Our first time staying in this hotel. It’s well located with modern rooms. We booked well in advance so a got good room only rate. Downside would be reception/check in. I rang a few days earlier to confirm the booking and it was really difficult as the staff member didn’t seem to be that fluent. At check in we arrived at 1.15 pm (3pm check in). I’d emailed ahead asking for the early check in. I was told this would cost an extra €50! This was resolved but if the room is available, I think people should be facilitated.
Good standard of hotel for the cost, with helpful staff and a decent breakfast Rooms were clean , quiet and comfortable with all the amenities you need including plugs near mirrors for those straighteners! Good location too within walking distance of Molly Malone and Grafton street area
This hotel is the meeting point for the Vagabond Tours of Ireland. We stayed here for three nights prior to the start of the tour. The hotel is very nice with spacious clean rooms, friendly helpful staff and a great Irish breakfast each morning. The location is convenient to the center of the city. It’s a short taxi ride or about a 15 minute walk to Trinity College, Temple Bar and O’Connell street. It’s about a 40 minute taxi ride from the airport depending on the traffic. Dublin is a city that offers a lot and is worth exploring. Grand Canal Hotel is a great place to come back to after a full day of sightseeing. I highly recommend it.
We were in Dublin for the night to see Chicago. I looked for a medium priced hotel close to Bord Gais theatre. The Grand Canal Hotel was perfect in ever way. The reception staff were attentive and extremely helpful, the lobby restaurant for tea was great. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The gastropub for dinner was excellent. We had a great nights sleep and had the best breakfast buffet in a long time. Thank you, Joan O'Mahoney
Stayed here a few times, great rooms, top breakfast and friendly staff 10 minute walk from the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, we went to see the Osmond Musical, enjoyed it. Easy to park on site and free if you book direct. Jim Carrickfergus.
Nice, clean, well equiped room. We had sparkling water, coffee and tea in the room. It was possible to plug in USB to charge phones (we did not have the EU-UK adapters). Excellent breakfast buffet with full Irish breakfast. Irish pub just next to the hotel. We had a pleasant stay and would likely return.
Lovely spacious rooms. Helpful, friendly staff. Close to An Bórd Gáis Theatre, easily walked in 10 minutes. Lovely food. Highly recommend cauliflower wings. Breakfast lovely also. The hotel is a bit of an oasis where you can relax while the world races by.
Stayed for 2nights leisure trip Very good location,, walking distance from every thing,, Food was grand Had booked at suite,, absolutely look nothing like what is on the website,, was quite dull & drab so was disappointed with that, however clean comfortable,, Staff helpful & friendly
We recently stayed at the Grand Canal Hotel for a night as we were going to a show in the Bord Gais Theatre. Clean rooms, great location, a short walking distance to the theatre, and the food in the bar and breakfast was fine. However, I have to commend the staff for their helpfulness and for going above and beyond. I left a valuable item behind in my room and returned home. They were so quick to locate it and return it to me as soon as I got in touch. Special thanks to Danuta on the front desk for keeping me updated and being so kind. I would definitely recommend Grand Canal Hotel to others. Thank you!
Stayed here with my daughter on 5th Feb for the Ireland v Wales game. We had a nice twin room which was very comfortable and well equipped. The Grand Canal Hotel is very convenient for the Aviva and is also well situated within walking distance of Grafton Street, St Stephen's Green and the city centre attractions. We walked off the Guinness from the night before by going to the Teelings Whiskey Distillery which would probably be a taxi ride for most people but it was a nice walk for us. The bar was comfortable and the service good even on a rugby day and staff were all very pleasant. Breakfast was nice. I will happily return and stay here again.
