Skip the included breakfast, it's awful. avoid room service, luke warm food prepared by a poorly skilled chef or an ambitious microwave. Rooms were tired, beds are super uncomfortable. pillows, bring a neck brace. Good bar, great location, very friendly staff.
We were allocated room 219 on arrival. It was right next to the tram line and station. Trams run from 5am to 1am and noisy and made the room vibrate as often as every 3 minutes. This should not be used as a hotel room for guests! We were quickly moved to another room the following morning so all resolved and peaceful sleep for the remaining nights of our stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The bed was on the harder side of softness. Coffee in the room is awful but I was informed of a Tassimo machine on the 3rd floor on our final night so that was pleasant for our final morning. Daytime staff were helpful and kind, night staff not so much. The tram station was useful to get in and out of the city centre and as mentioned above, very frequent.
The rooms are not well maintained. You should not be surprised if the AC / control panel in your room is not operative, toilet accessories not properly managed/ woken up by early morning noise from adhoc repair activities from an adjacent room. My experience with the guest services in addressing problems -not that great!!!
We were told that this hotel was dog friendly and that both the dogs and the parking were included on the price given on the telephone. Unfortunately on arrival at 1am we were asked to pay 115 euros extra!
My dad, sister and I really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Dublin at Charlemont Place because of the staff. Especially in the restaurant - everyone was so friendly and the service was great. Dexter did a great job, along with the other waiters and waitresses. The only drawback from our stay was that the fold-out couch in the room was so uncomfortable that one of us had to just sleep on the floor. There also wasn't much of a shower panel to keep the water from getting on the floor. It might've been better with a wider panel.
The hotel is attractive and it is within a short walk to restaurants, shops and the train/tram station. Sightseeing bus stops just steps away. Breakfast was nice with good selections. However, the rooms are small. Only one tiny drawer and a narrow closet in which place clothing. Only one suitcase rack provided and barely any space to place another. We had to juggle furniture to find space for a second suitcase on the floor. Had to live out of our luggage for five days. Small desk area. This room would be better suited for a short stay with little luggage, definitely not for a family. Encountered billing errors with several charges against our credit card after we left and no one can explain them. After five weeks, many many frustrating phone calls and emails later, the charges were finally reversed. Shame on Hilton! This should never have happened. Dropping my Hilton Honors membership.…
The hotel is clean, the staff are incredibly helpful and attentive. Our room was on the first floor and both nights we stayed there was a loud disco underneath us. So loud we could make out the songs. There was no warning this would be going on. Not a hotel if you’re wanting quiet evenings.
Location location location …… directly on the rail line this property has all needed amenities with new / modern accommodations. On site resteraurant and bar, helpful and friendly staff this property made all of Dublin and surrounding highlights easy accessible and would highly recommend for this wishing to take in all the city has to offer.
The breakfast wasn't worth the cost sadly, it was lacking in what I've come to expect from the Hilton brand. Also trying to get the bill so I can expense this is a nightmare, I've called a few times and they say they will send it but do not. The location is nice, and the people who work there are friendly, but I won't stay again sadly. There are clear signs on the website and in the hotel that there is construction going on, but not at the time of booking.
Noisy building works - no transparency about this, no warning in advance, no discount offered for inability to sleep during the afternoon. Breakfast basic at best, with paper cups. Internet barely functioning and too slow for emails. Staff trying their best but having to cover for a company that now seems to be trading on its former reputation while trying to pare costs to the minimum and squeezing maximum profit from customers.
