The beds are so comfortable you just may not want to get out of them. The bathroom is so beautiful you linger longer. Quiet but well located. The staff were very nice to deal with. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

I'm delighted to read you enjoyed your recent stay at The Clarence, and that both the hotel and team here were the reasons for this. We hope that you stay again in the future and enjoy it just as much on that occasion.

A beautiful hotel in an excellent location. Only had the one night there but everything was exceptional. I was lucky enough to get a top floor room with a small balcony. Despite the weather not being fantastic, it gave a wonderful view over the streets of Dublin. Everything about the room was very high quality, and the bed was extremely...

This was our second trip to The Clarence and again it did not dissapoint. The location could not be better as it is within easy walking distance to all major sights. We stayed in a superior river room and the room was well furnished, spotlessly clean and had plenty of space for two adults travelling with large bags (travelling for...

We were delighted to welcome you back to The Clarence for this second stay and we hope it's not the last. It's great to read you enjoyed the hotel'c facilities, though it's unfortunate the neighbouring bar noise was a negative aspect and we appreciate your understanding that we cannot control this. I'm glad it didn't ruin your stay and we...

Great hotel very central for pubs & shops had read a previous review that warned about noise and when we saw the hotel supplied earplugs we knew we where in for a sleepless night. Room was chilly even when heating was turned up full blast and snacks in room weren't stocked up fully. The reception staff were really helpful & friendly...

I'm disappointed to read that you feel some of the team here at The Clarence meant your stay was less enjoyable than it ought to have been. I will look into this instance in the bar and pass your feedback regarding breakfast service on to the management of Cleaver East. It certainly isn't reflective of the high level of service...

This is a fantastic place to stay, brilliant location, and wonderful staff. We have been upgraded when rooms are available but all rooms are comfortable. The only negative is the noise from the bars which surround it, which goes on until 3am, so not good if you need a good nights sleep.

Many thanks for your recent stay at The Clarence and review afterwards. It's a pity to read that noise was a factor during your stay but it's also great to read the opening positive comments. We hope to see you back at The Clarence in the future.

Lots of natural, heavy wood keeps noises out. Close the window and close out city noise (or sit on the balcony and enjoy it!). The staff is friendly and helpful, the room large and comfy. Dublin is a wonderful city, but if The Clarence were located in any other city, we'd go visit! My rating is Excellent PLUS!

The Clarence is right on the River Liffey with easy access to O'Connell Street, Temple Bar, Christchurch, and about a ten minute walk to Trinity College and Grafton Street. The staff was very helpful, the rates are great, and the room is very clean. It has a classic, yet simple décor, and a very comfortable bed. All in all, I...

Expected so much more from the Clarence. The room was dated, small and we couldn't escape the noise so we just got more alcohol into us! Great location though. It's a pity to read that The Clarence did not live up to your expectations and yes it's true that noise can be an issue on some nights in some rooms. There is a kettle along with tea and coffee in each room, but I know sometimes nothing beats a Barista coffee so I hope that helped with the overindulgence....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Clarence boasts fifty bedrooms and suites, along with our world famous Penthouse Suite. Our rooms range from Classic through Deluxe and on to our River View and Garden Terrace Suites. Our furnishings are simple: classic Shaker oak, beds dressed in cool white linen, sitting elegantly in contrast to a palate of vibrant cardinal colours, rich drapes and luxe carpets. We aim to provide all the simple needs of our guests and we offer 'round the clock room service and all rooms have complimentary WiFi as standard. Our city centre location means car space is at a premium, but we do have a small underground car park that can be reserved for a small nightly supplement. It is also worth noting that our location does mean that the area can be lively at night, especially at the weekends and while we have taken every effort to reduce noise, it is not possible to block it all out. Please do consider this before booking. Within the hotel complex there are many drinking and dining experiences, from the chilled out bliss of The Study to the super stylish Octagon Bar, the perfect spot for an afternoon cocktail or a laid back nightcap. We also have Michelin star chef Oliver Dunne's Cleaver East restaurant within our walls and we are very proud that Oliver and his team provide all catering at the hotel, so whether it's a late night bite in your room or a Full Irish breakfast the next morning, you know your food will be of the highest standard, made from the freshest produce, closely cared for by Michelin starred hands. In the bowels of our building you will find the luxurious cocktail and food bar The Liquor Rooms, home to Dublin's arts set and the first ROI bar ever to be nominated in the prestigious Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards. On our first floor, overlooking the River Liffey lies The Cleaver East Suite at The Clarence, which can be reserved for special occasions, from large weddings to intimate business meetings. ... more   less
