Detailed Reviews
The amazing customer service at the Aloft Dublin City more than makes up for the rather small, but clean and comfortable rooms. This may be the best customer service we've ever had at a hotel. Damian and the other concierge offered useful advice on restaurants, directions, outings, music. The housekeeping staff kept the room spotless. Breakfast was ample and delicious. The 7th floor offers inviting space for conversation, drinks, working, reading, or just enjoying the spectacular view. The location is perfect--nice walk to main attractions downtown; easy walk to bus stops, but in a quiet residential neighborhood that we would not have explored otherwise. A great place to stay in Dubln.

We travelled to Dublin for the American College Football game, but were unable to book into the Shelbourne Autograph Marriott or several others. However, when arriving at the Aloft we were immediately impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Damian M. was a great ambassador for the hotel - as well as for Irish hospitality. Others (baggage; registration), like the tall concierge who's name I forget at this moment, were helpful "over and beyond". They realize that people like us were travelling for a long time before arriving at their location, so they were quite welcoming.
After checking our bags on the first floor entryway, we were extra fortunate to learn at registration (on the 7th [top] floor) that our room was ready at about 10:00am. Fabulous for a quick shower before meeting our son for lunch.
The tall concierge recommended four pub-like restaurants "south of the river" for a lamb stew-like lunch. (The Brazen Head; the Darkey Kelly's; The Bull and Castle and the Devitt's Pub.)
The room and service were very good for our particular needs on our short stay in Dublin prior to touring around for two weeks.
Thank you Aloft and Damian M.

The perfect stay from start to finish. There are still renovations underway so there was an alternative entrance during our stay, but the men on the door gave a lovely welcome as did the reception staff on the 7th floor. The lady who checked us in was friendly and efficient, and helped us throughout our stay, she is a credit to the company. Although we arrived early they were able to let us into our room and even gave us an upgrade to a larger corner room which was much appreciated after our journey.
The room was spacious, spotlessly clean (and was kept so throughout our stay by the wonderful housekeeping team) with a large comfortable bed, huge windows letting lots of light in, and everything you could need (iron, iron board, hairdryer, tea/coffee, mini bar, safe, dressing gowns and slippers). As other reviews have said, there is student accommodation next door which also has large windows so depending on where your room is you may have to pull down the blinds for privacy (as we were in a corner room we only had to pull down one). There are two sets of blinds on each window, one being a black out blind which enabled us to have a great sleep. Loved the large walk in shower with a great view over the rooftops!
The service throughout our stay was excellent. I asked for a replacement hairdryer (as the one in the room had a two prong plug for some reason) and it was brought to our room in minutes. There's even a little robot butler who can deliver things!
The location of the hotel was perfect for us. We were able to walk to St Stephens Green in under 15 minutes. It is near the Guinness Storeroom and there's the Liberties Whiskey Distillery just across the road which also offers tours.
There is a small gym which has a few machines. You have to enter from outside, but maybe this is just due to the renovations.
We loved the bar on the 7th floor. It was so relaxing to sit there in the evening with a drink while looking out across the city. There is an outdoor terrace area there too but as it was February we gave that a miss, but would love to try it on a return visit. This time we preferred to sit in the comfy chairs by the fire. We ordered food from the bar menu which didn't have much choice but the portions were generous. The drinks menu was much more extensive and we loved trying the different cocktails on offer.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Aloft and it's now our favourite hotel to stay in when visiting Dublin.

I’ll start with the bad first:
The location of this hotel is not good for tourists. It is close to Teeling's Distillery, and 500 meters from St. Patrick's, however, that’s about it. If you want to go to the major tourist attractions such as Temple Bar and Grafton Street, or want to be near restaurants and bars, be prepared for a 1.5 to 2.5KM walk - Each Way. Which doesn’t sound bad at first, but that distance makes shopping and taking a break and catching a tour bus a real chore and expensive if you resort to take taxis, which is averages 12-20 Euro to most tourist attractions.
The lack of restaurants and bars and things to do near-by is this hotel's fatal flaw. There is NOTHING you can do unless you want to walk for 20-30 minutes. So definitely keep this in mind if you are looking for a hotel that’s touring friendly. I recommend book something near the Trinity College area as that’s where 95% of tourist attractions and tours buses are, as well as the huge selection of food and drink choices.
The rooms are very nice and large for the price, the shower is powerful and hot. A few complaints I have are that it doesn't have a frige, the mini-bar does not allow guests to store items in it. Also, the bed is kind of lumpy and uncomfortable, my back gives it two thumbs down. Another nitpick is that the shower door is the type with a half glass pane, so water gets everywhere. The toilet design is also problematic, let’s just say that it is not good at flushing solids and everything sticks to the bowl. The cleaning staff deserves combat pay for this.
The breakfast is very good with no variations, but good nevertheless. it’s worth the upgrade to get it with the room price, especially considering there are no other places to get breakfast nearby.
The staff is a mixed bag but mostly good. The front desk and breakfast staff are always awesome and amazing, regardless of who was on duty, they are always cheerful and helpful. The concierge desk, on the other hand is a different story. An older gentleman was terrific and super friendly and helpful, but I encounter a younger man that was quite obnoxious when I asked which door would Uber driver be at since there were 2 doors, and instead of just pointing to the right door, this guy felt necessary to make a snarky comment about it's between me and the Uber driver. Perhaps he's in the wrong job as the front door concierge if he doesn't know or doesn't want to tell guests which door Uber shows up at, .
All in all, this may be a good choice for some people, but if you want to be near tourist attractions and lots of restaurants, this is not the right location.

Dear Travelr, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the spacious rooms, powerful shower, and our breakfast offerings. Your kind words about our front desk and breakfast staff are much appreciated. Our breakfast has many variations and changes regularly however i have provide your feedback to our culinary team who have taken this on board. In regards of our location, many guests would find us conveniently located near the city centre with a 10-15 min walk to all the amenities. We can certainly empty your mini bar on request which will give plenty of space to store your personal items, perhaps next time you let us know and we will provide this service for you. Regarding the concierge experience, we are sorry to hear about the negative interaction you had. This is not the level of service we strive to provide, and we will ensure this is addressed with the staff involved. We hope you will consider staying with us again in the future, and we will do our best to provide a more comfortable and convenient experience. Kind regards, Roderick Vastenburg Director of Operations

I was looking forward to staying in this Hotel due to some very positive reviews I read.
Unfortunately, staying at this hotel was a very disappointing experience.
I arrived at the Hotel at 9am after an overnight flight from Canada, asked for an early check in but they didn't even made an effort to give me a room. In fact I ended up receiving my room at 3:50pm even though the check in time is at 3pm. As a "compensation" for the delay I was given a cupon for two drinks at the 7th floor bar. When I wanted to claim them, they said that only beer and wine was included and that I had to claim the two drink at the same time.
Housekeeping isn't very good either. One day I came back to my room while the cleaning lady was there, I saw her with her hand inside a glass (I had used the previous night) cleaning it with a napkin instead of replacing it with a clean one, I never used the glasses again after I witnessed this.
Also one night I asked for a bucket of ice, I did not use all the ice, so it melted, housekeeping did not bother to empty the water in the bucket, I stayed for 2 weeks in the hotel and when I checked out the bucket with water was still in the room.

This hotel is amazing. I found the location to be ideal to exploring Dublin as almost everything was within a short walking distance away. I say almost only because Kilmainham Gaol was just far enough that it made sense to take the bus to get there. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, we're usually offered points or some sort of food & beverage credit upon check in. In this hotel, instead of a measly $10 USD type F&B credit, they offer a full breakfast. And let me tell you, it is so worth it. The best hotel breakfast I've experienced so far. The selection of foods from the Irish breakfast to omelets, to various pastries, overnight oats, detox smoothies, fresh fruits was amazing. Not some standard continental breakfast type spread that you see in US hotels but restaurant quality food. And the service was top notch. The rooms themselves are slightly on the smaller side but still was very comfortable. Bathrooms were spacious and the showers had great water pressure. The views from the 7th floor lobby were also great. The hotel is located in the Liberties and the area seems to be going through a revitalization so yes there are some areas next to the hotel that may not be as visually pleasing (think torn down buildings) but that's to be expected. I never felt unsafe while walking about, day or night. I would definitely stay here again when I come back to Dublin.

Booked this Hotel as it was close to Vicar Street Venue - in actual terms not that close!
Emailed ahead as it was my Husbands Birthday asked for a room with a view of the City - got the 2nd floor with a view of some nearby housing. They did deliver a slice of cheesecake to our room with a card - which was a nice gesture - would have liked the room with the view ! The room was a good size - everything in need that you would need for a comfortable stay BUT - no instructions on how to use the coffee machine - all we could extract was hot water - 2 Barrys Tea bags and no instant coffee?
Room Only €229.00 - PLUS a refundable €100 deposit !!!! Check in AFTER 3pm check out BY 12.00 am I being unreasonable - but have some of the Hotels in Dublin lost the run of themselves ? Dinner in their "Gastro" pub - food was very basic and we had to remind the server TWICE that we were entitled to 20% discount - early bird/hotel guest. Dont rate this hotel as Value for Money - stayed in better for less money - problem was this was a last minute trip - service at their reception was "indifferent" at best.

Dear Lillian, Thank you very much for providing your details in regards of your recent stay. I regret we did not meet your expectations during your stay. Whilst our guaranteed check in time is 3pm, we always welcome guests to the hotel early than that. Early check in would be subject to availability as is late check out. The times would be fairly standard world wide in hotels. Our coffee machines are provided by Nespresso, a far superior product then instant coffee with several options available. If we were notified that you needed assistance with the coffee machine we would have been able to assist you however no request was made. Also a selection of 4 different flavoured teas are available and replenished after each service of the room, additional tea bags are available on request and delivered by our inhouse robot Lofty. I regret that you had to ask twice for your discount in the pub, i have spoken to the team and this has been resolved. Kind regards, Roderick Vastenburg Director of Operations

Stayed our first night in Dublin at the Aloft. We were dead on our feet after 25 hours of travel and showed up at the hotel two hours before check-in. I was so happy when the front desk said our room was ready and we could go ahead and check-in, I almost cried. Wonderful breakfast spread. There are cheaper breakfast options else where but it was nice having breakfast before we had the stress of navigating the city. This hotel is in a more residential area. We didn't find many restaurants (other than the one at the hotel) that was on the block. But theTemple Bar area is just a short walk away. We will stay here again when visiting Dublin.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Aloft in Dublin. Everyone at the hotel was very nice, from check-in to departure. The check-in is on the top floor so you can drop your bags on the first floor if arriving in the morning and then head up to see if your room is ready. Everything was very clean and the room was nicely decorated. I accidentally booked the wrong category of room (totally my fault), and requested to be moved to another room when one became available. The front desk staff was able to move me to another room and it was greatly appreciated. The hotel is very close to St. Patrick's and about a 15 minute walk to the Temple Bar area. I specifically chose this location as I didn't want to be right next to Temple Bar because of the noise and traffic. It was a great choice as the hotel was very quiet but still an easy walk to get around Dublin. Breakfast was great, and we had a beer one evening while watching the 2024 Euros. From the airport, we took the Dublin Express bus which dropped us off at the Portobello stop, which was only about a 5 minute walk to the hotel. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely stay here again.
