The Maldron Hotel Dublin Airport garners mixed reviews for its service, with guests encountering both commendable and underwhelming interactions with staff. Although the location near the airport and the shuttle service are popular for their convenience, many travelers find the rooms outdated and cramped, sparking discussions about the need for renovation. The hotel's atmosphere doesn't escape criticism either, as reviewers often describe it as dreary and unwelcoming. Despite the general approval of the rooms' cleanliness, the consensus suggests that the hotel's value proposition is diminished by its basic amenities and high rates.

Nearly always stay here when flying from Dublin airport .
Had precooked ages ago but had found a better price with breakfast a lot cheaper closer to our stay so cancelled previous booking and rebooked with great price and including breakfast .
They refunded me the difference with very little fuss , had asked for closer room to reception and restaurants as I had mobility problems this time they came up trumps very close , very happy .
The staff our all very pleasant and obliging .
The breakfast was very good with great choice just the thing to start your day .

We stayed here both September 3rd and 11th 2021, Both stays were exceptional and we have now found our new favorite airport hotel when we fly out of Dublin.
We booked direct and could avail on the 10 euro discount for make it Maldron members and as we booked it far in advance we secured a great rate.

Rooms were cleaned to a high standard and all covid-19 protocols were adhered too. We had dinner in the bar on the 3rd and service and food where great given the limit menu and restrictions that were in place.
Breakfast on both mornings were fresh and plentiful probably the best hotel breakfast we have had. The service from all staff was great and the staff could not be more friendly.

We did arrive back on the 11th after a late flight from the canaries this hotel was perfect it was literally 5 min walk to the hotel.
We arrived to a very busy lobby, this was after the all Ireland so it was expected. Once we checked by the night managers who were great , we did manage to make last orders for drinks as we are from Mayo we had to drown out our loss. We secured 2 seats in the lobby and one of us sat on the floor and one the managers offered to get us another chair out of the dining room after our 2 drinks we retired to bed where we slept like a log.

We cant wait to return and have a couple of bookings this year all done by the lovely Ricardo in reservations. In fact my next stay is March 11th, see ye then.

Kind regards

Keith Walshe

This is a solid all round great hotel. I did the advance check in online and my room and key was ready for me when I arrived. I got one of there refurbed superior rooms. These rooms are bright and spacious with lovely soft furnishings. Everything you need for an over night stay. Tea/coffee toiletries an iron and dressing gown/ slippers. The shower had great pressure and good lighting in the bathroom which I love. I decided to walk to the airport as it’s a short ten minutes away but there are frequent shuttle buses that go from outside the front door. Express check out is available and if your driving the car park backs onto the main exit road from the airport. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you need somewhere to stay before an early flight or arriving back late in the evening.

We stayed in this hotel in the end of August and we were very disappointed. Not my first visit but definitely the last one. I was always very happy there but unfortunately not this time
We travelled with a 2,5 years old girl and we cane to check in after 4 hours journey all very tired. But check in was long lots of signatures and don’t know what else to be honest. We just wanted to go to our room . And no reason for that as hotel was very quiet no queues. We were told to wear a mask but the member of staff who told us this was NOT wearing any.
Our flight was early so we wanted to order take away bfst all we wanted was hard boiled eggs for the little girl but we were told NO they couldn’t boil eggs for us they could cook dinner or steak but eggs was not possible.
We were told hotel was quiet no need to book a shuttle bus but in the morning at 6 am we were told again NO we couldn’t go on the bus to the airport as there were 4 people on so we walked. The driver again wasn’t wearing any mask
It’s different to travel with small kids but we booked family room and another room for the three of us( two adults and a child)
So hotel knew we were with kid and we didn’t go for any cheaper option but we didn’t get service we expected
And I’m really not happy and not going to stay there afai

We had an early morning flight out of Dublin.
The express check-in was efficient.
The twin room was well equipped and the beds were comfortable.
We also had dinner outside the bar which was tasty. The crowning glory was the Guinness. We had three pints each and the pints were consistent and served at what I consider to be the correct temperature. I haven't had pints as good as for a number of years.
The early morning shuttle was welcome as it was raining.
All in all a very pleasant stay at the Maldron.
I will stay there again when I have an early morning flight.

We stayed at the Maldron at the beginning and end of our visit to Ireland. The convenience of the airport was why we chose this hotel. When we arrived at 9:00 a.m., we were able to check-in early for €20. We were assigned a room in the "basement" (the bottom floor). The room was quite comfortable and we had a couple of wonderful nights' sleep. The shower took a bit to get used to since there is no curtain and the glass only goes about half the length of the tub. It took a bit to get the pressure just right so the whole floor wasn't soaked. But, the pressure was good and the temperature was excellent. For American travellers: there are no washcloths provided so bring your own! Also, if you want the maids to come in and swap out the towels, put the hanger on the door. That is the opposite of what we're used to and we didn't realize we should have done that. The staff at the front desk were extremely nice, but don't call them. Every time we went by the front desk they were very busy. There is a qr code on the mirror in the room to scan; you can send the staff messages through the website instead of calling. I called and got the feeling they didn't appreciate having to answer the phone.
At the end of our stay in Ireland, we had one night. We were able to check in a couple of hours early but weren't charged anything extra. This time we were on the 2nd floor. For some reason the bed wasn't as comfortable and my husband thought the room was a little bit smaller.
There's a Circle K around the back of the hotel where you can walk and get snacks or drinks. When we asked about catching the bus to go to the city center, we were told to take the shuttle to the airport and catch it from there, but there is a bus stop at the back of the hotel (in front of the Circle K). It was very convenient.
The shuttle is also very convenient. We had to go to the airport the day before we left for a COVID test. The driver showed us where we were supposed to go and how to get there. When we left the building after our test, we looked across the parking lot and saw our hotel. It took us about 5 minutes to walk to the hotel.
The convenience to the airport is great but if you take a taxi to the city center, expect to pay about €25 one way. The front desk will call a taxi for you.

We just came here to sleep before our 6am flight out of Dublin Airport. There are free shuttles to and from the airport which is very nice, even though it is walkable in an emergency. We took the airport express bus from O’Connell Street to Dublin Airport then the shuttle bus to the hotel. When checking in, the staff member tried to charge me much more than I had booked it for on the Booking website, so just be careful with that. Once I asked, she changed the price. The beds were comfortable, and the shuttle buses come pretty often, so we were able to make it to the airport with plenty of time to spare.

Trying to get back from UAE, Emirates landed us in Dublin for 20 hours between flights. I'm too old to sit it out in the airport so we booked rooms in this airport hotel, which is about 5 mins from the terminal. There was a shuttle bus running regularly with a very helpful driver. The rooms are quiet and clean and, while fairly basic, they do the job. The restaurant is noisy and has a loud TV playing, so I took food to my room.

I rarely leave bad reviews but had a terrible experience at this hotel. I decided to stay here as I had previously stayed at the Maldron in Cork and had a good experience. According to the hotel website, reservations were needed for the hotel restaurant. I emailed on the day of my arrival to ask if I could book a table. No-one replied to me. On check-in I was told they weren’t taking bookings for meals which is absolutely crazy in the era of COVID-19. An elderly couple who were checking in before me were offered no help with their luggage and had to drag it themselves all the way to the lower floor which was a bit of a trek.

I had to wait 40 mins for a table for dinner and then I was eventually given a table in the lobby and told someone would need to clean it before I sat down. I was left waiting another 10 mins and no one cleaned it. I complained to the manager and was told they could get someone to take my order phone my room when my food was ready. By this time I’d been waiting 50 mins and seeing other people in the lobby waiting ages to even get a menu (and slow service in general) I decided against this. In the meantime, I saw two people sat down at the unclean table I had been offered.

All of this could have been avoided by allowing people to pre book their meals. I also noticed that no one was checking vaccination certificates for the hotel bar where meals were being served, which again, is crazy.

The room itself was very basic and stale smelling. Fine if you have an early flight the next day but really not worth the cost. If I was booking again I would just pay the extra £20 and stay in a nearby competitor hotel. Will never book with Maldron again after this terrible service.

We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. Stayed Saturday night 7th March
Booked by phone and was dealt very efficiently by a young lady called Natalia . She had my booking sorted in a few minutes and the room I got was first class
On arrival, the receptionist who checked me in greeted me with a smile and made me feel very welcome .

Breakfast in the morning was a little disappointing. I would have liked fresh orange juice but what was available was from a carton .
Also bread was not fresh but expect it difficult to get fresh on a Sunday morning
Overall I enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back there in the bit too distant future

Depends on your luggage, your health, and if it is raining. If you only have a small carry on roller bag and you are ok with getting a little wet, about 5 to 10 min.
