Detailed Reviews
Stayed here late November, totally blown away by the professional staff Romey couldn't do enough for you, so polite professional it felt like we were in a 5 star hotel.
We stayed in a room on the first floor with a private bathroom, the room is small but it is the city centre. The room was beautifully furnished to an extremely high standard and completely spotless it was like it had just been finished. Everything felt luxurious and well thought out and extremely calming.
The breakfast was a very high standard it was amazing value for money.
A big thank you to Romey and the other Argentinian gentlemen who were so friendly and professional.
I would definitely recommended kilronan house and would go back again

Sometimes you just feel like you hit the B&B jackpot and that's the feeling Romy and Gabriel gave me throughout our two night stay. From the minute I walked in the door until the moment I left, I was pinching myself. Romy's greeting was so warm and friendly, my room was spotlessly clean and I would cheerfully have purchased a ten pound bag of the homemade granola served at breakfast if it was for sale and I wasn't flying home on Ryanair.
Gabriel lit a lovely fire in the sitting room in the evening and surprised us with delicious, complimentary Irish coffees! Hospitality doesn't get much better.
Thank you very much Romy and Gabriel for making our stay at Kilronan House such a pleasure. Kathy

We did a Dublin weekend getaway from London and stayed at Kilronan House as the first visitors after a series of renovations through the Covid period. We fell quite in love with the place. The building and rooms were lovely and charming, the owners were kind and the service at check-in and breakfast was grand. A bit of bubbly on arrival and other such small pieces that showed attentiveness made our stay special. While we spent most of the time out exploring the city, it was always nice to come back to Kilronan House at the end of the day.
Value-wise it is about right and its location is good in the quieter areas of southern Dublin near the main national landmarks and institutions, but still not more than a 20 minute walk to the very centre in Temple Bar, Grafton and O'Connoll Streets etc., through St Stephen's Green if during the day.
Highly recommend and would love to stay again if/when returning to Dublin!

The Welcome you receive at Kilronan House is genuine and warm and that level of hospitality continues throughout your stay. Breakfast is prepared on request and it is delicious and fresh. The rooms might be regarded as being relatively small but are spotlessly cleaned and serviced daily with definite attention to detail. The location is great and is within walking distance to everything a tourist might need - we loved Kilronan House.

Arrived early at Kilronan House to a warm welcome, we were told our rooms were ready and our car was parked for us. We were shown to our rooms which were clean, comfortable and spacious. Kilronan House is an old Georgian building with a lot of character and such a homely feel about it. We slept well and went down to the cosy dining room for our complimentary breakfast which was excellent, plenty of choice and made with quality ingredients. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and we’ll definitely return. It is well situated, just a short walk to the city centre through St Stephens Green. I left something behind, but it was posted to me without any fuss or cost to me. Romi the manager was a gentleman and an absolute pleasure to deal with, as were the rest of the staff. I would definitely recommend staying here, we loved it!

The guest house has handy location just a short walk from Harcourt Luas (tram) stop in a quiet Georgian part of Dublin though it is easy enough to stroll to St Stephens Green. The hotel staf fwere exceptionally welcoming explaining how the keys worked. The public area is very well furnished in keeping with the style of the building. The breakfast is good with an excellent range of cereal, fruit salad or porridge and choice of a full cokked breakfast - cooked to order (a rarity these days). I had an economy room which was 'small' but I knew this on booking. It was well presented with good en suite shower room off. No lift which may be an issue for those less able.

just can't say enough about this gem! The building is historic and beautifully maintained and a true labour of love from the owners. Lovely room with skylights in the bedroom and bathroom. Loved the decor and the beds were comfy with excellent quality linens. The bathroom was a huge surprise as was ultra modern and absolutely massive shower and fab towels and a nice variety of soaps, shampoo and shower gel. The skylight was wonderful and showering was like being outdoors in the sunshine. The room was spotlessly clean, WIF was very good and large wall mounted TV and charging ports by the beds and and open closet with shelves for shoes and clothing. Backing on to a laneway the large window was glass blocks for privacy with a blackout shade that could be lowered.
The skylights were power operated and could be opened for fresh air and a shade drawn for nighttime.
The stairs to the rooms are period and easily managed -there is not lift which is the norm for these fine old guest houses staff is very obliging when it comes to helping with luggage.
We had arrived early from a flight and were very warmly greeted and offered a spot to store luggage until our room was ready or to have tea /coffee in the lovely lounge off the breakfast room. Full of antiques and a lovely view through to the street it was a lovely spot to wind down.
The lobby area has a large selection of brochures for venues in the city and the manager only to happy to help with questions and maps to guide you to your destination.
The breakfast....well I have to say one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Served in a lovely room off the entrance and the decoration is period and opulent. Cooked to order with lots of fresh ingredients and attention to detail. My son had the full Irish which had generous portions and all beautifully prepared.
I had a fruit salad with yoghurt to start the meal-the fruit was hand cut and not from a tin which included a nice variety of favourites. I had the smoked salmon and poached eggs. The eggs were cooked to perfection but the salmon was the big winner here.....generous potion of beautiful Irish salmon, and the best I have eaten.
Tea for the table in a lovely pot with several servings and coffee refills as needed.
The staff who ran the service were friendly and so gracious with their time to make sure guests found the right breakfast selection including those with dietary needs such as GF or vegan.
I have stayed in some fabulous hotels including 5 Star and guest houses globally but the Kilronan really knocked it out of the park. They genuinely care about their guests in a manner which speaks volumes as it is not forced or over the top just an honest approach to how they feel.
The hotel is in a very good part of the city close to shopping and within a 5 minute walk to Harcourt trams and bus lines. Located on a tree lined street and quiet.

Our travel agent had booked us a room at the Conrad down the street, but because the room rate was so expensive, we decided to seek out alternatives. My wife discovered that the Kilronan was nearby and also rated very highly, so we booked it. And, are we glad that we did.
The room that we were given was recently and very professionally renovated in a modern design. It was also very clean. The breakfast included everything one could imagine, and was also delicious. The service provided here was better than we have seen anywhere. I would rank this as one of the top three B and B's that we have ever stayed at worldwide.

Wonderful welcome from the moment we arrived, the staff were so accommodating, friendly and helpful (this was the case throughout our stay). We were helped to our beautiful room (no 10), with one of the nicest hotel bathrooms I've had in a long time, organic toiletries, gorgeous shower, and very comfortable beds. Regretting I didn't take photos to share before we messed the room up!
The National Concert Hall is round the corner then a lovely stroll has you at Stephens Green and on to Grafton Street in a few mins (if like us with exhausted children on the way home, jump on the Luas and the Harcourt stop is 2 min from the hotel!).
In the morning we had a wonderful breakfast - a full Irish, a smoked salmon and pancakes - all delicious and again our server couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.
I have no doubt we will be back again. Maybe next time without the kids so we can enjoy the pubs on Camden Street, which is also just round the corner.
Thank you for a wonderful start to our Christmas break.

The hotel is very close to the main shopping streets and centers of the city and is very accessible by public transport. Despite this, you can hear little noise from the outside in the rooms. The rooms themselves are not luxurious, but all the more charming. What stands out, however, is the extremely courteous and friendly staff, which is always concerned about every hotel guest. The breakfast should also be considered in any booking. The selection is small, but incredibly tasty!

Can anyone please tell me how steep are the stairs? Is it difficult to pull a medium sized suitcase?
Very steep but staff will assist if needed all were very nice and helpful or ask for a ground room .
As others have said, Kilronan folks will offer tea and a place to stash your bags if your room isn't ready. They're wonderful people.
Usually start at 7:30 but the staff indicated it would accommodate an earlier request.
Breakfast wasn't until I think 7:30-8:30.
We arrived at midnight, so that we took a taxi. A very sympathic driver that described to us where we were driving
