Chic and understated with a music pedigree that runs deep, the gibson hotel Dublin is the ultimate urban retreat. Music lovers, art junkies, food fanatics - whatever your passion it's right on our doorstep. We do sleeping, meeting, dining, gigging, touring, wedding and relaxing really really well. We mix all these things with a fresh, energetic, slightly off centre approach and we know it works. Exhibitions, supporting local artists, urban weddings and the odd celebrity are elements of what makes us different to the normal Dublin Hotel. You will find our staff friendly, responsive and happy - there is a secret to this that we can't possibly share. The gibson hotel is the ideal location to explore the city and planning your stay is easy. The M1 and M50 are 8 minutes away via the Port Tunnel and we have ample covered parking for our guests. With the luas stop right outside our front door Connolly train station is only 8 minutes away and Heuston train station is a short 20 minutes from the hotel. The Luas will take you to the City centre in 10 minutes or if you prefer to take in the views of the River Liffey a brisk 15 minute walk along the quays will bring you to O'Connell street, the heart of Dublin city. Great beds, 100MB complimentary WiFi, a gym, relaxation area, restaurant, bar and meeting space are all part of the deal. The gibson hotel is modern yet comfortable, it's different and it's better, it's large, it's friendly and it's a building that is alive with great people from the moment you set foot until the moment you leave.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely welcome and a great stay. I want to especially thank Tuany one of the house keeping staff working on the 5th floor. She was so helpful allowing us to stay a little on her past our checkout time to get our bags packed and ready to go. I obviously didn’t do such a great job as when I reached the lift Tuany came running after me with my iPad (my life line) which I’d left on the side! Thank you Tuany and the great team at the Gibson! We stayed for one night, while attending a concert in the 3 arena. An excellent location, and the car park was well run, which was great! Check in was easy and our room was clean and comfortable. The pillows were amazing, I’d love to find out where to get them! The bar staff were so welcoming and ensured we were seated and looked after before the concert. So thank you! We are booked again in November, December and June next year and look forward to the same service and comfort again.

Hotel lobby is modern & clean but the room we had was rundown and grubby. There was stains on the carpet , a lot of marks on the wall . There was no mirror near a plug so i could blowdry/curl my hair . Bathroom was not the cleanest . This hotel used to be of high standard but not anymore. Disappointing stay .

We stayed at The Gibson for several nights visiting Dublin this last summer, but were far from impressed! A couple of nights there were a lot of noise from the restaurants, and even though we went to the reception to complain we were not offered a room further from the restaurant (apparently that would have been less noisy). Something went missing from our room (something that had been gifted to me, and though not valuable in money, it had sentimental value), and even though we reported this to the reception twice, it was never resolved and we were not offered compensation. The aircondition sounded like a jet engine, and made it impossible to sleep with it on. So we had to choose between hot and stuffy or cool and noisy. Neither far from ideal. Also, the room wasn't super clean (found another, former guest's hair in the shower). The hotel also promised bottled water, something we never got (not even after the incident of the missing thing). We visit Dublin often, but will never stay here again!

Stayed for one night in a double single room while going to Garth brooks check in staff were lovely , room was big but grubby stains on carpets, bathroom not very clean , staff in the bar after arriving back from the gig were quite rude , one particular security staff who's arrogance was on another level while dealing with guests. Overpriced hotel no better than the average travel lodge

After spending over €350 for a superior double room for one night, I am shocked and appalled at how dirty the hotel is - from the room itself to the corridor walls. Our room looked like it had never been cleaned. The carpet was filthy - covered in stains. Tbh I didn't even want to take my shoes off it was so bad. Secondly, the decorative pillows on the bed were all ripped, the shower was dirty and the bathroom mirror had a thick layer of dust on it. One of the two chairs in the room had a mysterious stain on it. Finally, the cherry on top, there was pubic hair on the bath towel left out for us. This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel and charges prices of a 4 star hotel but I would give it no stars if I could. To me cleanliness is the number one thing I look for in a hotel - forget any fancy extras or nice touches (of which there were none). If it's not clean, it's not good enough and the Gibson is not clean. That aside, we went for dinner in the hotel's restaurant before heading to a gig in the 3 Arena, which is around the corner and the reason for our stay. The restaurant food was awful. I would liken it to airport food. Oddly enough, breakfast was decent the next morning, so that was some small comfort. I do not know what has happened to the Gibson Hotel - has their management changed because they used to have such a good reputation! I will not be staying there again and I would recommend you don't either.

Fantastic location, excellent staff. Sean the waiter went above and beyond to make our evening enjoyable following the Gareth brooks concert. He attends to us after concert and made tea and coffee for the non drinkers in our party. Great car parking facilities too

The room we had was nice and clean(think they refurbished the room) one thing that stood out was the staff in reception, they went above to make our stay most enjoyable and all had great smiles every time we walked passed. Would definitely be back again.

This is a lovely hotel. The staff are friendly and professional. I had dinner in the bar and was served by the loveliest server Ali. The whole hotel has a spacious feel which is unusual in Dublin, the room was comfortable, and it is a stones throw from the 3 Arena. Highly recommend it
