This was our first time staying in Dublin, and I wanted a hotel that offered a central/convenient location. Staunton's on the Green did that, and so much more. The hotel is comprised of what used to be three individual Georgian townhomes -- so there's a definite sense of elegance and history that permeates the place. This is particularly obvious in the common spaces that make the most of their high ceilings, era-appropriate finishes, and period furnishings. My husband and I enjoyed the delicious hotel breakfast in the mornings, and stopped by the lounge for an evening beverage on our way back from sightseeing. Our room was spacious and well-maintained, and featured a comfortable king-size bed along with a few chairs, a decorative side-table, and a desk. The bathroom was small, but adequate for our needs. Storage space was a bit dear: there was no closet or real dresser -- just a cubby mounted to the wall that had some shelves and hangers (not my favorite, but okay for a short stay). I just have one very important caveat to share: the hotel DOES NOT have an elevator. Our room was on the 3rd floor, which in Europe means the 4th floor, and it got to the point where my husband and I made sure we went to breakfast with everything we needed for the day. The bellhop carried our luggage to and from the room -- which was definitely appreciated -- but if you have mobility issues or aren't exactly young, you will want to be extremely articulate when reserving your room. But aside from our unexpected daily workouts, we really enjoyed the hotel's amazing location. The beautiful St. Stephen's Green is located directly across the street, and the elegant Iveagh Gardens is accessible via a private gate in the back. We were able to easily walk to the things we wanted to do or see: Grafton Street, Trinity College, the Jameson Distillery, the Guiness Brewery, and more. All in all: a delightful stay and one that I would happily repeat in the future...as long as I specified a room on the 1st or 2nd floor!

HI LisaKLisa, Thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely kind words regarding your stay with us here at our little townhouse on St Stephens Green, We the team here really appreciate the feedback. I love the piece about "the sense of elegance and history" Sorry that your room was on the top floor unfortunately with the building being over 260 years old a lift is not an option. Please note I will read your review to the team at our next team meeting. We hope to see you again on your next trip to Dublin :) Kind Regards, John Whelan Hotel Manager john@stauntonsonthegreen.ie

Stauntons on the Green is a wonderful small hotel situated in the center of Dublin. Fronting the St. Stepehn's Green and backing to Iveagh Gardens, it provides a quiet setting in the center of town, within easy walking distance to all city center attractions. The hotel retains an old-world Irish feel, while being fully modern and comfortable. Reception spaces are cozy and comfortable, and the back garden is idyllic. We stayed in a Superior Double room that was very spacious, with three large floor to ceiling rooms overlooking the Green, a king size bed, and an ample sitting area with sofa, coffee table and easy chairs. The room was finished to a high standard, with numerous amenities, and while the bathrooms are a bit small, they are more than functional, with plenty of hot water and high quality towels. Breakfast is served in a cozy, beautifully decorated dining room, with white table linens, and excellent service. For location, comfort, and convenience, this is a very good choice for a central Dublin stay.

Hi DCTRaveller-7 Many thanks for the taking the time to leave feedback regarding your stay with us at Stauntons on the Green. I would like to start by saying we the team here at the Hotel really appreciate it. Thank you for the kind words regarding our location, the old-world Irish feel, our garden and of course our rooms. With the bathroom in your particular room as the building in over 260 years bathrooms had to be placed in rooms. In this case the Bathroom would be one of the smaller bathrooms we have. We are planning on renovating the room with in the coming year and plan to change the location of the bathroom. Please note I will read your review to the team at our next team meeting. Many thanks for choosing to stay with us at Stauntons on the Green. Kind Regards, John Whelan Hotel Manager john@@stauntonsonthegreen.ie

Really great, rather small hotel, far away from the hustle and bustle of the large hotel chains. Very nicely renovated old building with authentic furnishings. Beautiful little garden area with tables and benches for sitting outside.
The location between two large parks is another big plus - but you are still in the center with restaurants, pubs and many sights in 5-10 minutes on foot.
Very, very nice staff - always helpful with all questions and requests (6 out of 5 points!). Small bar with self-service support from the reception staff, otherwise there is always free coffee, tea, water, pastries and fruit for self-service.
Rooms were very clean and well maintained, probably recently renovated. Room service always came in the morning when we were at breakfast and was already finished when we came back from breakfast (coincidence or just well timed).
Breakfast was great. When you are assigned a table you are automatically served a bowl of fruit, yoghurt, bread, butter and jam, juice etc. - there is also a menu with hot dishes (omelette, French toast, porridge etc.) to choose from (included in the price).
All in all a really excellent hotel for a city break, with authentic Irish flair... we will be back!

Stauntons on the Green is a beautiful hotel in a great location right on the park. You can easily walk to everything but it is quiet at night. The desk clerk told me at check in that breakfast was included with our room but when I went to check out a different desk clerk very sheepishly handed me a bill for 165 euros for 3 days of breakfast for 3 people. When I inquired, all he could explain in broken English was that this was for some "Extra Breakfasts". I had to catch a plane home so we didn't have time to argue but BEWARE!

HI 778daniellas, Thank you for the feedback. We the team here at our little townhouse really appreciate it. It is lovely to read that you found the hotel and location to be suited to your needs. Sorry to read about the Breakfast situation. It is not ideal to have to pay extra €165 However looking at the details of the booking it does not say that breakfast was included, All of the team that work at the Front desk speak fluent english so I am not sure on the confusion. It would seem that you checked out rather early with a member of our night porter team. Our night porters would not be familiar with non refundable bookings as we do not sell as much non refundable room only bookings since before covid, these bookings do not include Breakfast. Obviously this is not feedback that we like to receive as we like our guests to feel looked after while staying with us, Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Please note we would have liked the opportunity to discuss this in more detail. Thank you for staying with us at Stauntons on the Green. Kind Regards, John Whelan Hotel Manager

We stayed here as a family group of seven and really enjoyed the hotel. There was ample room and the breakfast was great. Beautiful gardens in the back, and everyone on staff, from the housekeepers, waitstaff at breakfast and front desk staff were all so friendly and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again for those reasons and the convenient location just across the street from St. Stephen's Green. If you need a quieter room, request one in the back of the property and you should also note there is no lift to get to the upper floors.

I was given a warm welcome when I arrived after a three and a half hour delay on my journey, and the hotel was as pleasant as I remembered it from last year. The rooms I had, although single rooms were spotless and everything was in working order, with masses of hot water and a delicious box of chocolates as a welcome gift. The beds were very comfortable and it was quiet. I had to have various rooms, as because of the storms my flights were unable to leave, so I ended up staying up three extra nights in the end. All the reception staff were very helpful, and sympathetic as it was all so uncertain. The breakfasts are top quality with an interesting menu choice and delicious home baking and fresh berries. All the staff, reception and breakfast waiters were so friendly and I felt a very personal relationship was offered. I’m afraid I don’t have individual names, but thank you to all of you, and I am looking forward to my next stay. Christina

We recently stayed for four nights at this lovely hotel in Dublin. The stay absolutely exceeded my expectations.
We stayed in two rooms, a large suite facing the park and our kids were in a twin room facing their garden. Garden area is definitely quieter but the view of the park and the size of the front room was worth a little street noise. Both rooms were spacious and immaculately clean. Bathrooms were updated and linens and towels were excellent quality. Breakfast was worth every penny and after our first morning the hotel was where the whole family wanted to eat each day.
Their garden is spectacular and was my favorite spot to relax and read and listen to all the birds. The location is perfect and the park across the street and behind the hotel garden are beautiful. It’s a perfect Dublin location.
The best part of the hotel is the staff. Every single person from the front desk to breakfast to housekeeping to management were kind and professional. You can tell they enjoy their jobs and it’s a nice place to work based on their excellent energy. I highly recommend this hotel!

Excellent stay, FANTASTIC ATTENTIVE STAFF, fantastic breakfast , interior is very much in keeping with the Georgian exterior. There is no air con as stated but a very good fan is provided in rooms and window opens wide. The facilities were excellent, shower was great and the Voya products too. We enjoyed an after breakfast stroll in the Iveagh gardens which is easily accessed through a locked gate at the end of the beautiful hotels terraced garden. The only suggestions we would give is to put a net curtain on room window even though it was a first floor room it overlooked the beautiful garden were people were sitting and they could see in. The pillows were full of air and we found then uncomfortable but perhapes thats a personal taste. The stain on the carpet (accidents happen I am sure it will be removed when there is time)took away from the otherwise beautiful, clean and very well maintained room. The hotel was recommended by a friend, it is a real gem both inside and out and we will return soon. Thank you for a fantastic stay and your very generous bottle of proscecco on arrival - a really nice touch❤ The hotel is a credit to you and your staff.

Amazing location in the heart of St Stephens Green. First time in this Hotel. I was here for a one night stay for work. When I pulled upside the hotel to drop off my luggage, a staff member was out immediately to carry in my bags. The ladies in reception were so lovely and welcoming. The room is a great size with all the usual hotel amenities. Great looking outdoor area which is unusual to see in the city and would be lovely in the summer. Great value for a one night stay in a city that can be very expensive. I will definitely stay here again.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! The room was beautiful and the windows overlooked the garden in the back, which made for a stunning view to wake up to each morning. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. The staff was accommodating and very friendly, always happy to answer whenever I had any questions. I included the breakfast upgrade with my room and if you are considering doing this I HIGHLY recommend it, the food was phenomenal. The hotel is also perfectly situated next to the St. Stephen’s Green LUAS stop, several bus stops, and many restaurants. This was important to me as a solo traveler, I never had to travel more than 20 minutes to get to any of my sightseeing stops. The hotel is also directly across from St. Stephen’s Green which was so convenient for taking impromptu strolls in this beautiful park. I will definitely be staying here again in the future!

I agree, plenty of pavement area to unload luggage from a taxi. We arrived early and they held our bags until check in. Even had our luggage in the room waiting for us.
There are more places to choose from in the Dublin area.
