The Aberdeen Lodge is an absolute gem and Pat and Ann are the most wonderful of hosts. The quiet and very beautiful neighborhood is within a very short walk to the DART train for a 10 minute ride into the heart of Dublin and an easy stroll to a beautiful beach on Dublin Bay. If you are tired after a long day, there is no need to travel into Dublin for dinner as the little town center is also just a short walk from the Lodge and there are plenty of nice restaurants to choose from. Our room was just beautiful and Ann's breakfasts were terrific and make sure that you try her homemade brown Irish soda bread. The backyard is a wonderful place to relax after spending the day touring all the sites of Dublin and for people who miss their dogs that were left at home, there are two

I booked the place at random because it had prices lower than the ones in the centre and most of all because it seemed to promise a more homey atmoshpere. The place delivered everything it portrayed on their website and other sites. A huge bonus for me: it is a place where the owners live as well with their children, the cat and two fabulous retrievers. My room was on the top floor and as there is no lift since the place is an old villa,I nicely worked off all the food I had on a particular day. They only offer breakfast but the choice is very good. Dining room and the sitting room feel like a bit of Downton Abbey on a smaller scale. The owners were helpful with adapters and umbrellas, ready to chat and provide reliable info about everything a first time traveller would wan

In an excellent area just a 10 minute walk from both the beach and the Dart station, a 10 minute trip into Dublin. Lovely clean room but could with with a little modernisation, quite cold. Good choice for breakfast but lacking a cereal option. Great dogs, very friendly.

We’ve just returned from an excellent short stay. We were made very welcome by Pat, his wife and staff. The room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfasts delicious, especially the home made brown bread. Access to Dublin was easy via nearby bus and train stations and Sandymount is a lovely nearby town. I’d highly recommend staying here and hope to visit again.

I stayed in this lovely little hotel with its very kind and welcoming hosts for three nights. It's very authentic and situated nearby a beautiful beach area, that creates a nice contrast to the busy city life you'd get right in Dublin, which is also very easily reached by either bus or train. My personal favourite touch were probably the two dogs and the cat, who were some great company after my arrival and a whole day of travelling.

We stayed here as part of a Virgin experience package. On arrival we were treated like royalty - being asked to sit in the lounge and presented with tea, coffee and delicious peanut butter cookies. After a brief discussion with Pat, he gave us our train passes and open top bus tour passes (part of the Virgin package). Our room was on the first floor. Spotlessly clean and overlooked the back garden. Although quite old- fashioned (compared to many modern hotels) it was a lovely, comfortable place to stay. Without a doubt, the best thing about our stay was the delicious Irish breakfast! Something we looked forward to every morning. The position of the hotel is a 10 minute walk to the local train station which was great too.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night Dublin break staying at Aberdeen Lodge. It is a lovely old house in a very pleasant and clean neighbourhood. The welcome from Pat was excellent and much appreciated providing us with some great local tips, particularly regarding the nearby DART train service (5 minute walk, Dublin city centre journey 10 minutes) which is very efficient and easy to use (the tea and biscuits were also appreciated after a full morning’s travel). The lodge is immaculate, and the breakfasts are fantastic - watching Sandy and Robin (the dogs) play in the garden was very entertaining each morning. Our shower pressure and temperature were great (often a disappointment when staying away) and our room was serviced and replenished daily. Overall, we have no hesitation

Excellent location: a bus stop around the corner. 3 bus lines to conveniently get to the city center. The hosts are very helpful and friendly. (NB para los hispanohablantes: algunos miembros del personal son hablantes nativos de español). Large and comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast. The area is very quiet at night, but three bus stops away one can find a variety of nice restaurants in Sandymount.
