If you are looking for substandard hotel in an fancy building, look no further! The shower was just cold drips of water. The street noise made it difficult to sleep. We asked for 2 glasses of drinking water and we were told we had glasses in our room for tap water from the bathroom. The glasses were behind the toilet and it's safe to say we didn't use them. We payed extra for breakfast. We were offered basic breakfast cereal, cold eggs or toast. Extremely disappointed with the entire breakfast situation. The only positives were that the staff were very friendly and location was central. But these things didn't make up for how appalling our stay was. :(
The Albany is located on Harcourt street on the beautiful St Stephens green area of Dublin. It is within easy walk of St Stephens green, and the Iveagh gardens are directly behind. It is an easy walk to the Grafton Street shopping area, the Luas tram green line runs past the hotel, which will get you into the city centre in minutes. The accommodation was fantastic, we had a beautiful living, bed and bathroom. All decorated to the highest standards. The hotel doesn’t have a bar or restaurant, but we dined in the excellent Devitts pub a short walk away. The staff were all extremely friendly and help, Will definitely return.
Stayed here with a friend on Friday night after getting a deal on pigsback and the hotel was lovely, nice and clean and the staff were very friendly. Such a central location great value for money. Will definitely stay again.
We had the most wonderful time in this hotel. The staff just couldn’t be friendlier and so accommodating as well. The price was wallet friendly, but the service was 6 stars! Thank you for everyone for making us feel so comfortable, especially with a tiny toddler in tow. We will most definitely return! Highly recommend for everyone who comes for a visit to Dublin, the location is just perfect!
Meant to write this a long time ago. Aware that businesses are reopening after the Covid-19 pandemic and wanted to do my bit and help. I’ve stayed here a number of times over the past ten years. The staff are friendly, the office manager guy - Eoin? in particular has gone out of his way over the years to accommodate my requests - whether it is taxi service or help with the WiFi. I sometimes stay here because of its location and proximity to work. The hotel is kept clean, updated (I’ve notice upgrades to the rooms over the years) and the breakfast is always fresh and pleasant. It is continental style. If you need a city centre stay this is it( you can walk to everywhere - perfect for tourists - and the Luas is 2 mins walk away).
