Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I overpaid for what they call a suite apt. But is nothing more that a room with a sink and a microfridge, one plate for two person and no sitting space whatsoever apart from the bed. Too bad it's a trap and once you sit, you won't be able to leave. Beware people with back problems. The room is publicised as having a microwave, but look, there is none. Since we chose that solution over cheaper ones because we wanted the microwave and kitchenette, we ended up having breakfast on the trap bed. When we complained, and I showed them proof their website is clearly selling something that is not true, they shrugged their shoulders, said there is nothing they could do and just offered me to use the microwave in the bar. Right, except if I wanted to use the microwave in the bar, I would have gone to a hostel. To me, this is unacceptable, and I would urge everyone to not gift these people with money they don't appreciate, because they won't value you.

My partner and I stayed in the "penthouse" for four days in September, 2022. We LOVED our room, the location, the bar/restaurant staff on the ground floor, and the easy check-in/check-out process. The suite was perfectly clean and very cute. We especially liked the view and all the flower boxes. We had plenty of interaction with the Bar Rue staff downstairs, and they — and the food and drink — were first rate. The only downside is the noise. And it's not from the bar, but from the surrounding area (lots of bars/shopping/eateries) — and at ALL hours (way past last call). The management did provide ear plugs, which worked to some extent. If you book this place and are bothered by noise, I would recommend bringing your own, high-quality ear plugs. While we were definitely bothered by the noise, we loved this place and its central location so much that we would book it again, and would recommend it to friends.

Room Tip: The penthouse is on the corner, so has a great view/tons of light. Lovely flower boxes.

Stayed here on the 13th of Dec for one night with my boyfriend. The room was lovely and was in a great location so can’t fault it for that. But we were informed that 3pm was the check-in time, when we arrived at around 3:30 after a long day walking around town, our room wasn’t ready and we were greeted by quite a rude cleaner who said ‘well I am the only one here cleaning what do you expect?’ I expect my room to be ready for the time it’s advertised. As well as this, when we finally checked into the room the smell of weed was awful! It was in the bathroom and in the general area, and the smell didn’t really shift at all. In general it is a nice room and the location is brilliant but I will not be staying here again nor would I recommend this place to a friend.

Was a bit nervous about staying here given concerns people raise about noise. Fears unfounded. Is above a bar so not a place to stay with young children but like many visitors to Dublin we wanted to take advantage of the nightlife so it wasn't an issue for us. Staff in the pub were helpful with any queries and looking after luggage on our last day. The fire alarm going off at 7.30 in the morning (felt like the middle of the night!) didn't help and no one to speak to, to sort it out. The number we had just went to answerphone. It lasted about 20 minutes and then went off. It would be nice to have a specific point of contact but when I emailed the address given with questions they responded quickly. Its a great location for bars and getting about Dublin, bang in the centre of Town. Very clean, big comfy bed and plenty of room. Tea and coffee facilities as well as fridge and microwave. Good internet. Recommended.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 3. I'd suggest higher floor rooms though there was no issue.

The room was good. Very clean and modern. The bed was good and the location was good too. One thing bothered me so much that I gave only one star: they put ducttape on all the fire/smoke detectors. That’s just wrong!!!

We arrived on sunny days in May and the penthouse (no.2) was extremely hot. There was NO air-conditioning in the unit despite the existence of a remote control in room that did not control the temperature of ANYTHING. The large wide windows supposed to be a great concept to let in more sunlight but without air-conditioning this just didn't work. During the day you feel like a dumpling being cooked inside a microwave oven. It wasn't even summer. And it was still very hot even with windows wide open. Not to mention, once you open the windows, NUMEROUS disgusting flies entered the room and hard to chase them out. Is this a joke?? Right, there was no mentioning of air-conditioning on the booking site, but stating this beforehand DOES NOT make it OK because the room was just not LIVABLE. It is like, you telling me beforehand there is no elevator in the hotel but after I arrive the room is located on the 15th floor, would that be OK?? A room that is not livable should not be rented out. Period. And nobody would help you, also bad attitude. I called the contact phone no. and they just sent a guy from the bar. He didn't work for the residence and he was extremely annoyed by our complaint. It was not his fault I know, I asked him whom I should contact, he said nobody but them at the bar. He kept telling us to open the windows and asked if we turned on the heat. I told him we didn't touch the heat at all and he checked the heater and confirmed the heater was OFF. He told us the heat would cool down after the sun set. WHAT? So you telling me the room could only be used at night? So why were we charged full day rate when we could only enjoy the room for 8 hours?? At night the room did cool down. We were OK with the noise downstairs although it was very loud (music and people). Doors banging and people yelling at night in corridors. The shower was pathetic, weak dripping and cold. There was no electrical outlet near any mirror. I cannot believe why anyone would rate this a 5 star. Despite the slightly cool decor, which you can only enjoy 1/3 of the day, there is nothing good about this place. With the construction site / noise / flies / no elevators I would not even consider this a good location at all.

So you book this nice room, located in the centre of Dublin and not exactly cheap. Then, when you arrive it’s located on the corner of an alley with garbage cans and restaurant vents that smells like fried dead things and, at the other side a huge construction site with absolutely nothing worth looking at. So yes, it’s nicely located in downtown Dublin, but don’t expect a cozy and nice surrounding. You’re in the backstreets. The room (Penthouse 2) is nice. Newly furnished, with all the commodities you can ask for including an espresso machine. Then you get in the shower and notice that someone screwed up the interior design... nice shower but if you want to get under the water you have to lean against the wall! Of course, no heating in the bathroom so it’s pretty cold when you get out of the hot water. Anyway, you go to bed for a good night’s rest after visiting Dublin and it’s amazing nightlife and... at 4 in the morning you start hearing loud noises, bangs and voices: someone thought it was a great idea to change the plant pots of the building at that time on a Saturday night. So you can’t get any sleep until past 6 am... and you paid some 250 euro for that. Oh, the bar downstairs is nice, and the staff is really friendly. For what it matters.

I stayed from 4-9 to 4-11 and was very pleased. There is no front desk to speak of but I had no need for any assistance while I was there. The room (King 1) was perfect! I had all the amenities I could ask for. A microwave, a Nespresso machine, a fridge and a comfy bed. The bathroom was beautiful with a rain shower head. There was a little noise from the bar downstairs but it didn't bother me at all. Actually the television was louder than the bar. The hotel is close to a street filled with shops and plenty of great restaurants. An 8 minute walk to Temple Bar which was great since I didn't have to hear the loud people and music that goes on there throughout the night! Basically, this is in a grand location as it is close to everything without all the hustle and bustle of the city center. If you're going to Dublin, this is the place to stay. A great little hotel at a great price! I tried to add photos but I guess my camera makes too large of a file. But believe me you won't be unhappy!!

Girlfriend and I stayed in King Room 1 and found finding the place was easy. 15 min walk from bachelors quay. Self check-in was perfect although would recommend being quick entering the numbers as any pause and it restarts (not the easiest after a few drinks). 3 flights of stairs is grand to get to the room. We didnt actually hear the bar below once but there's construction going on outside so you won't get any sleep ins. Bed was comfortable and room had all you needed, appreciated the water in the room and also the Netflix. I would suggest them leaving takeaway menus in the room though as it would have been handy. The location is perfect however, in the middle of the city, close to all shops, restaurants, pubs and clubs. We went to the Olympia for a gig. 10 min walk. Overall very happy with it, will be back again whenever going to the Olympia.

These "suites" are directly above a bar that plays live music until 12:30 am. It is so bad that they come with ear plugs and even with the industrial strength ear plugs you can hear the music. Further, the entrance on the side of the building is into the same stairwell as for the bar's patrons. That means two things: anyone can get into the stairwell when the bar is open, which is mid-morning until 12:30 am, and you hear the bar's music and patrons in the stairwell, not to speak of the slight safety question of why this stairwell is not private. While the suites are modern, recently renovated, clean, there's a nice kitchen with Nespresso, nice toiletries and the location downtown is good, I would never ever recommend anyone staying here unless you know you don't need to get to sleep before 12:30 am. I was exhausted from traveling and wanted to get a good night's sleep before getting my day started at 7, but this was not possible. Awful. Last but not least, these suites a prepaid and nobody answers the phone or returns calls. They take your money and hold you hostage with your booking. This is not a hotel even though they pass themselves off as one. These are 4 Airbnb / homes haring suites in basically all ways.
