Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not quite a 5. Enough for. 4 star rating. Quaint little hotel. Staffmembers were excellent. Very friendly and accomodating. Much more than regular hotels. Room was at end of building. Clean. Bed was comfy. There was a slight hum emanating from the wall in the bathroom that sounded like a ceiling fan. Not really that bothersome as it helped lull me to sleep. It may bother some people. Over all, price was right and a value for accomodations.

We were on the fourth floor, hardly slept due to the noise upstairs. Clearly no insulation between the floors. Horrible experience coming back in the evening and having to walk through the cigarette smoke of the staff stood in the front entrance

My husband and I arrived in Dublin after flying a long flight from South Africa. Sandy front of house booked us a room straight away and also held our luggage for us. Sandy welcomed us with a lovely warm smile and made us feel at home . We are very grateful. After dealing with Sandy hotel St George will always be our first choice . She is absolutely amazing. Thanks again for everything.

Cosy room on the ground floor suitable for this little old lady eventhough there is an elevator. No air conditioning but a portable one is provided in the room. Sufficiently cool. Coffee machine and a selection of tea. Very very convenient if you want to take the aircoach or do any of the day tours. Many halal restaurants around for muslim travelers.

I stayed here for one night this weekend to meet up with my nephew who was visiting from the UK. As a woman of a certain age, traveling alone, I felt very happy and safe here. The hotel was five minutes from where my nephew was staying and close enough to everything else that at no time did I feel unsafe (even when I arrived to be greeted by a huge demonstration). All extremely important things for me now. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The room was perfect for a single and spotlessly clean. There were a couple of plugs in the room that weren’t working and I reported this upon checkout and the staff were happy I did and stated they would inform maintenance. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely return when I come to Dublin again. Thank you!

Rooms clean and comfortable. Showers larger than Irish “average”. Breakfast buffet accommodates “hot”, “cold” or” “continental” preferences. Staff very friendly and extraordinarily helpful. Ideal location for exploring Dublin. Will be my “go to” hotel in future visits to the city.

The staff were super nice except the two women working at the reception it's barely if they say hello, otherwise the man staff were really nice and pleasant, otherwise overall it's a good hotel and especially well located, it's right next to the city centre and the rooms are correct

I loved this hotel. The location was perfect. There are bus stops right outside and lots of cafes and pubs on the street. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. They offer breakfast in the morning which I really appreciate. I would stay here again.

The St. George was great for the price. Yes, as some people say here, it's an old building with thin walls, there are some nicks in the decor and furniture here and there, the rooms are small, etc. But if you have ever stayed in similarly-priced hotels in London or NYC, you know it can be MUCH, MUCH worse at this price level. The staff is really friendly and very helpful, the location is great, the beds are comfy (I slept 13hrs straight one night!), the bathroom was clean as a whistle and the rooms have complimentary water and a coffee/tea machine. If you've ever stayed at a hotel in a Victorian-era building in London, you will know the drill. Thick carpets, old style. Don't book a place like this if you expect modern, streamlined concrete hotel monsters. The St. George has soul and history, including the occasional battle scar. But in its price range, this place is highly recommendable.
