Hotel seemingly getting renovated but very dated outside main bar and reception area. Mould and damp visible in corridors. Staff pretty unhelpful. Booked a double instead of twin (my bad) asked reception for another blanket or duvet. Duvet delivered but left without a cover. Similar level of disinterest when asking for a taxi.
Nice, spacious room, Very competent and accomodating staff and a very good restaurant. A bit of a walk to downtown, but public transport i fine, and there's plenty of parking available. One morning (out of three), we didn't have enough hot water - otherwise this would been a full, five points.
Bonnington Dublin is off the beaten path nearer to the airport. Not much directly around but a few places within a 10-15 min walk. Rooms are comfy although a little dated. Could use some TLC and a little sprucing. What has made the hotel a big disappointment is the odor of pot while walking down the hall. The cleaning staff attempts to mask it with air freshener. The people in the adjoining room blazed up last night and the smell just wafted into our room. Disgusting!! Not sure how this qualifies as having non-smoking rooms by any means of the imagination. Ok for one night, or two, to rest but I wouldn’t stay longer by choice.
Had a very pleasant stay at the Bonnington Hotel -The Staff on Reception were very courteous and helpful. The food was beautiful especially the ‘Roast of the Day ‘ served like at home full and plenty. Have stayed here several times in the past and would highly recommend this Hotel.
We had to wait long time to get our coffee at the breakfast time and it tasted like moisture of tea coffee and something hot. Room was clean but bath was very old and it looked not nice to go in. No fridge in the room was very strange. Bed was comfortable and clean towels every day was good.
