Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Windows that can be opened, convenient location. The breakfast buffet was great. The mattress: I could feel the box springs or something similar:( The worse though was that on the day of the arrival the floor of the tea room was sanded causing an afternoon full of noise. Even worse was the next morning where some glaze fumes were still in the air and I barely could breathe on my way to the breakfast, my lungs burned and I had to cough.

I love this hotel - I actually was supposed to stay as part of a Cosmos group, but after the tour I traveled Ireland myself and booked to stay there to get my flight the next morning (16th). It was clean, the staff was nice, the rooms were nice, but no AC (which most hotels were in Ireland) is not comfortable sleeping for me.

the staff was very helpful, the hotel is agreeable, cosy, large rooms, good breakfast and good location. no phone in the room (as to call the reception, etc) and a problem with the safe that could not be usable. both were not provided until we left after 3 nights stays.

We stayed at The Bonnington for 3 nights while on an 8 night tour of Ireland. We checked in very easily and were lucky enough to find a parking space outside hotel. Parking is a little chaotic so it was a bonus to get a space. Our room was on 2nd floor. End of a very long corridor with its own lift which turned out to be good for us as it also served the pool/spa/gym area. Our room was a good size. View was of flats and a flat roof but we didn't expect views. 2 single beds pushed together to make superking size bed. Table ,couple of chairs, dressing table, tea coffee making facilities, safe, decent sized wardrobe space. Basically everything needed. Bathroom was a good size, shower over bath. Heated mirror was good as solved steaming up. Plenty of towels. Food was very good with 2 restaurants serving in evenings. Front bar/bistro and back sports bar/bistro. Varied menus in both with lots of choice. Shout out goes to CHRISTIE & LUCY who served us throughout our stay. Kept drinks flowing and looked after us well. ALL staff we dealt with were always polite and helpful. Had been a little cautious as had read previous reviews saying staff were rude. We never found this. Breakfast is served in Main Restaurant and we were warmly welcomed every morning by a lovely hostess. Sorry didn't get her name but she was lovely. Breakfast a little basic but we always fresh. Poached eggs were not a problem when we asked. Pool area really good. Clean with showers and lockers. Checked in and out everytime we used and towels provided. You do have to wear swimming hats but we had read about this on the website info and purchased our own before we went. We didn't use our car while we stayed here as there is a bus straight into the middle of Dublin that goes from the end of the road. 150m away. We bought a 3 day Bus Pass while we were visiting and definitely got our moneys worth. €16 each for 3 days. Hop on hop of trams and buses. All in all we were had a lovely stay. Yes some parts of the hotel are dated but it is currently undergoing a massive refurbishment. The parts completed are looking amazing and the parts still awaiting didn't spoil our stay.

Friendly, competent staff. The room had what I needed, i.e., iron, kettle, tea-coffee, hair dryer, safe. Good distance to airport as well as city. Apparently there were amenities for fitness as well however I did not have a chance to check them out

Staff were very good. Room was nice and quite. The cost of the room jumped €50 over night while I was confirming appointments for the next day. Dinner in the restaurant was alright maybe bad choice from myself and staff in the bar and restaurant were very good.

Hotel is located in a nice area with access to gym/pool and multiple bars from within. Free parking is also available. Food was average. My room was very hotel and felt like a sauna on the day I arrived. No air-conditioning available in hotel. Otherwise OK.
