Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Best location in Dublin. Great bar with fab decor and fab food and entertainment. Rooms now looking a bit tired although spotlessly clean. River rooms great views, back and side rooms views not great but rooms fine for a short stay. Great breakfast. All very fresh and nice and you can eat as much as you want.

This is an inexpensive hotel centrally located near the River Liffey. Close to most tourist attractions. My room was an adequate size and very comfortable. The front desk staff were very nice and answered any questions I had. Breakfast was served in a large dining area and had a large selection of items. This is a good choice for a short stay in Dublin.

This is literally my favourite spot to have a nice bit of grub and drink after a days shopping, or a stop in before a night out. The staff are always so welcoming and polite, I'd like to name them all unfortunately my memory isn't the best but Mags, and Paulina especially are very very good at their jobs, they go above and beyond to make sure customers/residents are all having a nice stay/time...honestly food, staff, cleanliness and location is second to none and the new menu is tops, it has a great terrace to sit and watch the hustle and bustle of dublin city centre.

This hotel is right downtown within walking distance of most major tourist attractions such as Dublin Castle, St Patrick's Cathedral, Trinity College and Temple Bar. The hotel staff were friendly. There is an onsite bar and restaurant which was convenient. The room itself was quite small and there wasnt any air conditioning. There was no fan in the bathroom so it was also quite warm. Overall we had a nice stay.

Spent 9 days at the Arlington Hotel. The location is central to all that is Dublin. The beds are comfy and the rooms are adequate. My first trip to Europe so I wasn’t totally prepared for what to expect so this review is from an American perspective. Rooms are very small and very little storage. For two people there was enough room to sleep but not to sit back and relax. There was not enough storage for clothes for two so we were living out of suitcases that we kept tripping over. Not a lot of amenities so bring your own washcloths, shampoo and lotions. Wifi was virtually non nonexistent except for a small area in the lobby. Only one of the two elevators was working and stairs were only available for the trip down so it was a bit of a challenge getting to our room on occasion. All this being said, the hotel staff was amazing. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. Shane at the front desk was the best and the breakfast servers were outstanding. Cleaning staff made sure rooms were cleaned daily that there were plenty of towels and they were very accommodating. I would stay there again knowing what I know now but being prepared for how hotels are in this part of the world.

We were a party of 8 who ate in this hotel before heading to a show and we were not disappointed. 2 members of our party had the beef burger and said it was one of the best they had ever tasted. Fish and chips was also nice as was the chicken wings and ribs fish. Really really good food and great value for money. Well done folks.

I stayed here for two nights this month for a short getaway with a friend. The hotel was lovely and clean. It had beautiful decor and the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Nothing was a problem. Our room was cleaned regularly and the location was absolutely perfect! We were able to walk everywhere we wanted too :) I would definitely stay here again! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

This hotel has remanence of a very fine hotel. Unfortunately, those days must be long gone. Very basic hotel with minimal to no amenities. Location is not great. Very good customer service from about 30% of the hotel workers and bar staff. The other 70%, seemed bothered by the hotel guests with questions or issues, or even our presence. I stayed 5 days and our room was only cleaned 1 time. I would not stay here again or recommend this hotel.

Arlington hotel has a great location, most of what you need or want to see is just around the corner. The staff is very freindly and helpful. The breakfast is ok, but not for a vegetarian unless he/she can live on dry toast - it is very traditional. The bar/restaurant is fine, but the staff here expect you to want someting to eat each time you enter. There was live music several evenings of good quality, but they were let down by a sound system with a penetrading hum sound to it. Our room was ok, nice and clean and without disturbing noice, but the bathroom was really bad. The size was ok, but not the size of the shower cabinet; you could stay directly under the water or get stuck to the curtain, and the ventilation was so bad that it took around 24 hours for the towels to dry again, so if you took a shower before going out at night, you could not take one in the morning becaus the towels were still wet.

Upon entering, the lobby is beautiful and the staff is friendly. There is a restaurant attached which is fantastic for late night meals when you don’t want to go far. The breakfast offered is basic but acceptable, as long as you’re not a vegan (I am, my husband is not). Conveniently many of the day tour groups end their days directly in front of the hotel, which was a blessing after a long day. However, this is where the “luxury” of this hotel ends. Roughly half the rooms are not accessible by elevator. This means that if you’re not lucky (or your flight is delayed and you arrive later in the evening), you’ll find yourself carrying 2 weeks of luggage up 3 floors. When you arrive to your room you’ll discover that there is no fridge, no microwave, and no AC, something we were aware was common in historic buildings, but was not mentioned on their website touting “modern amenities”. Our other hotels this trip have either been retrofitted with AC or have a portable in the room. And if you decide to plug in the very loud fan they provide, you now have only 1 outlet in the room and it is nowhere near the bed. They also state that many of their rooms face the river. Out of two rooms (after 2 nights we asked to switch to one of the back rooms connected to the elevator), neither looked out on anything but the very close building next door. Our room at the front of the building had absolutely no character and both looked and felt old. The room at the back at least had some pictures on the walls and felt a bit more updated. Neither bed was comfortable. The convenience of this hotel was fantastic, but if you’re looking for luxury, this isn’t it.
