I spend two nights in very nice, small, clean and quite hotel, near to town. Friendly staff. Parking outside. Comfortable bed and shower. Thank you Waterloo House for making my first trip to Dublin:):)
Waterloo House is a charming small hotel. While it is bit old and a wee bit fraying around the edges, it is impeccably clean, the staff is wonderful and you couldn't ask for a better location. Great food within blocks of the hotel. An easy walk (but long) to famous sites - and free parking. We were thrilled to have our car in Dublin for excursions outside of the city. Thank you Waterloo House for making our first trip to Dublin a great one.
Really nice hotel for a short break. parking outside and free as advertised, unlike some other hotels that don't actually have onsite parking or have an additional charge. Easy to find the location and was able to walk comfortably into town. Friendly staff and premises are extremely clean with a warm, friendly atmosphere. The room was perfect with a comfortable bed and shower with good pressure and heat. Will return.
Very friendly owner, rooms are really nice, unfortunately can‘t make a comment on breakfast as it was not avaible due to corona. Shops and restaurants/pubs can be reached by foot in a few min, also Dublin city center can be reached in about 20-30min by foot - next bus station is just a few metres from Waterloo house. Would come back for sure! :)
I really loved my little cosy room with tv and ensuite bathroom, the feeling of a grand building with lovely windows (which open, which I also love). Somehow I thought I had booked breakfast but I was told I had not and that they don't do breakfast at the moment. But there is a lovely arrangement of coffee, milk, tea, water and a kettle in the room, so it wasn't that much of a problem. Also I thought for some reason that checkin time is only between 10 and 12, so I hurried but I was told that it is actually only at 2. I could leave my stuff there, though, and the staff was very nice and helpful! I would stay again, but I suppose study more carefully what it says in the booking.
First time visitors to Ireland, my husband and I were so delighted to have chosen this lovely hotel as our base for researching his family roots. We were impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness and comfort of the room. Its great location meant that we were easily able to do some sightseeing in Dublin on the last day of our stay. We look forward to returning to Waterloo House next year and we will be recommending it to your friends and family in the US.
Booked two nights here and had a lovely stay. I booked direct with the hotel and was less expensiveI booked direct with the hotel and was less expensiveStaff friendly and welcoming, was greeted on entry by a lovely gentleman who gave me great recommendations for dining The car park was a plus. The hotel is well located and amenable to tourist locations. Walking distance to stephens green Cleanliness is excellent.
There is absolutely no reason to stay here. Customer service was a zero from the get go. Ignored calls and emails, had to get Airbnb’s assistance to communicate. Ice cold greeting upon arrival. No friendliness or hospitality whatsoever. They charge the full price for a B&B, yet don’t even offer you a cup of coffee and a roll. Zero breakfast at this guesthouse that advertises breakfast. I tried to update my reservation and the woman host tried to change the price on me, after I had reserved the room and paid for it. Host also changed my room type from a room with a tub to a room with a shower stall. First impressions do matter. And this place left me feeling very lukewarm about Dublin in general. The bed was comfortable, but the rest of the room was not clean. Very dusty lamps. Dirty tea cup. Carpet was very worn with obvious stains. The location isn’t all that convenient either. Still a good 25 minute walk to the city center. I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it anyone. Just such a bummer. Overall a huge disappointment on my first (and only) trip to Dublin. Glad I was able to stay somewhere else my last night in Ireland.…
We were in for 6 nations Rugby and the location a block away from Searsons, the Waterloo and walking distance to Avila was perfect! The rooms were very nice. They were able to arrange early taxi service for early flight with just a quick email.
We stayed this week at Waterloo House & found it great. I had a interview at the American embassy which is a 5 minute walk away & this was a great base, having parking on site is a real bonus. The house is very clean & comfortable, I worked on my laptop in the lounge area which was quite & laidback. We will return again when I am in Dublin
