We stayed here for a few nights at the beginning and end of our trip to Ireland. We considered changing hotels for the end but decided to give Jurys a second chance. There are a few things that made our stay acceptable, but more that will have us staying somewhere else on our next trip. Here are our pros and cons. Pros - Friendly and helpful staff, location is great, and breakfast is good! (if these are the things you are looking for, then it might be the place for you. However, the cons outweigh those things for us. Cons - The lobby smell. - there is a strong artificial air freshener smell in the lobby that was so strong that we could not sit in the space or use the bar. I have asthma, and this was a health issue for me. The rooms are dated, and the bathrooms are small. It is hard to get out of the bath if you have shorter legs (hold on to the rail). I also went into the bathroom in socks and slipped over. There are no washcloths in the room, so bring your own if you use them, Only one side of the bed had an electrical outlet. If you both use a phone or a CPAP, this will be a problem. The hotel did supply us with an extension cord when asked. Overall this hotel is in need of an update and some basic thoughts for health and safety.…
We stayed here Thurs - Sun in January. Location was brilliant, we got the Dublin express coach from the airport and a stop was near the hotel and its near temple bar and a lively area and short walk to Grafton St. The room - We booked a king room, the bed was huge and comfortable, kettle and tea tray in the room, nice bathroom and it was spotlessly clean. We were on the main road with a nice view of Christchurch, but a little worried about road noise but the soundproofing in the rooms and the windows meant you couldn't hear the road noise at all, quite imprssive. Hotel staff and bar - Overall a nice hotel, standard for this type and price point. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Bar was reasonably priced compared to bars in the local area, same for the food. I had room service which came quickly. Bad points - not many for us on our stay. Only two things. 1. a fire alarm test friday morning, which we weren't told about upon check in and woke us up (about 9am, we were having a lie in!) it would be good to tell guests checking in if there is going to be anythng like this. 2. Friday night we were woken up around 1am by people banging on our door very hard, over and over, we then heard them banging on other doors trying to get in rooms. Which when you've just woken up can be alarming. We realised they must be trying to get into rooms their friends are in and they had had a few too many drinks and forgot their room numbers. These things happen and its not the hotels fault, but at the same time the lift needs a key card to gain entry so you wonder how they managed to get in the lift, so a little security issue maybe. Also them banging on doors and shouting was quite alarming and at first we thought they we're trying to get into our room and it was a little scary and no double for the people staying in the other rooms they were banging on. The above isn't the hotels fault, its drunk guests not respecting other people but it was going on for 5-10 minutes so you'd expect hotel staff to notice this on cctv and some and see what was going and again the issue of people gaining entry to a secure area for rooms without a keycard is a worry. Overall we had a great stay, we paid a good rate and also cashed in a hotels.com free night so for what we actually paid its hard to fault the hotel, rooms, or facilities. …
I'm writing this review from my room before I depart early because wow. I highly recommend staying somewhere else. I stood in line respectfully waiting for my turn and they spoke to everyone else (including staff) for quite a while. One of them even picked up a phone when I clearly had been waiting to be helped. Another was doing absolutely nothing the entire time I stood at the desk, she never acknowledged me or even looked up. 5 people at the desk and no one could help me? Odd. When I finally was helped, I asked to extend and the person told me yes but that it would come with a fee. Totally fine. Then, another person quite rudely tells her own associate I cannot extend because they had 10 rooms left to sell. I mean, really? When I was willing to pay extra and you have available rooms? Her associate even apologized to me behind the rude woman's back, unreal. There is no shampoo or conditioner so, make sure to bring your own. Toilet paper is super thin so, you may want to bring that as well. The shower had rust stains and I had to wipe a hair away with one of the towels. There is a tea kettle in the room which is nice but, no water. If you try to use the tap water, the kettle does not fit. I'm used to hotels with at least one bottle of water in the room. However, there are vending machines on each floor so, I ended up doing that. If I have to mention anything positive, it would be location. It's central to Temple bar and the shopping. So, if you like cleaning your shower, don't plan on spending any time in the room or speaking to the staff, it may be convenient for you. The industry is called hospitality but there is none to find in this place. They clearly do not need your money, best to spend it somewhere else. …
It is the fourth time that we accomodate in this hotel. Positive points are, first of all, the location in the very centre of the city with a very close stop from the airport bus. You can go walking to every remarkable place in Dublin. According to the hotel itself, people at the reception is friendly and willing to solve any problem or question you would have. The same can be said to the rest of the staff in the hotel. Breakfast is good and not very expensive to the standards. We have occupied a triple big room. The insonorisation of the room is perfect. This aspect is important due to its location in a very busy street. The bathroom is ok. Cumplimentary coffee, tea an milk are available at the room, also hair dryer and an iron. To mention only a negative point, the closet which is small for three people. Surely we will come back to this hotel the next time we visit Dublin …
First visit to Ireland! My sister and I stayed 4 nights with breakfast included. Our room was ready upon arrival around 11 am. The staff was so helpful. Our rooms were clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed a pint at the end of every evening. Close to all attractions and the hop on hop off
The place itself is great, perfect position to visit the whole city, wonderfully connected. Rooms are comfy and clean. The staff must be especially mentioned: people at the reception are kind and considerate, really helpful. The cleaning staff does a wonderful job and the breakfast room staff is just the kind of people you want to talk to when you've been awake for ten minutes. Great experience.
A wonderful start to 2023 in my favourite place to stay, ever! So delighted to see so many international visitors returning and the place buzzing as it previously has in the 20 years I’ve been staying here. A beautiful room, outstanding rate and a beautiful couple of days. Breakfast fabulous, bar as relaxing as always - thank you Alan Buckley and Agnieszka for your warmth, kindness and hospitality and looking forward to seeing you again soon ❤️❤️
Stayed for one night with my sisters. Hotel was very central 10 mins walk to temple bar area, surrounded by cafes and restaurants in the area. Hotel very clean and staff very helpful. Thank you for a great stay. Will definitely stay again.
Took my son to Ireland for his 14th Birthday. His father just passed away and he was of Irish descent so my son choose to be close to his father’s lineage since his fathers side here in the states is nasty. The reception we received at check in from Tamara was absolutely wonderful. Tamara is a real asset to this company. She really made us feel welcomed and like a part of the family. We had a wonderful room with a view of Christ Church. The restaurant was wonderful as well. A big thank you to Tamara and the rest of the staff for making our stay a wonderful one and we will be back again!
Beautiful lobby, great location near Dublinia and Christ church, pubs, restaurant and river Leffey! Rooms outdated, but rustic, really clean though! Not soundproof, be aware beforehand. Staff and service impeccable! Breakfast was plenty and tasty too!
