We didn’t know what to expect when staying in this new hotel but the price was very reasonable for Dublin prices so we decided to jump in. We loved the website and the sustainable ethos and we were not disappointed.

The restaurant manager Kevin checked us in very professionally, without fuss and then showed us to the elevators and the key card system. The reception is on the basement level so I guess they need to do this with arriving guests to avoid confusion. The reception desk is right at the doorway entrance to the hotel which I’ve not seen before. The lobby is nice and clean. The bar is behind the lobby desk and is very impressive.

The rooms are as discribed on their website. Very cosy and compact. The lighting system takes a minute or two to get used to but all is expertly designed. Loved the curtain closing and opening button idea. Rooms are stocked well, all the latest mod cons but no USB slot near bedside. The rooms also have a mini bar fridge stocked with a selection of treats, wines and beers.

We didn’t eat in the hotel but they kindly left us a welcome note and two complimentary cocktail vouchers in the room which we were very pleasantly surprised with.

Kevin and Suzanne looked after us as we had a few drinks in their bar area. The cocktail selection is very good and they have their own twist or slant or own cocktails. Not like most bars with a generic selection. We loved the pye corner drink and their whiskey themed version of an expresso martini. The only downside is no smoking area for us unfortunate smokers and you have to go outside. No big deal but a smoking area would be the cherry on top of this bar.

We had an early flight the next day so skipped breakfast but I was tempted. Maybe next time. Check out was simple and they take 50.00 euro as a room deposit which can take a few days to return to your bank after leaving. The desk is staffed 24/7 which was ideal as we had to leave at six in the morning. The gentleman on the reception desk kindly ordered us a taxi and had one for us within minutes. He was also very kind and upbeat for a man working such hours! We don’t remember his name though as we were still half asleep!

All the staff we encountered were very helpful, professional and seemed happy in their work. Which is rare in Irish hotels at the moment unfortunately.

All in all a lovely nights stay.

Booked this hotel on the morning of an unplanned city visit due to its low price and excellent location. The few reviews I found (hotel is very newly opened) were positive, but I wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s a little tricky to find as it is tucked away behind Andrew’s Lane, beside the Pichet restaurant. Staff were welcoming from the very start, and they were particularly helpful and courteous when I muddled up my credit cards and was generally a befuddled, overtired traveler. The room was a lovely surprise; spotlessly clean and bright. I booked a “cosy nest” and expected a capsule-size unit but the room consisted of three separate units: a toilet and washbasin, a large shower room, and a very comfortable double bed facing a big screen tv with the usual channels, plus a handy chrome cast option. There is perfectly fine storage for one person and a mini pull-down desk option if required. There was a very small amount of noise at times from other rooms and outside, but it was remarkably quiet for a city centre hotel. All in all, very impressed and have already booked a Christmas shopping stay.

A great stay excellently located in Dublin. We could not have asked for a better location, within easy walking distance of all the main sites, a stones throw from the Molly Malone statue, and trinity college library.
The rooms are nicely designed and clean with comfortable beds.
The water bottles in the room turned out not to be complimentary despite not being clearly itemised on the minibar menu and displayed in a clearly separate part of the room to the other mini bar items in the fridge and tray. This was irritating as many hotels do include bottled water as complimentary, as they were displayed so clearly separately by the bed, we did not realise until our card was charged. There is handy water bottle refill stations in the corridors.
The curtains are controlled with a fairly fun button panel that also controls the lighting and air.
We did not try the breakfast as it was more than we wanted to spend and there was a strange and fairly potent smell in the lobby and the corridors. I am unsure whether we were unlucky or whether the unpleasant smell is a permanent fixture, but there is plenty of choice for cafes and restaurants nearby. The staff were friendly, very helpful and happily looked after our bags and helped book us a taxi, which was much appreciated.
Stays in Dublin are expensive but I would stay here again for any future trips.

Hello sarah, Thank you for taking out time to rate and review your recent stay at The Wren Urban Nest. We highly appreciate your great rating and comments. The tetra-park container water in the rooms are complimentary. We do not consider them as part of the mini-bar items. Regarding the potent stench in the lobby, we had a sewage leak unfortunately which was repaired during the night. We apologise for this once more. Looking forward to a more pleasant visit next time. Kind regards, Wren Urban Nest.

Came here for a one night getaway and was not disappointed from start to finish. The location could not be better; smack bang in the centre of Dublin with great bars, restaurants and sights all within walking distance. This is primarily why we chose this hotel. Check-in was at 3pm but we arrived early at 12:30. The guy at reception was so helpful (didn't get his name) but he offered us the option to check in early if we paid €20 which we did. He gave us a fantastic room on the 7th floor away from the lifts so we had a fantastic quiet nights sleep. The room was small and quirky but impeccably clean and well decorated. Despite the small size it didn't seem cramped and there was plenty of room for storage and to move around. The toilet and shower rooms are separate to each other but both are very roomy and the rain head shower was really good also. There's a mini bar and large flat screen TV in the room also. Had some drinks in the bar, which were reasonably priced given the location in Dublin. Try their Negroni its amazing. The bar area is really nicely decorated and you do feel you are away somewhere abroad instead of in the centre of Dublin. Breakfast isn't included and is €20 a head unless you pre-book the night before and its €16 then. We had breakfast the following morning and the selection of food was great, from the usual Irish Fry to fruits, cereals, cold meats and cheeses to pastries. Didn't however like the way that the guy who pointed us to our seats asked me for a tip when we were paying, that's all he did pointed to our seats and was looking for a tip? The only issue I have with this place is the price; all in between the room rate, early check in and breakfast it was around €430. For a hotel that prides itself on sustainability none of the savings being made by this mantra are being passed on to the guests. Id stay again but only if I got a good deal.

Hello Hannigan, Thanks for taking the time to rate and review your stay with us. We appreciate the excellent rating and exhaustive feedback whereby you virtually touched all aspects of our operations. We are pleased to note that our staff went above and beyond to satisfy your wish. However, we are taken aback by the assertion of a colleague requesting a tip from our guest. We are at the service of our guests and indiscriminately deliver the same service standard with or without a tip. We will discuss this together with your other concerns within the team, as we look forward to welcoming you again. Kind regards, Wren Urban Nest.

Stayed here at the weekend with my wife for an impromptu night in the city and was really impressed by this new gem right in the heart of Dublin City , Hotel is really tastefully designed and rooms are compact but really cosy and very comfortable, we had dinner in the restaurant and I was very impressed with the service and the food which included really tasty Duck wings which were a new experience for me .

Breakfast was delicious and I had one of the best coffees I’ve had in a long time which set us up for a morning of shopping on Grafton Street which is just around the corner .

Can’t wait for our next visit .

Stayed for a one night celebration . Food ( dinner only breakfast not included) was part of package .. very good and high quality .
Only issue experienced was size of rooms . They are tiny !! .. bed is width of room and jammed against window .
Shower and toilet are separate rooms … shower is like wet room .
No chair in room bar a stool in bathroom
No window opens so lack of fresh air
Compulsory €50 deposit should only be a hold on card and not deducted along with room price paid upon arrival .
Good location for walking to city sights if desired but couldn’t last more than 2 nights in such a small slightly claustrophobic space

Hello TomoG8299GN, Thanks for taking out time to review your last stay at The Wren Urban Nest. We publish the size of our rooms in all our public spaces and it is unfortunate that you were not aware of this. Concerning the deposit, this amount is only held by your bank but takes upto 7 working days depending on the bank to be released into your account. We do not charge this amount. Hopefully this clears the doubt. Looking forward to your next visit. Kind regards. Tabey Night Duty Manager

We stayed in this lovely hotel in July 2022. We had booked an adapted room. On arrival we had to call reception to allow us access to the lift to get down to reception, that was easier once we knew how to get the lift ourselves!!
Check in was easy and the staff were very welcoming. It was really hot and we were offered complimentary iced water from the bar which was nice.
The room itself had a good adapted bathroom which was a wet room, it lacked anywhere to hang towels or a shelf for toiletries which was really difficult and meant that we had to keep things on the small sink.
The room came with lots of high tech controls for curtains, air conditioning, tv etc.
The biggest issue for us is that my husband is 6ft tall and the bed was not long enough for him. The bed was against the wall on one side and enclosed top and bottom he could not lie flat in bed without his feet touching the shelf at the bottom. This is the main reason I can't give the proprty 5 stars. I know we booked the smallest room because of our budget but we did expect to be able to have a bed that could accomodate a fairly normal sized person.
The staff were lovely and the hotel was full so we managed.
The location was good central and close to an enormous tower with satelite dishes which meant it was really easy to spot that, and find your way back!!!

Hotel was nice and modern, staff were very friendly and more than willing to help. They added a personal touch for my partners birthday. We didn’t eat at the hotel so can’t comment on that, we enjoyed sitting in the bar and the cocktails were nice. It was nice to return to the quiet hotel after walking through temple bar on a Saturday night. As previously mentioned rooms were small but perfect for our 2 night stay and great location.

The two things that let it down was the feeling that our room was unfinished in terms of the paint on the walls, there was bits missing. Also the lack of plug sockets near the bed. And the main thing is you have to pay a €50 security deposit when you arrive which when we checked out were told we would be refunded to us. 2 weeks later it still hasn’t and no response to my message.

Overall it’s a nice boutique hotel and we would recommend staying here just a few final touches that would be nice.

Bad points
* Coffee bags in the room were difficult to get into
* Bed was on its side against the window which means you have to climb over partner to get to toilet

Good points
* Service was at least 7 stars out of 5
* Food, same as above
* Coffee at least 20 starts out of 5!
* Location, great
* Room was ample

When I first booked this hotel I was very sceptical, especially when seeing the size of the room and the fact that the bed was side on. I was pleasantly surprised.

The room is small but very adequate, toilet and shower room right size with loads of room even with big people like me! The room was clean and very functional, including 2 fast USB ports. Hi-tech buttons for lights, air conditioning, curtains and room service. The chrome-cast was slightly problematic so we didn’t bother with it, this did not detract from a functioning Tv by any means.

The service from the staff was impeccable especially Sorsha &
Salvatore, they were incredibly welcoming to us at breakfast every morning and nothing was too much trouble, even more, it really came across that they enjoyed their job and their employer, so management, whatever you are doing, keep doing it! The coffee that was served was gorgeous, so much so I ordered a bag of beans from the supplier myself!

The location was ideal as it is in the right locality to be in the centre of the action but just off on a side street to be quiet enough.

Apparently, the hotel has only been open a year, hopefully they will continue to thrive but I for one wholeheartedly recommend this place and would come back again.

I stayed here with my partner as we she had a late evening work event and as soon as we entered the reception area we were blown away by the decor.

The girls at reception were very welcoming and courteous. They took a deposit of fifty euro as the rooms are equipped with a mini bar.

The room is compact but very modern. We then headed to the bar as we received two complimentary cocktail vouchers for booking through the hotel deposit.

We went for their version of a margarita which Kevin the concierge and barman made and they were delicious. The bar area is beautifully decorated and very chilled. We would have loved to have stayed longer but we had to be elsewhere for the evening.

We came back late at night and misplaced our room keys. The night manager Toby was a gentleman and looked after us very well. We had a great nights sleep as the room was nice and toasty on a winters night and the mattress was perfect.

Breakfast was a buffet and smelled delicious but we both had to rush to work. The girls on reception check us out with minimal fuss and sent us an email copy of the receipt which we liked as it helps with paper waste.

The car parking is not complimentary but Kevin gave us a pass for the nearby Drury street car park so it was only 12.50 for overnight parking which is very fair price for the city.

All in all a great stay. Only negative was the glassware and some of the corners in the room were a tad dusty.
