Fantastic hotel in the heart of Dublin. Just far enough from Temple Bar that you don’t get all the noise, but it’s only a short walk to get there as well as Trinity College, St Stephens Green Park, and plenty of great Pubs. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. William and Paddy are great. Thanks for a great stay!

Thank you to the kind staff of Buswells. From the front desk staff who gave excellent directions and helped with transportation to the staff in the resturant and bar. We had a lovely stay. Paddy gave us great directions to the Covid Testing clinic and then to a lovely pub for dinner and music. The lads at breakfast are so attentive and keep the buffet well attended. Buswells is in a great location with an easy walk to Grafton Street for shopping and people watching or St. Stephens Green for exercise. A hidden gem in the city.

This is a charming hotel in a great location. Our room was small, but had everything we needed. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Service was excellent, and the breakfast was good. We had a room in the back of the hotel, but still heard street noise.

The property itself: beautifully appointed. Woman on morning of Thursday 8/11 whom we asked to see the Concierge didn't get him, then looked down her nose when we asked questions about what to do in the area. Finally, the concierge appeared. The nicest kid at the coffee house just on the corner (to your right as you exit), Shawn, was MOST helpful and we planned our day using HIS not the hotel's poor advice. The rooms are really pretty. Signage needs updating (no sign to our room as we got off the elevator (218). Waiter in the restaurant on our arrival evening was very sweet. Slow service, but it was a slow night and we didn't mind. Area is questionable. Not dodgy, but we had to open windows (no AC and we were getting the Global Warming warm weather, or room was HOT (even with noisy fan provided), so we had to keep windows open. Couldn't sleep all nights due to noise outside (partiers). Each morning we witnessed evidence of the partying in the street/vomit/trash. It was quite loud. Good location. Over priced for experience. As pretty as the photos on line were,it was not a reality of a small luxury hotel. We much preferred our hotels in London and Edinburgh (Ampersand London & Nira Caledonia, Edinburgh) to this hotel.

Dear FleurFlowers, Thank you for your recent review. The property is beautifully appointed as you acknowledge and the staff in the bar were wonderful. Your comments of reception talking down to you seem at odds with the experience of guests in this hotel but none the less I have passed this observation to my front office manager. You portray the street outside as noisy with evidence of trash & vomiting, I am afraid this is totally untrue and how you chose to include this comment in the review is questionable. Buswells is on a quiet street, no bars or clubs and fortunate to have 24 hours police officers on duty as we are beside the Irish Parliament. Fair reviews are constructive and welcomed even if critical but reviews such as yours are designed to distort the reality of the experience. Yours sincerely, Paul Gallagher.

We stayed here for 2 nights on a visit from the North. We were absolutely delighted with everything at Buswells. The staff are all first rate, the decor so elegant and tasteful and the character of the hotel is delightful. It's also spotlessly clean. Given its central location a stone's throw from all the main attractions we couldn't have asked for more. We would highly recommend Buswells. It's fantastic.

We started our Rick Steves tour of Ireland in Dublin. This was the hotel Rick chose for the tour group. We were not disappointed. We were there 4 days at the start, then 3 more days when our tour ended. It’s a great place. From the moment you walk in the door, you’re greeted by Paddy, the amazing concierge, then also by the front desk staff. (sometimes Lenore). Check in is super easy. The rooms are well appointed, very clean and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant many times, had drinks there, and enjoyed the super breakfast. The food was always good, well priced, and freshly prepared. We became acquainted with some of the food and beverage folks. Two young ones, Diego and Dilek were super attentive. They are all wonderful, and I’m sorry I don’t remember all their names. There is a pleasant sitting area in the lobby and also just outside of the restaurant/bar if you like to just relax out of your room. Of all the places we stayed in the three weeks we were in Ireland this was our favorite place.

The location is great -- adjacent to St. Stephen's Green, Parliament, and museums. Easy walking distance from Grafton street shopping, EPIC emigration museum, General Post Office, Dublin Castle. The hotel staff were professional and the facilities were clean and charming. Great breakfast as well. Covid extended our stay here and we found room service to be responsive and very accommodating. The price was better than most big city US hotels for equivalent service. Highly recommended.

Have stayed at Buswells several times and am always happy to return. The reception staff are friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast menu is excellent - wide choice and freshly cooked to order. Bar facilities are first class. All members of staff are polite and engaging - I recommend Buswells.

We are so glad we stayed at Buswells to experience Irish hospitality right in the center of Dublin. Our room on the front overlooked a quiet street. Cross ventilation with open windows kept us cool at night with temps in the 50's. Our room was recently renovated with new tile and a spacious bath/shower. We had plenty of storage space in the closet and dressers. The quiet private breakfast rooms with a full Irish breakfast buffet are separate from the full service restaurant and bar. Paddy, the concierge, made us feel welcome every day with his cheerful demeanor and helpful suggestions on things to do. We took the train to Houth with his encouragement to take advantage of the good weather day, and we had the best day ever hiking the cliffs on the coast and enjoying the fresh seafood at the restaurants. I loved staying in a smaller boutique hotel. They have a lift, but we used the stairs. It is across the street from the Ireland Museum of Archaeology and a couple of blocks from Trinity College one way and a block the other way from St. Stephen's Green. We were in the middle of the museums and restaurants, but *not* within earshot of the night activity along busy Grafton Street. Seagulls nested outside one window, where I watched two babies nestle together as they were not yet able to fly off the roof. So now every time I hear a seagull, I will think of Dublin! (Thankfully the birds went to sleep at night and didn't keep us awake.) Buswells was not a cookie cutter chain hotel with its antique light fixtures, beautiful decorative plaster walls, meandering staircases, and warm Irish hospitality from the housekeepers, waitresses and the front desk receptionist. We had to leave our room key with the front desk each time we went out as the locks were keyed by one key which worked fine. There was always someone available at the front desk. We came back after 11 PM one night, and the doorman promptly let us in the locked front door. Once we had dinner at Buswells instead of going out again, and it was so nice not to have to look further for a place to eat. Apparently it is a popular spot for afternoon tea or evening drinks with the locals, because it was always fairly busy during meal times. The patrons were usually dressed in business attire. We never heard any noise from the restaurant in our room. We would definitely return.

Whilst the hotel was clean and tidy, We felt that the breakfast display was some what underwhelming, The continental was limited, The cold meat selection looked very sparce on both days and the fresh fruit was limited. The full Irish breakfast was quite small. could have been larger perhaps, only 30 baked Beans in a small ramakin, 1 Sausage and 1 Rasher of Bacon, 1 small egg and a few mushrooms. Hospitality, I would have expected more interaction with the waiting staff at breakfast, they were polite enough, but we didn't get that warm welcome experience we were expecting. Bar staff and reception staff were welcoming though and the one meal we had in the bar was nice and value for money. As we were visiting Ireland for the first time it would have been nice to have the Irish conversations we were looking forward too, However there appeared to be a lot of staff with Irish/English being their second languarge. There was a plus point on our departure day a very nice Irish lady who was cleaning the front of the hotel interacted with us pointing out the slip hazard and appeared very genuine, she wished us a fond farewell. Both my wife and myself said at the time we wish we had seen more of this during our stay. Thank you to the lady from housekeeping didn't get her name sorry. Well done!
