Booked to stay here in May 2020 (bearing in mind I booked it in November 2019) and I have still not received a refund. Every single time I have tried to complain, I get nowhere and they just tell me that they could not have predicted the global pandemic. I want my money back and I will never try and stay here again. Staff are a joke.

This hostel did the job for 1 night. I booked this hostel as I had also booked a 6-day paddywagon tour the following day so it was a convenient location to stay. Check-in only starts from 1pm, so since I arrived at 12pm I just had to wait in the reception area for an hour which was a bit annoying but I booked an 8-bed mixed dorm, but got moved to a 4-bed dorm with just me and my friend which was nice. The kitchen is pretty average, but in a different building entirely to the rooms. The kitchen also closes at 10pm and doesn't open again till 7 or 8. The wifi only works at reception, which once again, is a different building entirely to the buildings the rooms are in. The rooms were very basic, and our room was right underneath the train tracks so that was quite noisy. The rooms itself were relatively clean. Some of the staff were friendly, but agree with the other reviews that some of the staff can be a bit rude. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here unless you have a tour with paddywagon booked as there are much nicer hostels close by.

Some of these reviews seem a little harsh for a cheap place to stay. Sure it’s not a 5 star hotel but you shouldn’t be expecting that. Everything was clean, and the staff was friendly! They even brought us a heater when we said we were cold at night. The bathroom being downstairs is a little inconvenient, but it was nice to have a shower and sink in our room. No wifi in the dorms. But overall a good place to stay if you need a cheap, comfy, clean bed.

9/1/19 to 9/4/19: Paddy's Palace Hostel-Dublin: This hostel is near the main bus station in Dublin, so it's best feature. Out of all the many hostels, B & B's, guest homes, etc., we stayed in over the summer of 2019, the past 87 days, this was the worst. On a positive note, it is in a great location and offers a free Paddy-Wagon Tour to guests who stay 2 or more nights. The building is old, as are many, so not an excuse, but it is poorly maintained and only moderately clean, the hot water taps have issues- you cannot turn them down, always too hot, the heaters were on and unable to be shut off, so way too warm in our room and the bathroom. Not usually a bad thing, but it was warm in Dublin, so uncomfortable. One of the showers on our floor, (Room 4-second floor) had a broken head, but it was at least able to be regulated to temperature and it got you reasonably wet enough to wash your hair, compared to the other one, which was complete, but only had scalding water. However, the water in the kitchen, where you would want it hotter, does not get hot at all, so makes me leary of how the dishes were washed, also no towels to dry the dishes. They advertise Wi-Fi, but we did not know it is only in reception area, not in the rooms, and did not work the entire 3 days we were there. To get to your room, you have to enter through a separate exterior door by ringing a buzzer. Unfortunately the buzzer did not work, and though we told the office and they agreed "Somebody" should put up a sign, no one ever did. However, the staff was very nice and it had a nice self-catering kitchen, and like I said, the location is great, close to the bus and tram and a colorful, old neighborhood.

This hostel is dirty and the people who work there are extremely rude. Receptionist won't even bother to get up to even help with anything and was rude the entire stay and told me to sleep outside my room than help me get inside the room. Receptionist would curse at me for not being able to unlock the door when the key card obviously did not work. Would not recommend to anyone. They also have outdated checkin process which also took about an hour to check in. All in all, the worst hostel experience I ever had.
