Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Everything you could want. Best hosts in Ireland. Bernie and PJ are faultless. I have never stayed anywhere where I've been so at home. No-one could do possibly do more for you. cannot wait to get back there.

Bernie is a great host. She made us feel home when we stayed at her B&B. The room was great and she provided us an early breakfast so we could get to the airport. Good location for city trip and airport (good bus connection). Looking forward for the next stay.

This is the 2nd time I stayed at Botanic view. To be honest, the main reason I Went to Dublin is to stay here! The hosts Bernie and PJ are great people. They make you feel welcome all the time! The rooms, the home is spotlessly clean! they will help you with any question you might have. I have only been home for a couple weeks and I'm already making plane for next year!

We were greeted with a lovely welcome by Bernie, who had a map in hand with the nearest bus stops, sights of Dublin and recommendations of where was best to eat The room was beautifully clean, smelled great, comfy beds and the ensuite had shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, which was so handy! Breakfast was delicious, cooked by PJ, who shared his time with us, telling us stories, explaining about some of the history and language of Ireland. His homemade bread is incredible, highly recommend PJ knew we liked country and sixties music, so made sure on our second day, that it was playing whilst we had breakfast Honestly, I'm blown away by Bernie&PJ'S kindess and think it's probably the most caring place I've stayed. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again or to recommend you come visit There are multiple bus options nearby to take you into the centre, or it's only a 25 minute stroll, part of which is along the Royal Canal Way. A big plus is, you're in the heart of real Dublin, not necessarily the touristy part, so you feel very at home

When I stayed there in 2019 it already felt so much like a home. The hosts PJ&Bernie are such warm hearted people, so I knew if I ever would be up in Dublin again I'd stay wit them. When I stayed this weekend it felt like coming back home. I got a warm greeting, asking how I am doing and what brings me back to Dublin. The rooms are comfy with their own bathroom and a TV, everything you need is there and if it isn't just kindly ask and you'll be given. (Full) Irish breakfast is amazing. They remembered that I was a vegetarian so I got mine without the meat and it always fuled my belly with enough energy and warmth for the day. My friend ate his full Irish breakfast and he enjoyed as well. The coffee is good and wakes you up in the morning, if you don't like coffee you can go for tea of course. Cereal, orange juice some awesome bread or toast and marmalade or jam are there as well to keep you from starving. The bus is right around the corner and you can reach Dublin city center very easily, there are also Pubs, restaurants and Cafe nearby. Easy access to the beautiful botanic garden. So I know where I am going to stay whenever I'll be up in Dublin ☺️

I cannot for the life of me understand how this establishment has gotten so many good reviews. Our first introduction was when the 'hostess' insulted my friend. When asked 'where the city centre' was, the reply was "In the centre of the city of course, don't be stupid!" Where I come from the city centre is at the south of the city so it was a legitimate question. The lodgings were in need of repair. Peeling paint, broken toilet seat, nowhere for a guest to sit in the bedroom, so you both had to sit on the bed. Coat hangers in closet looked like they were thrown out from a charity shop. The 'self catering side' was a mess as plates were not collected from the tables, laundry was stacked in a corner. There was ONE hairdryer to share for the whole B&B and it overheated and conked out after a minute or two. On the breakfast issue, the coffee was instant, (bleh!) and the sausages were burnt. Not close to town, you had to take a bus. Unless you are desperate, avoid this place. Dirty.

Just as we re-opened after being closed from March 2020 to October 2021, I was devastated to see your review. I was particularly upset to see the photo of the view out back of our property as this area was a former print factory which was levelled quite a few years ago and over which I had no control of. I have tried to upload a photo from my phone taken in mid 2018 when foundations were being laid for the development of upmarket brand new housing on this site but (even with the help of younger family members !) we havnt managed to do this. HOWEVER we have uploaded on booking.com (and are in the process of uploading same on our own website) a photo of the brand new houses that have been built there and have been occupied for over 3 years now. This proves that you stayed OVER 4/5 YEARS AGO and only chose to update your review late 2021 just as we are trying to get back on our feet after such a devastating time for hospitality worldwide - especially for small family run B & B's like ours. Anyway you will be glad to know that we have sold the property next door that you stayed in and now just have 3 guest bedrooms which have been completely renovated. We are in the slow process of updating our website but new photos have been alredy been displayed on booking.com Obviously the pandamic and lockdown showed that you had so litte to do that you decided to see whose business reputation you could damage. Meanwhile many thanks to all the other happy guests who have supported us over the last TWENTY SIX years, who continue to return and will be welcomed here for a few years yet!!

Exceptional B&B. This was our first trip to Ireland, and from the moment we arrived at the Botanic View B&B, we felt like we were home. Our room was spacious and clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. A very nice shower. Great quiet neighborhood with local pubs and cafes nearby. Our hosts, P.J. and Bernie, were warm and welcoming. They went out of their way to assist us in navigating Dublin, and gave us great itinerary ideas for when we travelled through Ireland. Bernie even gave us a ride to pick up our rental car! We felt like we were staying with family. We wouldn't stay anywhere else. Can’t wait to plan a return visit!

We stayed 6 nights in Botanic View B&B and we loved our stay very much. Bernie and PJ went all their way out to make sure our stay was comfortable and they gave us detailed information about the B&B, transport, sightseeing and shopping suggestions and offered to book day trips and taxi for us. The location is great and the room is clean and quiet. We loved our full Irish breakfast every morning and it’s delicious and makes us very full. Highly recommend if you are visiting Dublin!

Thank you SO much for taking the time to review us and we are glad you enjoyed your time here with us. Sadly with the new Data Privacy Rules, we cannot pass guests' email addresses to Tripadvisor to remind them to review us so it is a bonus when guests (of their own accord) take the trouble to boost our spirits during the busy summer months by pleasantly surprising us with nice comments !! I stay overnight in Dublin 5-10 times a year. In the 20 years of looking for accomadation, I've yet to find a better place than the Botanic View B&B for location, price and quality product. A little gem.
