Great experience at the Gate Hotel. Stayed here as business accommodation for a night mid-week. Very unassuming location but deceivingly modern rooms both clean and tidy. The staff Julie & Ash were extremely polite, professional, and knowledgeable; and reception is 24hr - good for piece of mind and security. The location is its great selling point and consequently there is...

Spacious, clean room at a reasonable price. Felt very welcome with complementary tea, coffee & snacks (chips & biscuits). Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff. Very centrally located. On the corner of Parnell street and O'Connell street. Minutes to bus stops. Next to Tesco and Chapters Bookstore if that's what something you're interested in. The only concern is noise from the street...

On arrival the entire property looks shut down. Don't be fooled! Despite the run-down facade The Gate Hotel suited me perfectly. I was going to a gig in 3Arena and was aware that there would be noise from Fibbers til (late bar) closing time. After the gig I went to watch the rock covers-band that were playing in Fibbers and...

Hello Heather, Thank you for taking your time to write this well defined, detailed and level headed view to our place of business. It is quite refreshing to read into a guests honest look at their stay in our hotel. We got a good laugh at your opening line and have plans to entirely remodel the front of the building...

We just spent 2 nights in this hotel and it was awful. Room extremely cramped and uncomfortable. Steps to get to room. Desk clerks was not helpful. Said it had parking for our rental car but it was blocks away and expensive. The music from rest/bar was so loud we could not sleep. It played until 2:30 am.

For a 1 night stay in Dublin I booked a room in the Gate Hotel. The choice for this hotel was made based on the location and the price. The room itself was big enough, clean, and looked recently updated. The only bad thing about is was the lack of a decent window. All there was is two tiny windows...

We stayed for 3 nights and initially thought it was going to be a terrible stay. The outside of it is a bit grim - lots of shutters, next door to a rock pub on one side and a night club on the other with a big court yard for big pubs at the back. We got a room on...

If it wasn't for the incredibly loud live music permeating through the hotel until 2am or later, this would be a fine hotel and a reasonable deal. Unfortunately, being unable to sleep until after 2 kinda ruins it. If this information had been available to me before booking, I never would have booked here. Neither should you, unless you plan...

Though centrally located, the outside has a little discouraging impact: no fancy hall to greet you, stairs.. But, the friendly smile and great helpfullness of the staff help forgetting the initial discomfort. Moreover, the hotel is part of a very popular bar and restaurant, where breakfast is served. So, consider a little additional noise if the room is on the...

We have just had 4 nights at this hotel, we were quite dismayed by the outside of building and wondered what we had come too, but inside was very good, very narrow winding corridors but a lovely room, spotlessly clean, toiletries, kettle , hairdryer etc and a massive walk in double shower, The breakfast was in Murrays bar downstairs and...

The hotel is really nice ...if you dont want to sleep. We paid our room because we wanted to sleep in. But there is bar just downstair. The noise is SO loud that you can believe the music is in your bedroom. You hear people talking, their conversations. Impossible to sleep. I ask the reception to change my room and...
