Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We enjoyed our overnight stay in Egans. It is located in a nice quiet residential area near Dromcondra and a few minutes walk from The Botanical Gardens. Our bedroom was airy and spacious and tastefully decorated. An inner door between the bedroom and corridor ensured that the room was very private and quiet. The bathroom was clean. It had a powerful with a well sealed shower which kept the floor dry and safe. Breakfast was a generous and well thought out buffet affair. There was a mouth watering selection of hot food and cereals. The staff are extremely competent, pleasant and helpful. It's really a great place to stay and such terrific Value for money.

Had a great time at Egans House in Dublin! The ample parking in a quiet area was a huge plus, making it super convenient for us. Our room was large and spacious, giving us plenty of room to spread out and relax. Overall, a comfy and hassle-free stay.

A lovely place & beautiful building in a quiet area, and even with lots of guests the noise was fairly well contained. Staff were super friendly and helpful and the rooms very clean. Breakfast was good though I felt it was a little on the expensive side for what was on offer. Close to the Botanic gardens and a reasonable walk into the city, though we drove to car park for convenience sake and found it easy and reasonable. Great little pubs nearby.

Very cozy B&B for an overnight layover in Dublin. Booked a family size room with very comfy bed. Extra pillows all around. Lots of wonderful details to make guests feel at home. Breakfast was included in our stay and give us a wonderful taste of Ireland. Convenient to airport and a few nice little places to eat nearby when we got in late. We will definitely be back.

Nice rooms. Brekfast almost without vegetables for 14€. Not worth it. Apples did not taste as apples at all. Old fashioned hotel. The staff was helpful and they do have a nice garden. It is located near Dublin center if you dont mind walking for a bit. A lot of nice restaurants in neighberhood.

Egans is located on a quiet street in a quiet neighborhood. The staff and owners are all lovely and so helpful. We had a first floor room and I know they were full but it was remarkably quiet nonetheless. Very hearty hot breakfast. Walk to the Botanic Gardens!

What a terrific hotel. It is within 2 blocks of the bus line, in a quiet neighborhood. Beds are good, bathrooms clean & well appointed. It has a lovely little garden, and is close to the best Botanical Garden I've ever seen. (And I've seen plenty). One of the best points is their Receptionist Elizabeth: she prints directions from google maps, books tours & museums from the front desk, it's like having your own personal concierge. We wouldn't have had as much fun in Dublin without Elizabeth.

A wonderful place to stay, excellent service from all the staff, rooms were nicely decorated and extremely clean, breakfast was delicious well worth the money. We will definitely be coming back. Bus stop into the centre within a 5 minute walk and taxis were no more than €12. Thank you for making our visit so lovely

Enjoyed staying at this warm and friendly guest house where nothing was too much trouble for the welcoming staff. Lovely quiet residential neighbourhood. Very comfortable bed and it we had some cold and wet weather and so was a pleasure to return knowing it would be warm and cosy. Well located for the airport, used the bus which was easy. Glasnevin Cemetery and Botanical Gardens are within an easy walk and would recommend both. Travel into the main centre by bus is relatively easy once clear on the buses and stops etc. If I return to Dublin, I will stay here and would highly recommend.

The management of this guesthouse routinely send their customers to park outside local residents homes despite being asked several times not to do so. This practice, while legal, is completely unfair and unneighbourly. It means local residents cannot park outside their own homes as the spaces are taken up by Egans customers.
