Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Gibson Hotel emerges as a favorable destination for its friendly service and modern amenities, though guests have experienced inconsistencies with service speed and occasional dissatisfaction with value due to unexpected costs. Its prime location near the 3Arena and Luas Line is celebrated by event-goers and tourists, despite some noting a scarcity of local conveniences.
While the spacious and contemporary rooms are generally commended for cleanliness, critiques arise over noise, temperature regulation, and occasional cleanliness oversights. Diverse dining options are a plus, although the vibe of the restaurant and bar sometimes falls short of expectations.

Detailed Reviews
We just spent a few nights staying at this hotel. The Gibson is one of the best hotel stays we have had. We stayed in a fab room which had a balcony and sliding Double doors. The room was huge, in immaculate condition and had lots of nice features. The electronic blinds were a great touch and the bed linen and surrounds were spotless.
Couldn’t fault this hotel, all the staff members were friendly welcoming and helpful especially Cian who made us feel as if we were in our local at home. Check-in at reception was quick, service at breakfast was excellent and room service was also very quick. Food was very good quality. Location is also great with loads of transport options nearby.
We hope to attend a few concerts next year and this will definitely be our first choice of hotel for the trip.

The Gibson has always been on my to do list for hotel stays. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised to see lots of social distancing measures and plenty of hand sanitisers about. I was given a room with a balcony on the 5th floor by the very friendly and professional front desk guy. He was extremely informative about the measures the hotel had taken during the covid19 pandemic. I felt very safe at all times and people kept their distance where possible. You can still order room service but it’s more of a click and collect or phone and collect option. The hotel room itself I think needed some TLC, some paint touch ups etc and the air con or vent over the bedroom door needed some serious cleaning and dusting as it was very dirty. Something I should’ve mentioned at reception. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. The balcony was a great addition although you’re almost sharing with one other room separated by a sheet of metal.

We stayed in a terrace suite which overlooked the city, the room was spacious and had a lot of natural light coming in from the terrace. Fabulous bathroom with a waterfall shower and bed was super comfy and big! Our room was very clean also. We ate in the hemi bar and our food was gorgeous, although the chicken in the caesar salad starter was under cooked, but our lovely waitress Niamh sorted the issue for us straight away and was so friendly, professional and very pleasant when serving us (thank you Niamh!). All staff were helpful and pleasant and adhered to social distancing guidelines, wiping down pens and card machine at check-in and offering online check-in and check-out also. Would definitely recommend a stay at the Gibson.

Booked a room for 3 adults in December, checked in, entered the room, went to use the toilet and there was a present left in the toilet for us, the smell was awful. Went to the reception to advise them of this, they offered to change rooms however we did not want the hassle of this, they advised they would send house keeping straight to the room to clean the toilet, this did not happen!! I have stayed a few times before with the Gibson but not in recent years, I can honestly say the standard has slipped and the price increased. If that room/bathroom had actually been cleaned, there was no way this could have been an oversight, the smell was got upon entering the room.
Very disappointing. This hotel is handy if you are attending the 3Arena, other than that I would not recommend, plenty hotels in Dublin better value.

We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night. The hotel is stunning. Room was so clean, décor was beautiful and there was so much space. Such amazing value for the two night stay which included a 3 course dinner each night, breakfast each morning and bottle of prosecco and strawberries.
We arrived on the Friday and got a tasty lunch and was served by a very helpful lady called Niamh.
We were greeted by a fab receptionist called Louise who was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. She sorted the prosecco to be sent to the room as soon as we got up there.
We were so chilled and relaxed by the end of our stay and that is down to the staff who made the experience feel so safe with all the precautions they took during the pandemic. Everyone was spaced out during dinner, they made sure all the guests were wearing masks and you could see sanitizing stations located all around the hotel.
Thank you Gibson Hotel for a wonderful stay!!

We stayed here for four nights. From the moment we entered the hotel, I knew we would be looked after. patryk at hotel reception couldn’t have done more for us. He was absolutely lovely to talk to and greeted us every morning. Flavia at breakfast couldn’t have done more for us. She remembered us each morning and greeted us with a smile and ensured to make conversation with us even though she was busy. The breakfast was amazing each morning of the stay. We ate in the hemi bar twice and each night the food was amazing. Our sever, a man in a suit possibly a hotel manager couldn’t have done more for us. He made sure we had enough to eat and drink and always asked us if we wanted another drink when he saw we had finished our last one. He made us strawberry daiquiris which were not on the menu- such a kind gesture! We ran out of towels and toiletries on our second night, a hotel porter arranged fresh towels for us along with two extra pillows which we requested. The blinds really block out the sunlight and the noise from the busy dock lands building site. Such an exceptional few days and I honestly cannot wait to be back. Ye are such a credit at what ye do!

Just returned from a fantastic weekend in Dublin. We have never stayed in this part of Dublin before so, Location, This hotel is at the end of the Lucas line, getting into Dublin central is a simple trip, tram to abbey street and a 10 minute stroll across the liffey and into Grafton street for a coffee at Bewleys or mouching around Brown Thomas. So great location with a number of coffee shops and eateries a short walk away. The Hotel itsself, its located on the 3rd floor and up to the sixth. Check in was smooth and easy, at this stage i should say this is a very modern minimalist hotel, if you want chinze and four poster beds this is not what you want. If you like the Nordic look then this is right up your street. Our room was an executive with a massive shared balcony, I can imagine in the summer this would be outstanding. We did enjoy sitting out as although the weather was cool it was mainly sunny. Our room was fantastic and the bed clean and comfortable. Just another note they do not automatically clean the room everyday some like that others dont. Im in the like camp. However if you want it cleaned or need anything its there in minutes so a 5* for service. On the down side the shower could do with a bit of a deep clean as there were spots of mold on the shower door silicon fittings, minor point and easily fixed. The paint work around the lower door area could be touched up but im being very picky. This is a great hotel in a great location, just to point out one more thing there is a car park behind the hotel and guests get a discount! To get here from the airport is so easy and quick, straight through the tunnel and out the other side 25 mins from door to door.
Back to the Hotel. The food was good and tasty, however as we have discovered Ireland let alone Dublin has not embraced the Vegetarian/Vegan lifestyle yet. Thus the menus options for non meat eaters was limited especially at the breakfast buffet. Note to Hotel you might want to take a closer look at the options, a few veg sausages at breakfast and another option on the dinner menu would be a good start. But again im being very picky as Dublin is still dealing with Covid in a more closed way than the UK. On that note you must wear a mask in all restaurants, shops etc, in addition you must have proof of a double vaccine before you can eat at any restaurant. No proof no entry and they are very strict on this!

We stayed for one night, had booked a deal on their website that included choc dipped strawberries and a cocktail each. No strawberries in room so rang reception was told it wasn’t part of the deal. I had to provide proof it was and explain same deal was still on their website. Same happened when we tried to order our cocktails in the restaurant had to prove to two separate members of staff by showing our email confirmation as they refused to believe this was part of our package. This really ruined the vibe of what was a nice meal and left us wondering do they even know what packages they are selling. Later that night was woken twice by noise in room beside us, walls paper thin.
We were not asked when we checked out how our stay was. This hotel is not interested in you coming back.

My wife and I booked a two night getaway for our anniversary, and decided to have our children and their grandmother join us two days later. Even from the booking stage over the phone we could see how professional these staff are.
On arrival we met Piotr, he was polite, courteous and very endearing. He explained the new procedures regarding Covid-19 protocol, which although are necessary, don't seem to have impacted the hotels functionality or visually.
We checked into our suite, and were immediately impressed with the layout, contents and view. Spotless as you would imagine, extremely comfortable bed, large bathroom and all the little extras one would need for a four night stay.
The first morning we ate breakfast in the restaurant, to see how Covid has effected dining. We were greeted by Marko, and a finer gentleman you will never meet. Served us with great gusto and professionalism. We also noticed how he dealt with a guest that was being quite awkward and rude around the new protocols, and were very impressed. The next morning I went to collect breakfast and bring it upstairs to our room. Just like the previous day, the breakfast was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious, right down to the poached eggs being perfect.
We had some requests for additional items for our room, and in no time these were delivered to us by the housekeeping team. Again, we were greeted with a smile, politeness and keeping to the protocols.
When our children and their grandmother arrived, and again, when we got to their room it was immaculate. The extra large shower with seating was particularly enjoyed by the two small boys.
We can not recommended here highly enough, it's location, it visually, it's comfort but most of all its staff. A special mention has to go to Piotr (front desk) and Marko (restaurant), but all the staff are doing an outstanding job, especially during these tough times.
I hope the owners and management appreciate the level of commitment they provide to each and every guest and customer they serve.
We have stayed in many hotels in Dublin over the years and can confirm, here is hands down the finest.
Looking forward to our next visit.

Fabulous staff and stay at the Gibson. The care shown to us by every staff member we met was very impressive. This was our second time staying at the hotel and every care was given to customers with social distancing and super clean rooms and communal areas. Breakfast and evening meal were faultless. Car park with lots of spaces underneath the hotel and very close to the city centre - walkable or you can take a tram from right outside the door. Can't wait to visit again soon.
