We recently stayed at Waterloo House for two nights. We really enjoyed staying there, the building is charming, and the room was super clean, quiet, and well equipped. The staff were helpful and went out of their way to provide directions and recommendations for local restaurants. They have on site parking too which was great. The location is ideal, within walking distance from great restaurants on Baggot St. It’s an easy walk into the center of town too, if needed, but we felt the immediate neighborhood was perfect for our stay. The house itself is set back from the street, so while it’s in the city it felt uniquely quiet and safe. On our departure one of the staff said that they plan on remodeling the whole house in early 2023, so we are now even more excited about our next visit there.…
A rare gem in the heart of the city! We loved our stay and can highly recommend Waterloo House to anyone. The friendly staff went out of their way to assist us and had great knowledge to recommend sightseeing in the city. They made us feel right at home. A great location, spacious rooms, comfortable beds and a beautiful part of the city with lots to do right on your doorstep.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel was clean. The staff were helpful and friendly and nothing was a problem to them. It is about a half hour walk to the city centre. There are good bars and restaurants within five minutes of the hotel. The hotel does not do breakfast but there are plenty of places close by.
Very good experience yet again, my 3rd stay over last two months. This would be my preferred home away from home when I’m in Dublin. The staff, all of them are simply the best, polite and very helpful going well beyond what could be reasonable expected. I very rarely give 5 stars but do so happily here, there are a few issues, fit and finish tired and the front door closing is very loud but the staff well out way very minor issues.
We enjoyed a lovely family overnight stay for the rugby. Spacious family room, friendly staff and central location, will come again thank you. It’s s perfect spot for access to both the city centre and the Aviva
Warm friendly staff and rooms. Fantastic location and FREE overnight parking. Rooms have been recently refurbished. Comfy beds with great mattresses. Good water pressure in the shower. Lift to all floors. Fab local pubs and eateries. Lovey walks along the canal.
This is an average place to stay, certainly not a boutique hotel. It was clean, but our shower didn’t work and wasn’t fixed after we reported it. We moved rooms after the second complaint, but when we enquired if it had been fixed they told us the new guest hadn’t complained - so nothing had been done! It was in a good position for us as our son lives nearby but it’s not in central Dublin, it’s about a 20 minute walk to the centre. They don’t serve breakfast, which we didn’t know until we arrived so this cannot be classed as a four star hotel (it’s a guest house really). Should be cheaper for what they offer.
Lots of park, Canal with swans, ducks and all kind of birds, near the City Center, nice walk to everywhere with the view of gourgeos buildings. Waterloo House is nice place to stay, clean with good service, polite employees. Reccomendations
While at the en of our trip, we experienced a medical emergency. The staff of Waterloo House were amazing in their assistance. They went above and beyond to assist us, though they didn't need to. The beautifully decorated rooms and nice location is an added benefit we didn't get to enjoy sadly. If we revisit Dublin, we'll surely stay again.
I had to double-check to make sure I stayed at the same place that others have rated so highly! Quite frankly, I would never stay here again. From the moment I pulled up and lugged my suitcases up a very steep suitcase, the staff came outside, took one look at my two bags and turned around and went back inside. Upon checkin, they make you pay immediately, I'm guessing because once you saw your room, you would immediately check in somewhere else. The rooms are tight, old and worn. The comforter and matching pillows were filthy and old. The bathroom was filled with mold and mildew. Breakfast is no longer served, and the breakfast room is littered with junk and dirty linen. I would never recommend this place. I am not a hotel snob by any stretch, but this place is disgusting. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else!…
