Proximity to public transportation including buses and Luas on Dawson Street. Walking distance to major tourist destinations. Outstanding staff who made us feel like family for over a week and we’re available 24-7. Practically silent at night despite central location. Extremely comfortable apartment with washer/dryer and dishwasher.

This was a short term (30-day) stay to begin a longer term expat assignment. Very centrally located and quiet. The staff were helpful and responsive. If the Wi-Fi were stronger I would have rated it a perfect score. It is getting dated but the management is keeping it up.

This place gets such high marks on TripAdvisor I was beginning to suspect Riona and Deirdre were writing these reviews themselves. Kidding aside, Molesworth Court honestly is as good as all the reviews say. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit 4 days last week and absolutely loved it. Riona and Deirde were also extremely pleasant and helpful. We were greeted with warm Irish countryside hospitality right in the heart of the Dublin city.
Molesworth Court's location is near perfect, right in the best part of Dublin and you can truly walk to just about anything within 5 minutes. Grafton Street, Trinity College, St Stephen's Green, The National Gallery, National Museum, National Library, Leinster House are all just one or two blocks from the front door.
All the rooms have balconies and the penthouses have very nice terraces. If you are not staying in the penthouses, I would recommend trying to get one of the rooms in the back of the building because they have an added bonus of overlooking the nice little courtyard of the lawyers office behind.
The suites are nicely decorated, all of the furniture in the rooms was modern and in good condition, and the beds were very comfortable.
The only possible things I could find that may detract someone from choosing Molesworth:
1. There is currently no broadband internet access, only dialup. Riona did advise they are actively working on getting the building wired for highspeed access, so this may not be an issue in the future. Good news is that Ron Black's pub (not the small lounge but the bigger one) around the corner on Dawson street has free wireless access, so you can order a pint and surf to your heart's content.
2. Molesworth Court is located on a small one way lane/alley of which one side is very quaint with small shops and a high-end restaurant called One Pico, and the other side is somewhat unattractively dotted with a parking garage and the backside other buildings. The good thing about this location is that it is dead quiet at night and you don't get any noise from traffic or drunken partiers when the pubs let out. Although it's an alley we never felt unsafe or uneasy walking through there during the day or late at night. Most of the people we saw walking through lane were either dressed in business attire during the day or dressed to go out for dinner at night.
3.You are staying in a very nice apartment not a hotel room. There is no daily maid service and the front desk is not staffed 24 hours a day. Keeping that in mind, Molesworth is ideal for a family or a group of 3 or more and a great value for the money.

I travel to Ireland every year and usually stay in a B & B. However, I found it very hard to find an affordable, yet comfortable, hotel in Dublin until I discovered Molesworth Court Suites. It's not so much a hotel as renting an apartment in the middle of the city. The location is superb. It's two blocks from St. Stephen's Green and one block from the Dail. Grafton Street is a two minute walk. The apartment is wonderful. It had an American style large bathroom, full modern kitchen, large comfortable bedroom and small living room with television. The only criticism I can offer is that there is noboby on staff during the evening. So, if somebody is loud and having a big party in the room next door, which happened to us, there is no one to contact. Notwithstanding this, I would highly recommend this "hotel" and plan on staying there every time I am in Dublin. Great value for the money. Better than any hotel I've stayed in Dublin and I've stayed in the Clarence.

We just returned from 3 days at the Molesworth. We visit Ireland about once a year and have stayed in a wide variety of accommodations. This is by far the best. The location is unbelievable--right around the corner from Trinity College and Grafton St. The price is right--the same as a night at the Hilton. And the staff could not be more welcoming. We arrived after midnight on a Friday and were greeted by Deirdre like we were long lost relatives. Even though the hour was late, she graciously showed us around the suite to be certain we were well settled. As other reviewers have noted, the kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed for a lovely breakfast the next morning.

I was a bit concerned about the lack of designated non-smoking rooms, but was assured that the rooms are well aired between guests. That promise was kept and we arrived to a fresh smelling suite that was neat as a pin. I was also concerned about noise given the in-town location. That was not a problem since it is actually tucked away on a quiet side-street.

Rionna Canney, the property manager, is very responsive to email inquiries and will go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. We will return again and again and have already recommended it to friends.

Although we started off badly, in the end we didn't want to leave our quaint little apartment.
First of all, be sure to ensure someone will be available to open the front door for you when you arrive. We thought we had already arranged this but we were left outside in the cold for at least an hour. We spent the first 20 minutes outside on a cool, windy and rainy day pushing call buttons to no avail. When you're with luggage and a toddler after a very long journey this was not fun. Then a kind guest of the hotel, who was returning from a shopping round, let us in. We sat in the cool lobby for another 40 minutes before staff showed up (she had stepped out). To her credit, she was very apologetic and helpful - she was just substituting for staff who couldn't make it that Sunday and didn't know we were coming in the afternoon. She also helped get our lost luggage back from Aer Lingus and it showed up about 6 hours after our arrival.

OK, so then we settle into our little one bedroom apartment which was clean with a fully equipped kitchen and all the things you would need, only to find there was no hot water and the apartment was FREEZING. One of the french doors from the bedroom was ajar so there was a nasty cold draft nicely cooling the apartment. It took us 20 minutes to try to jam it back closed. Then we had to figure out how the electric heaters turned on. It seems logical to simply turn the temperature dial or flip a switch but it was not as easy as it seemed - we were in Ireland and things just don't work the same as in Canada.
After a long journey I desperately needed to bathe the baby and wash up. It seems we arrived at a time when the timer was not on for the water heater.
So we froze and cursed over the state of the apartment for the next hour, while I kept boiling water and adding it to the tub and sink. Eventually, we figured everything out and by evening the baby had his warm bath and the apartment was back to a livable temperature.

We were in unit 4 (on the level above reception) and the wood floors and ceramic bathroom floor remained ice cold throughout the entire stay, and there were no area carpets. I don't know if the room was above the unheated garage or if the insulation below us was non-existent but we wished we brought our ultra thick slippers! Maybe everyone wears shoes in their homes in Ireland but where I come from, wet and dirty shoes stay in the lobby.

The next obstacle was getting a high speed internet
connection to our apartment. We were here on business so it was very important for us. The Manager told us this would be arranged but we couldn't find it when we arrived. The next morning we bothered a member of the cleaning staff for it and she very quickly helped us out.
I think high-speed is new to the building so none of the apartments were pre-wired. Our help consisted of the lady going out to the back of the building and making sure we were on our balcony to catch the cable bundle. We secured it to the balcony then sent it into the apartment via the french doors and along the wall. It worked. So if you are on business or happen to have your laptop with you while on vacation this place offers high speed internet with an ethernet connection!

As other reviewers have mentioned this self-service hotel is within walking distance to everything. The place is very quiet at night and everyone is friendly. Since it's difficult to eat out all the time with a toddler we purchased prepared foods from Marks and Spencers or ordered in from the cafes and restaurants close by.

If you want luxurious comfort and like your bed turned down at night go somewhere else. But if you like the idea of self-service apartments this place is perfect, especially for families. The staff left juice, milk and breakfast provisions which is a nice touch. They're also very helpful, that is, when they're around.

I would definitely stay here again as the price is right. I read that Dublin has become the most expensive city in Europe so by staying here you'll save that extra money to blow on pints of Guiness and that traditional Irish drum you always wanted.

We just returned from a 3-day stay here. First I will report on the good - the location is excellent and the manager is very friendly. The apartment was spacious and adequately appointed. Milk, cereal and a few other food items were provided to get us started.

The cons: Other than when we checked in and out, we never saw a single person working at or near the front desk; no employees are on duty between 4-6 pm; the front desk phone is not always answered; the hot water is not turned on at night and no one warns you of this; towels and linens are not replaced; toilet paper and trash bags are not replaced; because you must turn on a timer 2 hours in advance of a shower to have hot water we had to set our alarms clocks 2 hours early in order to have hot showers; even still the hot water runs out midway through the second person's shower.

This place is fine, and I guess the price is OK given that in Dublin hotels are very expensive and given that we had 2 bedrooms, a living area, and a kitchen. However, for a place that was just adequate and had these inconveniences, I simply do not understand the rave reviews.

I stayed at the Molesworth Court Suites with three other individuals for 2 days in early February. We had just reserved a 1BR to save money and because we would not be spending much time in the room. Upon our arrival, we were automatically upgraded to a 2BR free of charge because the proprietor thought it would be more comfortable for us. She let us check in early after an overnight flight before sending us on our way with great breakfast and activity recommendations for the day. I should also mention that she had been extremely helpful even months in advance when we had first made the reservations, responding to emails very promptly and always with useful information. Our suite (#6) was very comfortable, with plenty of heat and hot water (both controlled individually per unit) and lots of space. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything one would need for a short or long stay, including dishes, microwave, refrigerator, and even a French press coffeemaker. An in-unit washer/dryer was also there. Beds were comfortable, plenty of storage space, good water pressure in the shower - basically all the requisites for a comfortable stay were present. The only thing remains, then, is to comment on the location - and it is fantastic! Within easy walking distance to ANYWHERE in the city centre, we were especially close to the shopping areas of Grafton and Nassau street, Trinity College, St Stephen's Green and the Temple Bar area. More bohemian shopping tastes were fulfilled further west at South City Market shops on George's Street. We were able to get to Guinness, Jameson and St Patrick's Cathedral with no difficulty also, and made use of the myriad of pubs along the way for brief repast. Overall, between the superb quality of the room, the service and the location, I would definitely use the Molesworth Court Suites again in the future as the perfect headquarters for a brief or lengthy stay in this great city.

My family stayed in the top floor 3 BR penthouse suite in Dublin and we found it to be too good to be true. Great location, clean, quiet (off a side street with little street traffic), modern and with a very helpful staff. This is not a full service hotel or a B&B, so breakfast and maid service not a part of the package. Also there are no lifts so be ready to schlep your luggage up a winding flight of stairs. But for the size and quality of rooms and location (squarely between St. Stephens Green and Trinity College) its really hard to beat this place if you are in Dublin for an extended period.

We enjoyed to rooftop terrace for morning tea!

We were all very satisified with the Molesworth Court and recommend it.

This was a great apartment for our family to stay at while in Dublin. The location is awesome. Grafton Street, Trinity College, St Stephens Green are all within a 5 minute walk. Plenty of shopping, pubs, restaurants are also in the immediate area. The hotel staff really treats you as if you are family and will help you with any detail, grocery shopping etc... The kids loved this place. The walls are solid so you can't hear any noise from your neighbors and they can't hear yours. A taxi ride from the airport will run you between 20-25 euros. There is mass transportation very close by and all of the hop on, hop off tour buses are within a 5 minute walk. This truly is a home away from home in the center of Dublin. If you have small children take them to feed the ducks in St Stephens Green park, they will love it. Cheers.
