the room there was a disgusting smell which can only be described as a sewer like odour. The room itself was very cold and very small for a twin room. The small ensuite smelled even worse than the bedroom. The breakfast wasn't great and quite greasy and lacking substance on the plate. Only 2 lights in the room working.Only 1 plug socket in the room where the kettle was so we needed to move the unit to use the socket. Extremely outdated decor and furniture and EXTREMELY overpriced for what we got. All in all Highly disappointed . Also worth mentioning that if your room doesn't come with breakfast I don't recommend paying the €11.95 they charge for a full Irish breakfast as its definitely not a Full Irish breakfast.…
Rooms very dated. Iron marks on the carpet-mould on the silicone around the shower. Missing shower door-replaced by a curtain. Cigarette burns on the bed linen. Curtains didn’t fully close on windows. Windows in bedroom and bathroom didn’t close so room was freezing even with the radiator on. On a positive-plentiful number of towels. Aggressive/stressed male staff member serving breakfast was the final straw despite the best efforts of the lovely owner. Way overpriced for the standard.
We used the Function Room, which was beautifully decorated and very welcoming. Trish - Manager, was so helpful and attentive to our needs, advising and guiding us along the way - the result being a fabulous night that went beyond our expectations! We also had nothing but positive feedback from our relations and friends. taff looked after us very well and we will continue to support the Maples Hotel, which is a great asset for the community and area.
Recently attended for an event. The service was exceptional and staff were so kind and showed great attention to detail. Even though we were there for quite a sombre occasion the setting is very welcoming and the food was of a high standard. A change from other hotels of same presumed standard and location! The lovely lady who ran the hotel Patricia was overseeing the service and ensured we were all looked after and all our needs were met. Thank you!
We had my uncles funeral cellabration at the Maples, over 2 years ago. I promised I would place a review. I am a little late. It was an excellent occasion with family and friends and the staff and hotel were excellent. My uncle would have been proud....nothing was too much for the staff. The maples is very central for dublin city if you need a holiday....
Room was a mess. Also we were woken up at night by a staffmember entering our room with a key (ie. not a keycard), because he misplaced the rooms. Ended up getting the whole stay refunded after a single night (out of 4 nights planned) and finding other accommodation.
I read a poem yesterday called....when you are being laughed at...i found this poem to be quite poetic as i spend money ...when i spend money I'd like to think that my custom is welcomed as i can spend my money anywhere....hence brings me back to the poem....when you are being laughed at.
A few years ago my wife and I stayed here for a friends wedding. The food was excellent and the dining room was quite a remarkable space with the large romantic Edwardian windows. We decided if we ever had an excuse to revisit it we would. And the chance came up last December. Once again we found the Maples to be a gem. Its cosy, its friendly, and we felt the staff ensured we wanted for nothing, the service is excellent. The food is great, and we were served promptly after ordering. If you are a fan of the Edwardian period you will love the house itself and checkout the wallpaper in the breakfast room! We highly recommend the chicken wings which we shared to start, then the burger and the fish and chips. Superb. And don't forget to have a pint of Guinness in the bar while you read a few pages of Ulysses. Thanks to Colm and the staff for a great break. We will be back.…
