Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

The staff in this hotel are very rude to the point where it's not enjoyable to be there. Both last summer and this summer we had family over from the US and we all had drinks in the bar/lobby area. We were frequently told to stay quiet even though it was only 10pm (not exactly late). One of the servers kept asking us to move out of his way while he walked past us with his tray, even though there was plenty of him to walk around us, he certainly wanted to make his presence known. None of the staff are friendly I think it's clear none of them enjoy their jobs. I certainly wouldn't recommend this hotel as I've never come across such rude staff in any other hotel in Dublin. If management read this, I sincerely hope you look into this further as it's going to drive customers away.

It was not that expensive and I know why. It still is a decent hotel, that includes breakfast for free but the bathroom was very very small. If you are a large person it will be quite difficult. Not many tv channels at all and bed was ok for me but my friend said bed was too hard. It right across the bus station so that was quit convenient. Room didn’t have AC and it was quite warm I. The room , they gave us a small fan, it helped very little.

Great hotel with generous breakfast offering. Bus to city centre is right in front of the hotel and a lovely park in the back. Quiet place with clean rooms and lots of parking available. Staff were super friendly and tasty breakfast. Book directly for the best offer.

We stayed for 2 nites, Rooms small, slightly dated but clean, staff quite friendly, breakfast was fine, bar was fine, we had bar food once, no issue it was fine, only issue was being woken up at 4am by the room beside on our 2nd and last night, making excessive noise through loud talking and music, had to ring reception/hotel number 3 times before it was sorted, we finally got a few hours skipped breakfast and just left.

Reasonably priced hotel, only 15 min bus journey to city centre. The bus stop is opposite the hotel - make sure you have cash as bus driver don’t take card payments. Old style lovely hotel with all what you need including hairdryer and iron. Cleaning staff doing their job keeping rooms tidy every day. Everyone in the hotel very polite and helpful making sure everything is fine. Breakfast food in the restaurant includes Irish breakfast and some buffet basics like pastries, cereals etc. I would stay here again but without breakfast. The food was ok but it’s more of a budget food and they were serving instant coffee rather than a proper ground.

Stayed for one night at a price of 169 euros for two people without breakfast. Breakfast was 24 euros for two people. This was a stay during the weekend of the Garth Brooks Concerts. Room was nice, bathroom quite small. Basic and clean and comfortable. Lovely bar downstairs. The building is old, was weird to have a key to unlock the door and a chain inside the door to lock. But that was a feature to that hotel. The breakfast food was nice itself however the issue we experienced was the two breakfast staff. We were seated at a 4 person table by a young girl and waited over 20 minutes to order to where a older man with a mame badge Damien came over and told us we couldn't sit at this table and we shouldn't be there and was abrupt about this. We were eating a pastry each were he came to us and said could we move to another table, were prior I offered if he had another table we would move and he said no it was fine. But once we eventually ordered it was not long till it was with us and the food was nice and hot. We ate and paid 24 euros for the breakfast which was expensive. I believe the two breakfat staff were stressed due to the amount of people at the door waiting for breakfast and there was no tables because the room was too small for the amount of residents the hotel has which is why we received such a harsh greeting from these workers without even a good morning or a hello just a you should not be sitting there and then the girl.said we have to wait as there to busy when we asked 15 minutes waiting to order. I would stay here again depending the price of the hotel and hope the staffing for breakfast would improve the stress levels so residents wouldn't get the brunt of the attitude.

Not my first time to stay at this hotel and it won’t be my last. Hotel is very handy and with a bus stop across the road it’s only 15 minutes into Dublin City. The hotel itself is spotless, rooms, public areas, restaurant and toilets. Breakfast each morning was delicious and while we were there for 3 nights we only ate there for one of them and that was delicious too. All staff are so friendly and helpful. Thank you guys so a wonderful stay!!! See you soon…!!!

West County Hotel has a great hospitality. Check-in was a breeze. The receptionist did a great job handing me the key during the stay of mom and I and explaining to us how to connect to Wi-Fi. Moreover, the housekeepers were kind and did a great job cleaning our room and switching dirty mat and bath towels to clean mat and bath towels. They also did a great job cleaning the mugs in the coffee station of our room after we use it to make coffee or tea. Also, the breakfast was complimentary. It was great, delicious, and traditional. However, one thing that West County Hotel should improve is its Wi-Fi because Wi-Fi can sometimes spontaneously disconnect as you use it. You have to check hourly if you are connected to Wi-Fi. Other than that, thank you West County Hotel for providing my mom and I with a great hospitality during our stay!
